  1. BTW, that's an extra driver figure I had from a Kyosho 1/8th scale Williams FW14 F1 kit.
  2. Hi Gang! Well, here is the mystery 1/8th (or 1/9th) scale Indy car re-done as Pancho Carter's "Hardee's" entry circa 1985/86. I used an Autographics set for the Hardee's livery and added a correct Indy rear wing, which may be smaller, but streamlines the car. And yes with the Kyosho Lemans motor she flies like the wind! Many thanks to all who kicked in and helped me trying to discover what this one-off build was! Kindest regards, Guy
  3. I could be wrong, but I know it's a 1/12th scale body. Should be for the Z-parts for Porsche 956 0r 934 Kits. I am a bit lost with head. Hope this helps.
  4. Thank you Brom, Mark and BMT for your input! It seems that the consensus is what we used to call in scale modeling; a "kit bash." A sort of cobbling together of multiple components. Yet, the body is such a perfect fit that it seems it may have been a kit. Or perhaps the body was a stand alone that someone built a chassis around. In response to a query from a another member... It is a restored 1/12th scale Cox Gurney Eagle tether car, with custom made decals to re-create Denny Hulme's Eagle Indy car. The driver is from a 1/12th scale Tamiya Lotus 49 kit. Will include a picture. Forgive the quality of the photo. Will try to post another. Thanks!
  5. I thought the front axle looked familiar in some way! MRP may be the answer there. Very observant for sure! I'm in the process of tweaking the electronics and receiver. It in no way can match my Kyosho 1/8th scale F1 cars in the scale department, but I will tweak the body to match Pancho Carter's "Hardee's" Lola and see what we get. If that doesn't work I'll try to slap on an old Entex McLaren M23 glue bomb body I'm restoring. Now that's a reach! It'll probably run like a rocket in a straight line, but the turns are another matter!! ;-) Thanks so much for the input! Every bit helps!
  6. Starting to think that way myself. Thanks for the input!
  7. Just a follow-up... It's got a Kyosho Lemans 480 Gold racing motor in a stout billet aluminum mount. There are no other identifying impressions or stamps anywhere else on the chassis. I think it was some sort of carpet racer at one time or another. Thanks again folks!
  8. Hi Gang: It's been a while and I hope everyone is well! I purchased this large scale Indy car and am not able to identify it. It is more 1/9th scale than 1/8th with the huge rear wheels. The chassis is a bit stone-age, but very robust. The body is styled after a 1985 Lola T-900 (in my humble opinion). It's got a large Kyosho Lemans motor. I was hoping someone might be able to shed some light on this particular car. As usual I appreciate everyone's time and consideration! -- Guy
  9. James Hunt's McLaren M23 F1 car for the F103 chassis would do nicely Thank you very much!
  10. Happy New Year and all the best to my friends at the "Club." Did Kyosho ever produce a window mask set for the Ferrari 250 body set like they did for the Lotus Esprit body set? Mine didn't come with any, just seemed unusual to me. Let me know and best regards to all! -- Guy
  11. Hi Gang! Just wanted to share this labor of love and a survivor of the decal wars. A crying shame that so many parts for these cars ended up in a trash bin in order to save space. It runs like a top and I thought it would be my least favorite of Kyosho's "Big 3" F1 cars from the early '90's. But, I grew to love it in the end. Too many man-hours not to love it. I am sorry for the quality of the shot, but it's adequate...I hope. Best as always to everyone at the "Club" and a huge thanks to all those who helped me finish this bad boy. -- Guy
  12. Sorry for the radio silence on my end MB. Many, many thanks for your help! -- Guy
  13. Thanks Jonny! Well done and oh so true! Best, Guy
  14. The older the paint, the more difficult the removal. I have had decent results with Easy-Off oven cleaner, some guys swear by common brake fluid. But, watch the hands with that stuff. Rubber gloves and a tough clean-up. I have had best results with ScaleKote. And you can strain it and reuse it. When all is lost, you can always paint the outside. I know we all look at that as a last resort, but sometimes it's the only way to go. Best, Guy
