  1. try www.rc10.com - Associated produce a lot of the parts for the first gen cars stil, also www.cmldistribution.co.uk might have what you need if you give them a call - they distribute Associated stuff in the UK and have quite a bit of stuff left from the older cars.
  2. just found someone to spray the car - www.gingapaint.co.uk - Chris is knowledgeable, talented ad enthusiastic - just the man to spray my baby []
  3. I found a place called ginga paint ( www.gingapaint.co.uk ) - the guy there ( Chris ) is really helpful, enthusiastic and pretty **** good. Thanks for the help, though - I'll keep the number in case I have more shells ( I can see it becomeing a habit...[] )
  4. quote:Originally posted by BibboA 2WD should be quicker. I have a Kyosho Triumph ( very similar to the Dyna Storm ) and also the Terra Conqueror ( 4WD ) I don't really find much difference in speed ( I only play around, not race ) I think the main reason is that the 4WD has more grip for acceleration and it also turns better because of the extra wieght over the front ( I have a one way bearing in the front also ) The 2WD is lighter but has less grip for acceleration and also does'nt turn nearly as well. Someone with more competition experience may shed more light on these opinions though. id="quote">id="quote">I used to race electric cars and 1/8 IC off-road for quite some time when I was younger and I still say that 4wd electric takes the fun out of driving - they're too competent for most drivers to find their limits. A well-balanced and setup 2wd electric car is about the best recipe for real driving fun in an everyday ability range - if you can get a car that is essentially back-heavy to go where you want it to at speed, you'll find yourself far more impressed than when your 4wd claws its' way around every corner with your throttle wide open... just my two pence' worth :-D Having said that, for out and out speed for club races ( especially mixed classes ), go for a good 4wd car.
  5. I just got a mint associated RC-10 first gen off of ebay ( at last! ) and I plan on using the rather badly-sprayed body it comes with ( hot rod flames anyone?) to hack about, but would like a s****y top-notch paintjob doing on the spare wing/body I ordered from Associated - something to reflect the pimp-tastig gold chassis. I've sprayed cars before, but this one means a lot to me and I'd like to get it done by a pro - anyone know someone in the UK who offers a graphics/paintjob service in the south east? I'm after a deep mica/pearl purple with a gold divider to a chequered flag with associated logos in there somewhere, so they'd have to be pretty **** good - any ideas?
  6. I just got a first-gen RC10 off of ebay for about $110, I ordered a spare body, wing kit and gear cover for the princely sum of $21 direct from Team Associated - the car comes with no wing and a fairly ratty looking body ( actually it's in good condition, the owner decided to do a flame paintjob on it and is not custom car sprayer, tht's for sure [xx(] ), so I'll use that for hard-driving and do a nice paint job on the new shell. anyone got the original sticker sheet as I forgot to order one of those... I might do it in a gold/peeled back-to-expose-checkers kind of thing ( gold to match the tub ) or maybe purple to give it that pimp-style feel [], but not sure yet. Anyone know if there is a shop doing custom spraying in the UK? (saves buying a new airbrush...[] ). I've owned grasshoppers ( got my first one in about '85 ), blackfoot, fast attack vehicle, sand scorcher, a Tomy 4wd race buggy of late nineties vintage that went like a bat out of badword, an 1/8th IC Mugen worlds buggy and a few others - the first gen RC-10 was always the one car I wanted and never got... I'm so happy to have found one :-D
