  1. I think they won't actually release a new Cavalier shell/box art for that shell, but they may re-release the already existing Opel Vectra JTCC ;)

fair enough.that`ll teach me to check first!! Should be able to source sone rac/autotrader btcc decals from somewhere for it though.but what about the weighting? a bit of playing around to get it sorted or will it be ok "from the box" as it were

  2. Oh really, I hate Tamiya :) These releases are really exciting!!! :) I really like the design of the FF03 from what I can see; It may finally give the Yokomo YR-F2 a run for it's money against another FWD tourer? - the drifting developed chassis seems like a nice bit of kit as well; better protected than the front end of a TA03F, still a nice bias to the front, 2009/10 development - and then of course the 2WD buggy, of which I am 110% percent sure I am getting one! :) Am I the only one who likes the mini pin tires on front instead of rib tires btw?

PS: Thanks Tamiya for not resizing the image itself, but by using some script in the page ;) :

with the servo on the side of the ff-03 i take it the receiver/speed controll will balance it out if fitted on the right hand side of the battery(looking from front on) otherwise its going to be messing about with lead or similar. But is that not going to be front end heavy? i know on a fwd you need the grip over front wheels for steering and drive but you still need a balanced car

And on the subject of bodyshells what about a release of the old BTCC Vauxhall cavalier(Opel Vectra "A" for our continental brothers And some sort of Holden nonsense for our antipodean members :) )As Won the championship in the hands of John Clelland?

  3. Im looking to get a rally car next and was wondering are these any good for light park bashing/ back garden bashing etc? What peoples experience of them?

Doesnt matter which shell it is cos i`m likely to have 2 or 3 seperate ones

  4. Started building a Mad Rat but I'm am spending more time identifying the right screw's, than building anything lol

stick with it.i bought the young un a magnum for xmas and slated it for the build quality and instructions on here.but its as mad as a box of frogs to drive and good fun to be had with it

  5. I put that I will take offers for a reason....that being I dont mind people making an offer and there is no way anyone CAN insult me! I've had it all and nothing bothers me! :D

If its too low I'd bargain upwards its not like I'm going to hunt them down and take revenge! ;)

    Cheers

    Rich

ok hows about £10, two bored kids and a nagging mrs then? i`ll even throw a cat in as a sweetner :P
  6. So far ive had to do my tamiya related pennance!!Due to my overexuberance with the stanley knife, paints, glues and tamiya`s with fast motors and soft rubber there was more skid marks on the kitchen table than a drunks undies,so ive been forced into sanding off and re staining the kitchen table.

Still had time to paint my defender though. The thinking was if she`s out and the tables getting done might as well have a quick inside spray session. Now just to get rid of the smell before she`s home :D

  7. Just another quickie on lexan and silver paints.Ive just done an HPi landrover shell in silver(complete pain to mask all the arches and stuff by the way.but another story for another thread) given it a full can of silver polycarb paint and i have never seen owt so see through since the mrs got ready for bed last night!!!

It looks ok looked at obliquely on the table or such but with light behind it its still completely see through. Is there something im missing here? or is it just a case of more layers till the thing is solid?

  8. I remember once putting up some used Avante parts on TC a few years ago (it was all the bits n pieces left over from restoring 5 Avantes), I put them on as a "Lot" and asked a very low price ( i think it was something like £30), if I could have been bothered at the time and split them all and sold on fee-pay I could have probably gotten over £80, but I was busy and wanted rid of them as they were cluttering up my workbench at the time.

Anyway after lots of low-ball offers of £10,£15 and like from people saying they only worth this n that (telling me who is a seller and collector lol), one chap even offered me £15 if I would do free postage!!.

Anyway I had enough so sacrificed 2 hours of my time and listed the parts individually on ebay and they all sold (except the odd few bits) for over £120 so after ebay fees I was still left with £100, moral of the story is;-

    1. Dont sell in "Lots"

    2. if you want to sell at right price sell on fee-pay and take the 10% hit in fees.

    3. If you want to sell on trades list at VERY low prices (Clearly marked) and preferably with free postage ;-)

Tbh thats why i dont make offers on here.I dont want to insult people by making an offer that doesnt suit.

But this is somewhere i come all the time for advice and stuff and I think thats part of it whereas on ebay I dont know them, will probably have no further contact with them (apart from people like tony(europro)) so if an offer upsets them its their problem

  9. Hi all,

just wondering if its harder to sell things on here as unlike ebay there is no way to tell if a seller/buyer is good or bad? I've got two cars for sale and I thought I'd have least one question but nothing! Is it because I'm marked as a "newbie" and people are scared that I'm dodgy?

I myself have bought 2 items off here and to be honest I was a little nervous as to wether they things would turn up but I was misplaced as they arrived and arrived fast too! So what is it? Price? Newbie status? Or what? :P

    Cheers

    Rich

Nowt to do with trust, for£100 notes id have the volvo off you like a shot matey.except for two things

  10. Ladies and Gentlemen,

Could anyone advise me on where I can walk into a shop (remember that ?) and buy the aformentioned motor in the North East of England ? Preferably the

TOON !! (Beatties is apparently long gone...... sniff sniff)

I REALLY dont want to get one via the internet as I am only visiting the UK for a week and don't have time .

These things are a ****** to get hold of in Poland :D)

    Thanks.

    Andy

As much as it breaks my heart to help an obvious mag  , Even worse to get hold of up there by all accounts, theres nowhere left in Durham i know of and modelzone in the metrocenter is more static kits with very little spares. You could try phils models in north shields but thats about all i can think of.

Unless you want any motor not just an actual tamiya ST,then you could try either modelactive at chester le street or much-more racing over at stanley

  11. The liquid I use is called Plastic Weld made by E.M.A Model Supplies Ltd., and works perfect. As mentioned by WillyChang it actually welds the two pieces together practically in an instant and is not messy like glue. The glue won't stick styrene very well at all. For £2.50 and with liberal brushing I've still got 3/4 of the 57ml bottle after building all of the Garage Scene.

I use 0.5mm sheets when you want to bend and manipulate and 1-2mm for all the strong builds. 'I' beams and 'L' angles in various sizes are a perfect for joints etc.. Honestly let your imagination go wild as you can literally build anything and with it not being messy you will have loads of confidence in no time.

Tools wise it's a sharp knife set which you can score then bend to split for a perfect line, ruler, mitre box set and scissors.

    All the best

    Chris :)

Where do you get the I beams and L angled styrene from?Anyone got any links for uk based stores that do them?

  12. Instead of being on here asking about cheating,er bait boats sorry, you could try going into the garden and practicing your casting :) just dont overshoot and hit your neighbours brand new car(not that ive ever done it, only heard about it ...honestly.... :) )

Seriously though Does it have to be 380`s? you can pick up 540`s for peanuts these days and run them off a teu103bk,well sealed in a condom it should handle both motors(its what its designed for) and be waterproof enough for what you need.As for the mtroniks i think some of them are waterproof as standard but i think yours will be too low a rating. As far as i know when you have two motors you should Double the turn rating, IE two 28 turn 540`s would be safest with a 14 turn esc.but wait and see what the others say on the matter

  13. Two tl-01s, Three technically with a tl-01b

  14. I thought you would have broken bucket loads of B2's and B11's jumping ot off a 3 foot drop Knotty!

I got home from work yesterday (Fri Evening), grabbed the highlift and a spare battery, and went across the road to a new subdivision where they are earthmoving a lot of soil and bashed 'til the sun went down! I had so much fun, great stress reliever :(

    cheesy little cell vid:

    http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y62/JFRWG...nt=Highlift.flv

I thought something would have gone but gods honest even the head ons into a steel washing post didnt even mark it :) Really good fun

  15. Only things i am thinking of doing is putting a slightly faster motor in it and fitting ballbearings.

I will have to check the Cuda shell out.

yeah you will.its a seriously good looking monster cuda!! And the baja`s TL-01b is a great buggy for bashing

  16. My way of unwinding, now that the nights are getting lighter and before the garden gets set for the summer involves several 3 foot high flower beds, a stepped lawn and abusing a clodbuster. But its left me with a question, How on earth do you kill a clodbuster? For the third night in a row i have just ABUSED the truck in the back garden, jumping off one lawn, three feet down to the next and the thing just rolls a few times or hits the washing post head on and just gets up and goes again!! With the two sport tuneds in its not exactly slow either for a big truck.Great fun and beats coming in stressed!!
