  1. So any of you met up to break little R/C cars yet? [] Actually, it's probably been raining too much for ya.

Is it for work? id="quote">id="quote">Hey don't worry, I'm half tanked on my uncle's home brew wine and I should really go to bed. Lucky I have a day off tomorrow though! [] I'm moving basically cos my girlfriend is Australian. I wouldn't really say I've come to my senses [] All I know is that I'll miss NZ terribly until we move back here...
  3. quote:Originally posted by Incredible_SeriousHow are you Mike? Long time no hear. I promise not to make too many more references to bad Kiwi accents... it must get a bit tiresome after a while. No probs for me, my better half is SthAfrkn, so I can play with that accent some more... When you getting back Mike? Alex id="quote">id="quote">Sth African eh? Now that's a funny accent [] I dunno, I might pop over in May/June. We'll see if we can get all of y'all organised first!

    Mega Force

Cheers for the info, Raemin [] I've been doing a bit of reading about the Mad Force & it seems the best way to go. madforce.net is full of info like what you just said. What's the usual ebay price? What I've been quoted here in NZ just for a MF kit is too expensive. Tower no longer stock them so I'm not left with any other "cheap" options on picking one of these up & apparently the RTR version is more cheaply made than the kit version [xx(]

Best to go for an XB, or build a kit yourself. They're easy and you get a bit of extra knowledge about how the car works from building it. Plus it's fun, lol []

    Mega Force

quote:Originally posted by raeminThe mega force can't compare to the savage with its small engine (it's more like the "Bigger" HPI nitro MT2). A mad force (with rigid axles), or a giga force (the new one with 2 engines) are probably more interesting: totaly insane power / bulletproof chassis, lots of parts shared with the MP chassis. id="quote">id="quote">Thanks for the reply, but I'm not wanting to spend a lot of cash on a nitro truck. I basically want something that I know of brandwise, and is good for a nitro beginner. Plus, I work at a golf course and the MF sounds ideal for bashing around the fairways since I'm not a serious racer or hop-up freak! I've read a bit about the Mega Force, but again I'd rather go with a simpler, more newbie design. Though I'm aware that the 'Force is a more basic chassis with the solid axels, the indepenent suspension of the Mega looks like it'll cope better.

    Mega Force

I had a bit of a nosey on the main site and it appears no one has one of these nitro trucks. I'm kinda interested in buying one and basically I just would like to know what someone out there thinks of it - y'know is it really worth NZ$1000 & are they sturdy and easy to maintain etc? I've only ever driven an HPI Savage but I think the Mega Force looks cooler so I'd rather get one of those. Cheers, Mike [8D]
  12. quote:Originally posted by _4-0_How about having a section on the main site about good places to drive our cars. Done in a similar way to the how to guides. You send in a few pictures, write a small description of the area. There could also be a place for people to leave reviews about the area too, such as things to look out for and directions, etc. id="quote">id="quote">Nice idea, but remember the club is worldwide so a review about somewhere in the middle of Britain wouldn't be of much use to us folks Downunder [8)] []

  14. Wow, very very very nice [^] Good job []
  15. I reckon it's now just a running joke [] Mind you I wouldn't want to be 'struck' by an R/C modified monster truck, that'd hurt []
  16. quote:Originally posted by DrewboyausIt seems there are plenty of Australians & Zew Zealanders turning up in the forums at the moment. id="quote">id="quote">Zew Zealand? Only an Aussie could make such a typo []
  17. I know you're taking the pi$$, but most Kiwis don't really talk like that. Alex, stop watching that stupid "friend un the frudge" Mainland cheese ad! [:0] **** it's lame... But, while we're on the subject: I was in the bus station in Hamilton at the start of the year and the announcer over the P.A. system who said when the next buses were leaving etc. had a real ripper Kiwi accent. Alex, you would've had a ball [] You may have even thought it was "choice." Heh heh heh...
  18. It's hot in Oz, I'll let ya know that! Hope Perth works out good for you, Del. I'm moving to Oz as well, but to Melbourne in about 9 months (well that's if everything goes smoothly). I'll definitely be coming back here though, NZ's great []
  19. quote:Originally posted by pro-4x4Well I guess that's what happens when you get too much of Merry Renco!![] Me-From Tokoroa[]- you New Plymouth?[] id="quote">id="quote">Oh well, not much point not getting merry I reckon [8D] Nah, I'm further not than that. I'm just a tad north of the Bombay hills in Papakura. Type49rs (John) is from New Plymouth.
  20. Back & forth. It's not really worth worrying about though []
  21. quote: Originally posted by cschoppe Yep they certainly did, spent about 5 mins on each rod just making sure it was right hehe Think i might just have to pull it apart and fiddle a bit more.... Not to worry, once i paint the new shell in the factory colours and the 2nd shell in a flat black primer style, its going on the shelf anyway, dont want to wreck this truck Chris id="quote">id="quote"> Trust me, don't bother fiddling with it. The four wheel steering on the Clod and now the Super Clod is more of a gimmick than anything else. If you drive the truck in reverse the front wheels will turn the most while the rears will hardly move. Unless you have a really powerful servo, no amount of messing around with the steering rods will ever make any difference. All it will do is make the car handle worse, and make the steering uneven going straight or right & left.

  25. Pfft, whatever man [] Darwin eh? You're a long way from home, I don't want to imagine how how it is up there... I'll pass on the Pumpkin parts, got plenty of spares anyway. Hope you have a good Christmas [] Same goes for the rest of ya []
