i have had both and run them both down the local park before with the boat club going full tilt and havent experienced any real interference or difference btween the two(might explain why a couple of boats woudnt work and a duck got a rather nasty shock ....i jest people) i got a topfire 5 channel 2.4ghz for my scania and it seems ok.no spring return on the throttle though, but for 45 notes i`m not going to moan

i think the mk 3 was about the last good one, they went off the boil after that.FWD is never going to be as much fun as RWD but the mk rs turbo`s were as close as it gets. How i managed to have mine and still keep my license however is anyones guess...

when i saw the back end of the beemer i got meself all excited and thought theyd done a proper mk1 escort rather than the kamtec version, think we need the full family of escorts ,mk1 mk2 and mk3 rs or xr3i

Good looking gardeners motor, but im with mongoose on the hard body issue, not because of any dislike i have for the lexans, but given the abuse that this chassis will get(probably/possibly used as a crawler lite?)will the lexan end up ripped and battered or will it really be up to the job of an off roader?

+1 for me.it is a seriously good looking truck.i can see a fleet coming here

Sport Tuned 540s,
knotty replied to Eric2.5's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
put one in my blackfoot and it is a fair differance over a standard 540.I guess you can tell the torque difference due to the fact it wheelspins with the ST and doesnt with the normal 540 -
going from the scania R470 there isnt that much room to drop it because the wheel arches are fairly snug on the wheels, and i think you are even more limited, not so much by the dampers but the leaf springs. Mine seens to be fairly stable, probably because the chassis rails and the gear box are fairly low down keeping the c.o.g down.still higher than a tourer but should be low enough for some kind of speed increase. I seem to remember reading somewhere they will take a sport tuned quite comfortably but higher than that i`m not sure

Have I?I seem to remember it was in the offing but never got any further because of the same info you gave me on the subject!! It is possible and it is on one of my threads but i cant remember who did it. Its the guy who did his to make a sort of monster barracuda.or I asked the question on the main board as well a week or so ago about putting lunchbox wheels on a tl-01 chassis, theres a few answers othere as well try this gentlemanor search through my posts on the general discussions board.

out of that lot id say modelsport as its only in otley west yorkshire, but best off give them a buzz and see when they can get it sent.If youve got time/transport would you not be better off nipping over?

Havent got a clue yet what the plan is,but some sort of suspension upgrade and perhaps motors changed to crawlers at some pointso i` mights as well ask now is it viable without changing gearing etc?Or is it a good one to bang in a couple of sport tuned for a bit more blasting power?. Other than that i`ll see what develops

Today thanks to a day off and the house to myself i have had chance to finish my Blackfoot. I have gone with a metallic purple(no surprise there then!!) BUT with a bit of a chameleon flip to it.After a trip to morley models last night i came home and give the body a good sanding to get the sheen off it then a few coats of Halfords grey primer and left to stand overnight in the airing cupboard.(the mrs nearly went mad this morning when she went in to get a towel out for her shower.Oh well in bother again!!!) For the base coats i used fastrax fast finish pearl purple. left it to dry over lunch then this afternoon another few coats of the same firms jade chameleon. I know they are for polycarbonate bodys but the result on hard type bodies is fantastic. The jade is a clear laquer with metallic flecks in but really does give the base colour a flip. topped it off with a couple of layers of clear laquer and done. Ive done a few pictures but you really need to see them in sequence to get the full effect of the paint. anyway hope you like purple red flip green flip
