  1. Yes, as I wrote in my post. Stupid aftermarket manufacturers copying the plastic parts not the Tamiya hop up!
  2. Heating and bending will not work. I'll post a pic of gpm, tamiya stock plastic and 53226 tonight when I get home from work.
  3. ALL the non Tamiya ones are just copies of the stock Tamiya plastic part. Tamiya hop up alloy C hub 53226 is redesigned for less caster giving more front end grip when turning. On a real car more caster is usually a good thing however the df01 front gear case which was used in ta01 & ta02 has 12 degrees of caster built into the lower suspension hinge pin mount. 53226 reduces the angle at the hub so the tyre has more contact patch on turns. Positive caster increases negative camber when the wheels are turned.
  4. I still have my original TA02SW Taisan Porsche, it was my first rc car. They understeer like a pig unless you fit the genuine Tamiya front C hubs. Too much caster stock, the Tamiya C hubs reduce the caster to more on-road friendly levels.
  5. Vintage ones not big bores will fit
  6. I think this chassis is more aimed at onroad releases, the blurb states that the mf-01x is the off road version of the chassis! That would be one reason why they released it with a rear motor.
  7. The Tomahawk is the only non Tamiya I've ever really really wanted so I'm VERY happy to see this
  8. I have a superstock RZ in my Taisan I bought new in 1996. That and a whole bunch of other mods! Probably the most valuable part of these cars are the silver gear cases. The original body is easy to spot compared to a rere btw, so if the shell is in really good nick I'd pick up a rere shell and run that
  9. I run a hobbywing ezrun 5.5 in mine. Dynas need a lot of motor!
  10. I wonder if it would fit on my mountain rider lol
  11. I have a pair of the bf8/9 repro's spare, the ones that need to be bent up into shape. .
  12. If the gearset is different in this thing to the dt03 the gearing might not be too bad. Does anyone have a manual scan yet?
  13. Who's gonna come up with a Wild Womble?
  14. Sorry dr carlos but you could not be more wrong! I run high kv brushless in a lot of my cars with steel pinions and I have never worn a spur even the slightest! Alloy pinions are rubbish, end of story.
  15. The hard anodized ones last much longer, the problem is alloy has a much much higher wear rate than plastic!
  16. Does the DB01 use arms that can be interchanged?
  17. Just get an XV01! I have driven every Tamiya rally chassis and I can confirm that the xv handles the best, you can get some lurid powerslides going and bring it back every time! Worst handling for me is the TB01,and that thing gets rocks wedged in the steering every 2 minutes. . TT chassis aint a patch on the xv either.
  18. Man this is off the chain lol.. I will dig through my mountain of AMC magazines and see if I have a spare copy of that issue to send you, otherwise I will have to scan or take pics of the pages
