Hi all. When you spray a lexan with a white body are you best off backing it with another darker colour before you do the windows and lights to prevent any of the smoke grey for the windows showing through the white? or will it be ok just to let the white dry over night then do the PS 31 smoke?
Or would you do a darker backing anyway to make the white pop out a bit more?

As your from Dewsbury, would that be Morley Models that have it?
I cannot think of many others too near.
Dont worry, I wont be rushing over to buy it

nah,it was from Modelsport over in Otley. Thought id put it in the original thread to be honest, no cloak and dagger stuff intended, just having a braindead night last night

Anyhoo,Ive been over today and will be having a start on it tonight

I've never owned a TT chassis but always wondered about them myself. Last time I spent any length of time in the hobby shop though, it was clear that Tamiya heavily supported this chassis. The most hop-ups available for this chassis than any any other model and the draw I think for this model is also the price point. some members have made it clear that they think the model is ****, however if Tamiya is supporting this chassis to this extent then it means it has reached a very high level of popularity and they believe it is a viable chassis to invest in. It really sounds like a sweet deal to me, as long as the shell is in decent condition and nothing is broken on it. The radio, charger and battery are probably worth at least $50 I would say, but I'm no expert.
Sorry forgot to mention its all brand new from a modelshop

Evening all,ive seen a deal advertised and for £129.00 im getting an itchy wallet.I think its a good deal but thought id ask you lot
Its a TT-01 BMW 320i WTC
Tamiya forward and reverse electronic speed control
Acoms 2-channel 27mHz stick type RC system
Ansmann AC9 trickle charger
Ansmann 1900mAh 7.2v stick pack batter
for the sake of an extra £20 over the price of standard kit only, might as well have some of that as i fancy a car rather than a truck for a change, but how good are the TT`s and whats best to run them on? I`m presuming tarmac/solid floor but are they any good on other surfaces?

Man thats one serious ford obsession!!my focus is mint i bought it off ebay about a year or so ago and it had never been run.the mirrors and roof spoiler are a little yellow but otherwise its like new. its a little dusty in the pics as i had just got it but squeeky clean now

-
what i did in the end.used the pattern that comes with the kit manual, made it out of 2mm plasticard and sprayed it halfords silver.Oh and blu tac seems to hold it on ok plus its easy removed if you ever need toHey fella's
I'm quite a fan of using the shifting and steering gates that come with Futaba 4G/4VWD channel sets, but I'm guessing they dont come with any of the other 4 channel sets (e.g, 4YF 4EXA etc)? I realise you can buy aftermarket graphite shift gates and I have just purchased two from Stella Models, but I would also be keen on getting some of the steering ones that came with my 4VWD. Anybody know where these can be had?
If I cant find any, I will have to get off my lazy backside and make one out of plasticard or carbon/graphite sheet

Cheers
Neil

That modded two stick is brilliant.

Hey Knotty,
The gearboxes are in mirror, and each engine uses one of them. So nothing will happen if you remove one of the gearboxes, I mean the inside of it.
One more question:
In theory the Dual Hunter runs with 25-30 Kph with stock Mabuchi 27T engines, I also ordered the 21T pinions. So if I put a 14 T engine will it run twice as fast?
so you just need to remove the, diff gears and dogbones and the outer shaft should just be like stub axles then?
-
yeah thats what i thought about the extra weight, but wasnt sure what would happen if you removed the innards of the front gearbox
-
the blackfoot extreme is just a stub axle at the front whereas the front on a dual hunter is a full gearbox,so even if you remove the motor, and theres no shaft or belt connecting them your still driving the front diff as well arent you? unless you can remove the diffs and just have them operate as some kind of stub axles on the front?
-
woudnt you lose any gains through the fact that your still having to drive the front diffs?or am i missing something
-
On these brushless systems how would you go about linking up two motors(yes its clod related!!) would you get two motors and run it through a higher amp esc as in 2 x 35 amp motors and a 70 amp? or could you run two esc`s from one battery/reciever?

At last the decals for the gravedigger have arrived.Bless her she can get dressed properly now
-
Metal whip aerial as well .
Very interesting

thats what i noticed as well at 0.45.some kind of mobile rocket battery?
-
-
where as ive lived in yorkshire too long and am now that tight wi brass i just prefer a car thats original supplied parts are decent to start with

-
Anyone got a clue how to set them up?
-
The Integy gear is a replacement for the diff, just take the diff assembly out, drop the Integy gear in.
Bottom left in pic

I know im thick but you just take the diff out and put the one you said in with the other gears yeah?
-
Is that not the idea though, flog the kits cheap knowing that they`ll make thier money on the range of hop ups and spares that ansmann sell?
-
I wonder if i got the earlier before the upgrades version of the magnum then.Things i found was no tools supplied, clear as mud build manual, half the screws would get stuck in the grp chassis when driving them in and as a result the heads rounded off. runs ok for the young un like but for a decent basic basher truggy style, I would rather spend the extra and get a mad bull and a few hop ups for it

the pumpkin is one ugly looking truck.
but if you are not sure which one to get, it's best to get both. works for me!
worked for me as well. The toxic handling twins are quite happily sitting sde by side on my shelf as i type.
The body mounts are quite crud on the pumpkin but they arent that rare
The chrome edition is nice as a shelfer but once scratched is knackered and you are stuck with the factory colour scheme(says me who did his non chrome edition box art black anyway!!!)
yes i had the chrome one in my avatar, must get that cahnged now though, perhaps a nice family portrait lunchbox, pumpkin and their grandaddy clod

Looks like its playtime for the clod!! Think i`ll get dressed and try a maiden snow run with it
