  10. after spending half the day fixing bikes,i have given up on the idea of an orange bowler with black bits, so ive sprayed the thing completely volkwagen diamond black with a view to having it black with orange bits (sorry mods i`ll remove that bit)
  11. indeed it was.when i was doing my pumpkin you had the website withit on iirc.ive got it bookmarked somewhere so i`ll have a look later on.hope theres no plagarism lawsuits mind thanks igbandy i`ve got some of the tamiya stuff lying around i`ll give it a try
  12. not only the wallet but the wife as well!! give me a couple of days on the photos ryck. at present i`m trying to correct the overspray without stripping the whole thing.i could have cried when i took the tape off.its not much but its the fact that i took care over it and its just enough to spoil the look .next in the line is some lights for the front.perhaps some cheap torch reflectors and lenses cut in somehow with the original led lights from my pumpkin.I seem to remember that someone said pound shop keyring torches were a nice size.i`ll have to search the thread.just as an aside do you have to use tamiya tape to mask up or or will ordinary masking tape do?is that where i`ve gone wrong.actually come to think of it its the second one i`ve modded.i rigged the lights and spots up on my pumpkin as my first.
  13. I`ve got another one on ebay have a look here any questions give me a shout the body is included but the biccy tin isnt

  17. best idea then is to have a lookherefirst to see if theres anything that catches your eyethen look hereto get an idea of whats in your price range, then come back on the forums and get peoples opinoin of what your chosen car is like to build and how it goes etc hope that helps
  18. what he said if your only a first time builder you might want to look at something at the easier end, mebbes a two wheel drive buggy with an already built gearbox, rather than something four wheel drive with all the shafts and the all rest of it but as rch said it depends on what you want from it
  19. What about makeing/marketing the shell as a body only then reproducing things like mirror spoilers/wings grills as add ons?would that get round the licensing laws?
  20. First off an apology.it must seem as if the only time i come on here is in a blind panic so sorry. Right ive sprayed the black bits onto my wildcat and i made sure everything was taped off properly.the only trouble is i have left it overnight to dry so i didnt pull the paint off with the tape and when ive just removed the tape the black has run under the masking tape in places onto the orange.how the badword do i get rid of the overspray without taking the orange of from underneath?i have tried wet and dry but not with any success.will rubbung compound do it?or any other suggestions
  21. I got me bowler from the sorting office, fitted two toilets, tiled a shower, came home and had more fun than ive had i years.i`ve sorted the body mounts on a brat, fitted my bowler shell.gave it a good sanding, then primed it ready for another go with halfords best tomorrow
  22. cheers ryck but with some worktop jointers from b and q(you know the aluminium strips) i have put them between where the mount fit on the chjassis and then the mounts are fitted on to the strips.ive also been able to move the mounts back over the rear axle as well that way.its only the first one ive sort of modified in this way and i can see whats so appealling about doing it
  23. I`ve just picked up my bowler from the sorting office. and when i`ve got it home it looks spot on.one thing i did notice about the abs version, its a lot heavier than i thought and its nowhere near as flimsy as i feared.it seems to be a nice solid shell. one quick question though,i`m planning on putting it on a brat chassis and wheels but how would i extend the rear body mount cos they look like they need to raise up by 2"? any ideas anyone?
  24. jaques your a gent as always cheers
  25. Right iv`e searched through a few threads but most of them just tell me how to paint.what i`m struggling with is what paint do use for lexan shells and what paint do you use for abs shells?i know theyre both a type of polycarbonate but is there a difference in what they take? is it acryllic for abs and polycarb paint for lexan? any advice welcome cheers guys phil
