  1. I've been having some problems with my mini when running it with the steering. It won't go straight and I've set up the servo correctly. Since it's front wheel drive the front wheels spin a lot during take off but from what I've read around the site that's normal (now I know why it eats the tires). Basically I can get it to run straight by adjusting the trim but it still tends to veer off in either direction at random regardless of how fast it's going. It's very annoying and it makes it differcult to control. Firstly I put it down to the contour of the road 'til I tried driving it on a completely flat surface. I have also adjusted the toe-in and out to no avail and now I'm running it with slight toe-in. It's completly stock except full ball bearings. Another thing I have noticed is that it will run straight at top speed for a good 20 meters or so and then turn sharply either left or right for no reason. I don't have any experience with on roaders or the type of chassis this model uses so any tips would be of great help. This thing is too cool to just sit on the shelf. [8D]
  2. Thanks for replying guys. [] Ah ****. They just wear out quick from use on concrete or on tar-sealed roads. The tires I have already are pretty worn so I guess I should just use continue to use them 'til they're "slicks." [] The front tires are very old and are a bit perished. The rear ones were bought new about a decade ago and are in much better shape. *Goes to check the 'bay*
  3. Hi everyone, I'm wondering if there are any after market tires that'll fit the old WW1 rims. It's for a runner on concrete. Thanks, ~Mike
  4. the motor and pinion used to be parted as a unit... so the spare was a motor AND pinion... Not always, I've still got a NIP WW pinion that was bought as a seperate item years ago.
  5. When I first tried to join up here to no avail I didn't get an email like that. I waited for about a month and recieved absolutely nothing. I just assumed I did something wrong or this place didn't accept applications from people using a Hotmail address, or I wrote too much. I used another addy with no problems and I managed to join up fine receiving a password in a matter of minutes. As for the "5 cars before you can join," thing well not everybody has that many unfortunately, unless you're counting a box of bits and I don't think people would want to look at that![]
  6. Totally unrelated to R/C but I'm a huge Simpsons fan. Love the pic![]

  8. quote:Originally posted by TwmasterBrake fluid should not hurt the rubber. Afterall what are the seals and flexible brake hoses made of? Rubber. I would try the BF but keep a watch on them. The only concern I would have is I have seen painted rubber become brittle and dryrot under the paint. Let us know how this turns out! [8D] id="quote">id="quote">Heh heh, duh, I never thought of that! [] Well there's really only specs of paint on them but it's in the tread and the walls of the tires. I was just concerned that it would perish the tires. I have a a WW1 with badly perished tires and it ain't a pretty sight [] Will do. Thanks a lot, T.M. [8D]
  9. Apologies if stuff like this has already been asked [] I've got some old Clod Buster tires that have paint and what looks like some sort of rubber sealant on them. I think who used this *very* old clod previously tried make it 'swim' in creeks and possibly their swimming pool, lol (I saw it in an old R/C mag once so it's possible). The rims have been taped and the holes that usually make the tires deflate when you squeeze them have been all blocked up. That's easy to fix, but for some reason there's paint on the tires. I was wondering if you can use brake fluid like I read on here for stripping the paint of car bodies, or will this ruin the rubber? [?] Cheers []
