  1. I have always run the 20T/65T combo in mine with the stock Johnson motor on 2S.
  2. I love Mini. I wish Tamiya would finally re-RE the Mini Cooper but as a previous poster noted, the license with BMW expired. I post my mini builds and Memes on Instagram @MchassisRC . Here are some mini related ones šŸ˜…
  3. I am building an M06 with all hopups, Tcs legal, and black/silver everything. Build is on my Instagram @mchassisrc
  4. As Chris mentioned, it looks like a lot of parts lifted from TB-05. Tamiyablog posted the manual if you want to take a closer look. https://tamiyablog.com/2020/07/tamiya-58681-formula-e-gen2-car-championship-livery-tc-01-chassis-assembly-manual/
  5. Check out my Instagram @mchassisrc

  6. I can't believe they are releasing on M05 chassis
  7. Wheelbase is 239mm. I donā€™t have exact width but I know itā€™s wider than traditional M body. I recall the beetle being 165mm and would estimate bus to be ~10mm wider.
  8. I opted for the Defender because I didnt want the chrome body/chassis bits. I was tempted with the Isuzu kit though as it came with a light kit.
  9. I stopped keeping track of costs when my M06 hop ups hit 200 . Iā€™m a sucker for the trick hop up bits.
  10. Tamiyausa.com has a decent list of hopups. The link is at the kit page.
  11. Glad to hear you got it sorted out! Itā€™s a fun chassis if you spend some time with it. Iā€™ve given my M06 the treatment and while it definitely isnā€™t as simple to drive as something like the M05, itā€™s much more rewarding when you get it right. I also appreciate Tamiya releasing the Karmann Ghia and Bus to add to my RR Arsenal. I am probably alone in this, but M06 is my 2nd favorite Tamiya chassis (SRB being #1).
  12. The clones are blatant stealing Tamiya IP. Buying one is supporting this theft. If you canā€™t afford one and must have one, keep an eye out on used market, there are plenty of deals to be had. It is not rational to conclude Tamiya is ripping us off by comparing Tamia list price to the clone price. Tamiya isnā€™t making much money period (see link) https://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?/topic/75632-tamiya-financials/
  13. A 1/24 model of a Chevrolet Fleetline would be a good start.
  14. If you got a shorter end bell motor like the Tamiya 53251 or 380 motor with adapter, you could technically make a front motor MF01X by swapping arms/uprights and sorting out the steering. I have considered doing this myself but too many projects ahead of it right now.
  15. I havenā€™t installed them yet but will post a pic when done
  16. I like fastener express mostly because they sell plain (unannodized) and black alum screws.
  17. I thought the ā€œunlimitedā€ and ā€œmodifiedā€ classes were for the 50yos and other ā€œkids at heart.ā€ The serious adults who break in motors, zap cells, and all the other tricks that then race box stock class against kids never seemed right to me though. They should have age limit or have a separate ā€œadult box stockā€ class.
  18. Iā€™m a bit of a Tamiya snob in that I always prefer a Tamiya bit if at all possible. Iā€™ve found the rere ā€œFighting Buggyā€ chassis to be a suitable hop-up as itā€™s much thicker than sand scorcher and readily available. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F222686891465
  19. https://www.fastener-express.com/metric-blue-aluminum-button-head-socscrews.aspx I have used these in the past with success.
  20. Try tinkercad.com. No software needed and letā€™s you get your feet wet quickly. Then when you start to realize itā€™s limitations get a hobby license version of fusion360.
  21. Is the website super slow for anyone else? for quick reference manuals, I use this https://www.tamiya.com/english/rc/manuals.htm
  22. These are pretty slick if you can get past the fact that the cost is on par with some Kit costs. My gf got me some as a gift when they were on sale. https://www.cb2.com/acrylic-storage-shelf/s215620
  23. I used to feel the same way. Mini4wd racing is a pure engineering/build challenge as opposed to rc racing which is highly dependent on driver skill. In mini4wd racing, the best engineered solution to the track wins. In rc racing the best driver can beat the best engineered car or the best driver/car can be taken out in a crash.
  24. You should be able to make a set using pn 9225153. Tamiya USA has them for $5. Hope this helps. They look the same size but check the neoscorcher manual to confirm dimensions.
