Spot on about the front lifting when pushed forwards

The only thing I have noticed is the imbalance in the tyres, you can feel the thing bob a little when pushed forwards on both front and rear wheels. It's not something I have noticed with other cars?
It may be the bigger tyres but my monster beetle does not do it, it's obvious when you spin the front wheels. So is that normal for a lunchie? I don't think I did anything wrong putting them on the rims as they look like they are sat down fine.

Cheers guys

All very helpfull, always learning with this hobby

When you say a final wet coat of clear is that a thicker coat mate?
-
Nooooo must avoid buying!!!! I am not looking at this thread again that picture got me straight in my man bits

In honesty I don't think I am either
but I do want a pretty good finish on my next project and was using lunchie as a bit of practice. -

Cheers guys, its hard bodies I am really interested in getting the best finish with. So its three stage, prime, paint, clear?
do you rub down in between coats or just polish up afterwards?

Delamere forest looks like a really good spot for a meet if google images are anything to go by
-
Are there any good guides about on the net? I am going to do my lunchbox and want to get a nice glossy finish.
I have seen a few mentions of using car wax or a clear coat top layer, just looking for hints and tips on how to get a good finish.

I'm in Ellesmere Port so not far either. I've been threatening to scope out Delamere forest at some point as I reckon that would be a great location?
Sounds good, I'll go take a look now as not heard of it.

I'm in Windermere - currently don't have any runners :-)
You'll have to get one mate, I'm up there a lot in summer. Bowness really at Windermere aquatic, there is a cracking park over the road and a cut through to the wardens place which has a beach and some cool looking jumps.
Nice website by the way.

Private video mate, the excitement of what u can do with a cake board is killing me

Quiet post day for me but just ordered 2x rx and 4x servos

So DF03 not 02? Or are they the same? In the tuning article I read it suggested tamiya 53791 DF02 universal shafts. ( obviously I would sub with a 3racing equivalent.

As I am looking to fit a DT02 ball diff I need to get some universals but I am having a bit of trouble finding them for the DT02. I have read that the DF02 universals are a direct fit, is this the case as Banzai have them so I may as well order with the ball diff.

They fit no prob at all Andy. Mine are off my Stadium Blitzer. I assume they are the norm. They are a direct swap.

Thanks Buddy, I need to get my hop ups ordered ready for my build

Mine is almost done!.. She is stock apart from Carson Chrome wheels, Oil CVA Shocks currently, Carbon shock tower brace and an HPI Saturn Motor. I'm just waiting for some custom body decals to be printed and we are ready to chew some dirt.

Do the CVA's fit no problem? I thought I read somewhere that there is a clearance issue with the HB shell?

Hello Chris,
I have a good mate in Bredbury (well just outside now) so do get over your way a little. There must be a few more TC members in the NW to try and get a meet going and hopefully some good ideas on where to have it.

The Durga uses pins in the rear, but an ultra thin hex at the front. Personally I would swap the wheel axles out for hex type ones so that gives you a wider range of Tamiya wheels to choose from.James

Is that pretty straight forwards? Would df03 axels fit?
-
The Durga normally uses pin type wheel connection, and there is very little thread left on the axle after fitting the normal wheels - adding a hex adaptor and then the hex wheel probably won't leave enough thread on the locknut to secure the wheel.
Shows my lack of knowledge, I thought all modern buggy's used hex's :-(
That's a shame, I love the Durga but am not keen on the dish wheels, I fancied doing something different with either lightweight or df03 wheels.
-
Would those pink lightweight wheels fit a DB01 Durga?

Just wondering if there is anyone up this end? I live in Bolton but do not know anyone locally who shares my interest.
Just wondering if there are any local TC members or bashing meets? I tend to end up messing on my own and can't convince the wife she wants a toy

I do spend quite a few weekends up in Windermere which I have been checking out and has some great spots for bashing about if a little over populated.

I am tring to work out if firmer oil would help? I am guessing this would make them firmer to push down but if the springs are weak they would struggle more with the return?
Also what difference would the pistons make? I have fitted the two hole type, would the three hole ones make them softer still but help the return?
I am confused

Sorry mate I can't help but keep plugging I am really looking forwards to seeing this finished
