What's happening at TFTR, Will? I'll probably be over on the 22nd.

I have the spur gear cover, I have all the plastic parts for the KC NIP. Dunno about drive hexes though, well I do have some but they're on another KC chassis. Same with some shocks. If you wave some cash in front of my face I may let them go [] [] Bearings are easy enough, but bodies aren't. I don't even have a single one of those except a very bad looking Hilux Monster Racer shell that I ripped the stickers off thinking I could strip the paint, but nothing I tried worked. Stupid lexan... []

Promised? I promised nothing [] I'll most likely be over near the end of this month now since it's July as it's now after midnight here [] Do you have all the parts for your KC [?] If not, lemme know.

I typed in the words "Midnight Pumpkin" after buying one off Ebay as I was after some pics to spark old memories on Yahoo and found this place back in early '03. My wallet hasn't liked me much since []

Hi, I want to completely ballrace an Optima Mid. The manual doesn't state the bearing sizes & they're smaller than the kind Tamiya use. Cheers [8D] Mike.

The Blitzer shell and the M. Beetle shell are identical except for the colour. Early M. Beetle shells were white, but later they also molded them in red plastic. The nose cone is only what's different on the Blitzer, but that's a seperate piece anyway.

I guess the lesson is don't let your cousin talk you into jumping your nice condition vintage runners over crude ramps without buying or having ample spares, or checking the reliabilty of your battery connectors... []

Stick controllers are easier to operate & cheaper to buy than Wheel controllers for beginners & you're less likely to get confused while driving too [] I prefer the stick controllers myself though.

I put a newer motor in my WW & to take up the gap due to the smaller end bell I pushed an o-ring on it. It fit perfect. I managed to get the pinion off pushing it off with a screw driver with the old motor in a vice. It came off really easy for me for some reason [8)]
-
Well I'm not prepared to pay that much! NIB would be different though of course []
-
Do you know how much use the car has actually had? You should quite easily get the pinion off to re-use it & it shouldn't be too worn out. The WW was designed to use Mabuchi motors so if you try to use newer type 540s, be prepared to do a little bit of work getting it in. The old brass pinions don't wear too much to be a problem however.

Just a quick question... Is a new built Supershot worth uS $500? I know it has a few unique parts & the Technituned, but I think that price is too steep considering I bought a new built Hotshot 1 for uS $145 very recently. Cheers, Mike. [8D]

Anyone out there know of any websites about the Tamiya tanks? Last year I came across a good one that had some very interesting info about making the drive train in a few of them more reliable. Google hasn't found me much []

Probably best that you get some modern 4WD wheels and change to a hex drive [8D]

quote:Originally posted by SGNASIs the axle casing on the re-release Hornet identical[?] id="quote">id="quote">It's not identical - it got gussets where the axle shafts go through for strength and it's also missing the little tab. These things don't matter though so it'll basically be a direct replacement if you buy a Hornet/Lunchbox one [] And you can use a Lunchbox/Pumpkin wheelie bar if you really need to [8D] Hope that helps, Mike.

Thanks []

Does anyone know how many turns this motor is? I'd like to put it in my Hummer. Cheers [8D]

LOL [] You should've posted this in the "outside world" folder.

Who is from Australia / NewZealand then?

Hey all the best, Del! I dunno if there's any TCer's over there. Good luck [] -
Trick is I reckon to track down/collect the cars you liked when you were younger. I've pretty much done that and I think the newest Tamiya I have now is a MO-3 Mini [] I've spent way too much money on these things probably like the rest of you [8)]

It's an 18 tooth pinion. Mike.
