  1. I see you have the Hot Trick Stuff aftermarket kit. I ran that exact kit back in the day. Alot of people got rid of the junk alum. chassis. Nice looking car man! Az
  2. Hey all.... My local track is big into the touring car scene. I was looking to pick up a touring car just to see what I thought. I found a good price on a used Associated TC3. Anyone ever own one? What is the word about these things? Any good? I have always been a Kyosho fan, but if no one has noticed, Kyosho shot themselves in the foot over here in the USA. I read a bit about the TC line (TC3, TC4, and TC5) and they seem pretty strong. Any comments would be appriciated. Az
  3. Ok, I have been out of this hobby for quite a while, something like 20 years. Back in the day, if my local hobby shop/track didn't carry the Kyosho part I needed, I would get it from Tower Hobbies. They carried everything Kyosho back in the late 80's, early 90's. What happened? It would almost be taboo for Tower Hobbies to even say the word Kyosho. I know it isn't the trade relationship between the USA and Japan as Tower still carries Tamiya. Can anyone tell me why Tower no longer carries Kyosho brand? Did Kyosho say something in Japanese and the Tower Hobbies exec mis-inturpret it as "Your sister looks like a monkey that got beat with an ugly stick? when they actually said "We slashed our prices to compete with Tamiya." ? If I were shopping for parts, who is the biggest competitor of Tower Hobbies (USA)?
  4. And if you look at the pic of my ultima, there is no top deck. Dont know if it would fit if I had one though. Two things... one, the chassis is a little exposed from the side view as the body doesn't go down as far as I like (using the pre-defined scores for cutting) and two, the outside rear chassis next to the rear bulkheads stick out a little bit. It will work until I find a true replacement.
  5. FYI.... The RC10B3 shell fits the Ultima (pro) pretty good! I found one at my LHS, and thought I would give it a try. Its been 15 years since I painted a body, but it doesn't look bad if I don't say so myself. I will post a pic soon! Az

    Kyosho Parts Help

MB = Datsun 1/10 Rough Road Series truck
  9. Need some more help now... My runner is just about complete except for one thing... the body. I would like a buggy body, but was thinking of going with a full size body. Correct me if I am wrong, but I am assuming I would need to go with a 200mm body if I chose that route. I do understand I would ave to ream the body for the shocks which isn't a problem. For anyone reading this post, what wouldyou recommend? As for a buggy body, I know the sand viper body would work but it is discontinued. What other buggy bodies would work? What about full size bodies? Anyone have a suggestion so I don't go ordering a full body / buggy body, and it not fit....
  10. I'll throw in the red shock collar for giggles as I will never use it as long as you remember me
  11. I will pm you with additional info....
  12. No, I am in the USA. I take it your in the UK?. As for shock collars, I have I think 3 black, and one red. They are on a set of gold ultima shocks. You have the diff I am looking for. I do indeed have the spur gear your looking for that is the large gear outside the gearbox (32pitch)
  13. I indeed am still looking for one. The main spur gear? Is that the gear inside the gear box, or the big gear on the outside that connects with the pinion? I have both I do believe and am willing to trade. The diff you have, it is the ball dif, and not the gear dif..right? I see ppl talking about pitch, and as far as I can tell, this car is a 32 pitch.
  14. I used the Ultima pins. The hole in the Traxxas bandit steering caster was an exact fit. As for the bearings, they are indeed 5x8. My steering still is a bit rough as the servo has a small problem going back to center. I am currently looking at what is causing it to bind. As for the front wheels, being 26mm touring, still rubs a bit on the front section pf the a-arm during a turn. I have a 12-turn motor, and haven't really got to test it as I haven't glued the tires yet. I reached about 50+mph before letting off when the tire started coming off. I was afraid the thing would come apart all together! I need to find a big parking lot to open it up. I was please with the speed I got from it. Handling? I have no clue yet. All I know is that it is to fast to do anything with. I think the 12 turn was a bit much. Found a few extra gear boxes with gears just in case I trash em.
