  1. Anyone got 4 Universal shafts that they are trying to get rid of? I need some but I don't trust the GPM/Yeah racing ones. Let me know and give me a price. Pav
  2. Guys, Servo Savers...any ideas? I'm assuming the one that comes stock is useless since I have shredded 3 servo's now. Just bought a Bluebird servo from Fusion Hobbies, but think i probably need a proper servo saver to go with it. Anyone got any ideas? Any good ones out there that I should know about? The one in my DF03MS is good, but not sure it will work with the TD. Let me know. Pav
  3. It's getting sunny again and it's time to start playing with the cars again!! Firstly, what's the difference between the two ESC's above? I have the sonik4 super E-truck in my Twin Det with 19 turn motors. I want to speed it up!! What's the most it will take with a 4900NiMh 7.2v battery. I want to put 550 cans in there but not sure if they will speed the thing up or not?? If not, can I use two 11 turn motors or will the gearing not take it? Any ideas? Cheers, Pav
  4. Any Idea if I would need new front and rear arms to give it more width and to be able to fit bigger wheels/tyres onto it? Anyone know which are interchangeable with the Ta03?
  5. Right, I've had an awesome idea... I want to change this on road rally car into a truggy...how difficult will it be? I think I will need new front and rear arms(no idea which ones will fit), dogbones, tyres...etc etc Has anyone done this before and if so does anyone know what parts would be approximately interchangable with this chassis? Any help would be a bonus. Pav
  6. Well, I currently run an Ansmann 3700MaH 7.2v battery. Never really had any problems with it, but if someone knows anymore info as to whether it will run fine with brushless, please let me know!! I don't want anything to blow up!!
  7. Guys, thanks for the replies. I have a DF03 MS which is what i would originally shove the brushless into(looking at a nice and cheap EZRUN 8.5/7.5 turn). I only play with the car once a month(if that) so not too worried about the gearings getting ruined. I want to get a nice cheap car to break so was asking about the slipper.
  8. Guys, Very quickly, do I have to have a slipper clutch if I want to use brushless? This is for any car, not a specific model. Cheers, Pav
  9. and no silly answers like I didn't drive it in the snow again...cos that aint gonna happen. I have never had so much fun with the TD!!
  10. Alright guys? Hope everyone is well! Long time no speak. Need a question answered. I drove my TD in the snow a while ago then put it near the radiator to dry off. It must be about 4months later and when I came ot play with it again I noticed loads of the screws and the dog bones had rust on them! Has this happened to anyone else before and if so what did you do to combat it and prevent it in the future? Any help please, Pav
  11. That's what i used when i did it. Use the pliers he uses they are very useful because they are quite weighty. If you don't have any then use some blutak to hod things down but be careful. It likes to get very tacky when hot...use the pliers!!
  12. I just use normal bog standard super glue, either bostik or other...works a treat, try not getting on the outside of the tyre cos it goes shiny! Excellent and cheap though
  13. I have both and i assume it would be the DF-03 because it is made of the newer plastics...love them both though
  14. I have an original Fire dragon which i stopped using because I couldn't get the parts, but then found a guy called Tony's Tamiya Parts on ebay. He was very useful and had every part needed. He was very knowledgable regarding old stock. i assume that once they stop producing the rere's parts will start to dry up, but this guy knows if there are other parts that are interchangable. Hope that helps. PS go for a DF-03 (MS if you can still find one) it's better than the stock DF-03
  15. Well as for the MS, both modelsport and fusionhobbies have stopped selling it(they were the cheapest in the UK). It was a limited edition because Tamiya must have been making a loss on each one sold. Sure you will be able to find one on ebay or rcmart still has one but it will cost quite a bit more than your budget with shipping. That's a real shame because I really rated this model with all the hop ups... Doesn't mean you won't find one on another site though, I just haven't looked. Suppose you will have to go for the DF-03/DB-01 but really search around for the cheapest, every penny counts in this credit crunch!! There are lots of good websites out there offering good prices. Keep it stock to start with then spend more over the next few months, means you don't spend so much in one go. Good luck with the searching.
