Looking good matey, loving those shocks!

Is the 3 racing ball diff any good? Seems to be a 3rd of the price of the tamiya one?
-
So how do you order off tamico? Struggling with the German? Is there a way to translate the site?
-
I'm only looking to put a GT tuned in so nothing to rapid really, it sounds like the ball diff would help to get the best from it though and most likely teach me a little when fitting.
-
Thanks for the detailed reply, so it's a good idea to really pack a gear diff with thick grease then by the sound of it. So would it be a worthwhile upgrade for my HB? It will only be used for bashing.

Hello guys, while reading on here I see lots of mention of ball diffs that seem to be fitted to the better models. Whilst looking at DT02 hop ups I see that Tamiya do a ball diff as a hop up part. So the question is what is the advantage of a ball diff over the standard geared part? and while I am at it why do people seem to want to pack a geared diff with thick grease? What is the advantage there? I have had a little look on the net but seem to get conflicting ideas so I am getting a little confused. Is there a resource that explains in simple terms these sorts of things along with car set up and how to actually set up a car? The other day I saw someone suggest they had set something like one degree of toe in... Now I know what toe in is but how the fudge do you set/measure one degree of it

I am taking pictures as I go along but the lunchie is a slow burn partly due to work and also I am waiting on the sports tuned motor and CVA's from HK, tbh though I will most likely build her stock and then take bits off to fit the new parts lol
-
Well today I got these
-
Haha! I need to finish the lunchbox first The photos seen to display ok on my pc so maybe its just my ipad that would not rotate. p.s. can anyone spot the cat paw
-
Well it arrived today I have to say it's not packaged quite like the other kits, more thrown in a box but I guess that's the budget nature of the kit. Piccys I am not sure why they will not rotate correctly as I adjusted them in photobucket...

Winner Certainly looks worth the money.

I have ordered alloy body mounts and CVA's for my Lunchie
-
Bargain! Is that an e-bay special? I never seem to spot the bargains on there and everything I watch seems to go for silly money.
-
Where's the other half? I should never of opened this thread, its making me want to buy stuff
-
Hmmm, well my refund is going through as I have had an e-mail off paypal but the card I used was cancelled yesterday by mistake after I cancelled my cheque book and the stupid girl cancelled my card by mistake... Do we have any idea what happens with that?

New release: Tamiya DT-03 Neo Fighter Buggy
Boothy replied to Mokei Kagaku's topic in General discussions
Well I am a little torn, I actually quite like it but like most modern buggy's I find it a little bland. I like the addition of 'no guts, no glory' on the wing like old school tamiya's and I think the stickers are generally pretty good. The thing is its not really a racers car so that puts it in the basher fold and for a basher I would really like to see more scale features, why cant tamiya build a new car in the style of the old kits? Not unlike what they did with the holiday buggy 2010. Take a capable chassis and give it a high detail body, driver, nerf bars etc. I am sure they would sell plenty. -
Well this morning I got a non generic looking apology for the delay in my refund so thumbs up.
-
Oh god, no idea... Fancy a clod, brat, or maybe try something different and pick up a frog so I can build my brat scorcher
-
Well I got an e-mail this morning to say my motors have been dispatched and to expect a refund within 48 hours, tbh it did look generic so I do not think its a reply to my e-mail. Still if the stuff turns up and I get my refund it will be very cheap so I'm not complaining... much
-
I'm glad its not just me

I have never actually broken a motor in, will it really make that much of a difference? For some reason sticking something electrical in water does not sit right with me.
-
You have got me guessing now
-
Ohhh interesting Well today I started my lunchbox, I got the electrics in the chassis and finished assembling the gearbox so quite a productive day really. It's just a shame the weather is so pants as I am desperate to get out and drive something
