  1. List coming next week I have the week off and the house is all sorted, so now I can concentrate on thinning out the collection. Manta Ray re-re NIB open to offers now, bits and pieces and other models coming soon!
  2. Hey guys, Ok, so the house sale has gone through (!), we move in 4 weeks and I have the whole of next week off work to begin selling stuff! There is lots to come, but I thought I'd start with the Manta Ray BNIB It's the 2005 limited re-release, it's never been touched and has basically sat on a shelf since purchase. The box is unsealed and I'll take some pics later but it's all in perfect condition. Anyway, please feel free to make me an offer - I'll stick it up on eBay next week if no one here wants it, I see one based in Mexico for $300 but the box on that one is damaged apparently. I might start a new thread for all the other bits and pieces tomorrow, or perhaps different threads for each category, I dunno, but feel free to ask questions about the MR here and I'll keep an eye on it. More to come.... Pete
  3. Hi folks - good to see the community still thriving! Long story short, I took a backseat after actual life got in the way, and it's getting in the way again, which is weirdly why I'm back. It's time to sell up some stuff as I'm moving house ;D I literally have cupboards and boxes full of Tamiya stuff, mostly vintage. I even found a new in box Manta Ray (re-release but still....)! Couple of mint Monster Beetles, an F150, Blitzer Beetle... loads of cool stuff, vintage hop ups etc etc The Mrs is going mad about where it's going to all go in the new house and to be honest, it's just gathering dust and might as well go to others who will love and cherish it as I once did (and still kinda do really....). I'm not getting rid of all of it, no way, but some of it should probably go ;D So I'll get a list together in the next couple of weeks and renew my membership for the other section too allowing me to flog on there. I'll just ebay what peeps here aren't interested in I guess. I'm desperately trying not to look at the other areas of the forum as I'll only get sucked in and change my mind! Oh, maybe just a peek at the vintage section.....
  4. hey roadog1aj - 2 G1's reserved for you I have a spare Blitzer cone but "spare" MB cones with mounting holes are hard to come by me thinks! I found a thorp diff with counter gear, some gold nerf bars for a frog and a few other cool hopups. I ran out of time with the pictures yesterday but I'll get some more up today - lots to come.
  5. I have three reds, three blacks and a few more in gold, say five. I'll reserve you a red and a gold no worries, £10 each + P&P - all stock must go! The grey chassis came off a lightly used and then stored original frog. I've taken some pics, I'll up them in a moment.
  6. Ok, so here's the Blackfoot. The chassis in in great condition, no cracks or repairs, same for the shell! Other points to note: * Original decals used in retoration * Driver is original and was painted 20 odd years ago, I didn't have the heart to repaint! * Wheels are custom aluminium, milled from solid billet, very shiny and very strong! * Comes with new Sport Tuned Motor, TEU101BK ESC and 27Mhz receiver * New parts wherever needed, no repairs or cracks anywhere * Shocks are more or less new throughout! * Missing the back window (I think I have it but has some paint on it from memory... will find it!) * Front window only held on by 3 screws, one mounting point is broken * No servo/ESC cover but these are fairly easy to come by Any questions please ask. All offers considered. Will ship more or less anywhere, but costs might be quite high outside of UK due to size? P&P at cost when confirmed at post office anyway.
  7. OK, first up we have my first ever restro project. She came to me in a box of bits and sat in a loft for a while until I had time to restore it fully and it took more hours than I care to think about! She's had a repair to the underside of the shell by the front nose mount but now stronger than ever before, not that you'll be running it! Other points to note: * Decals are aftermarket, high quality reprints * Painted with original Tamiya TS8 * Shell was completely stripped down, sanded, filled, smoothed and repainted with original Tamiya TS8 * Parts replaced wherever needed so no cracks, stresses, repairs to the chassis etc etc - fit for the shelf! * Does have the Servo/ESC cover fitted, taken off so you could see the servo and ESC! * Comes with Servo, TEU101BK, 27Mhz receiver, HPI 27T motor * New gearbox internals, sideplates * Bearings all round including the gearbox * Reconditioned shocks (new seals, lube, springs) * Aftermarket Chassis Brace fitted * Wheels and tires in excellent condition * Underside has minor running scuffs * Comes with unpainted driver! (can take photo if you want me to) * Can also chuck in a manual and a transmitter for a member of TC Any questions just ask. All offers considered. I'll leave it here for up to a week before it goes up on eBay. Keep an eye on this thread folks - lots more to come! Next up.... Ford F-150 Blackfoot rocking billet alu wheels!
  8. Just found a grey chassis without any stresses or breaks? What else... hmmm.... NIP JG Rear Uprights for ORV (Blackfoot) - guess you would need the cross brace too though. Spare set of MB wheels in fantastic condition, hardly a scratch and nice and gold and shiny. Good tires too. J parts tree for ORV (front uprights, where they always break) An original, unused G1 for that loving restoration project A few shiny metal G1's in Red, Gold and I think I have one or two black too. Set of white wheels for the Stadium Blitzer, unused (in packets but one packet split) Set of silver wheels for the Chrome Blitzer or Dyna Blaster or whatever it was called (?) A couple of Raven 23 x 2 turn motors (new, by the looks of it) A Novak SS5800 Brushless system, looks like it would only fit in a drift car or whatever, short cables! Could solder some longer ones on I guess. Untested but think it works. Erm....
  9. I might well have, it's a big box There will be some goodies in here I'm sure! Got a chassis. It's has a repair on the rear left upright mounting point, but still holds up.
  10. That's better. I feel like my old self again Taking pics of everything now...
  11. Here are the guys behind it http://www.coloribus.com/adsarchive/direct...-card-13747455/ (you can pick up a high res version of the pic on that page) They are actually being given out by Japanese Tamiya reps, so perhaps some of the Far Eastern contacts can pick some up? "Seems the Tamiya business cards became so popular in fact, that new and old customers in the modeling community started requesting the cards as novelty items."
  12. It's a business card for Tamiya. If you look at the first image you can see that it has the telephone number to shop direct with Tamiya. But being Tamiya it's also a kit and by the looks of it, you can make three models (a, b and c in the pics). The first looks like a dragster, the second looks like a fighter jet and the third is a boat I think, warship. Better than my business cards anyway. Mine are made out of card and have my name and number on them
  13. NB - This was fixed I copied the code from one page to another and while I had updated the price I forgot to update the title - opps! However we've reverted to good old fashioned contact forms now, well Don has anyway, I think it allows him to control the flow a little better and ensure he has stock. I'm still running a cart though... limited numbers left too! Oh and I'm working on a new item... all will be revealed shortly! (yes, it's for the ORV monster trucks)
  14. So I thought some of you might be interested in the latest addition to the .50 Caliber Customs website, some fantastic Front Control Arms for the Tamiya ORV Chassis! Machined from solid aluminum, they are a perfect fit (my custom beetle is sporting the first set!) and look great. Monster Beetle, Blackfoot, Frog, Brat - one size fits all! .50 Caliber Customs - Front Control Arms for Tamiya ORV Chassis
  15. My Brushless Blitzer (10.5T Xcelorin Sensored) is mental! It got it's first "proper" outing at the weekend and up against a Traxxas Summit it looked like a tonka toy. It went a bit faster than anyone expected though! On the tarmac with some decent grip she must go at least 35mph+. I have the punch wound up to high and the timing is also at high at the moment but I'll probably bring that down a bit. She took a few tumbles along the way but held up well. My main problem was keeping the tyres on the wheels for long enough!
  16. So the new .50 Caliber Customs website is live, again! http://www.50calibercustoms.net/ It's running on Wordpress now so I can update it much easier and it's got some additional functionality too, such as custom PayPal shopping carts for the .50 Caliber Customs parts! Oh, and mine too. You can also comment on the parts and use the site to contact the makers directly. It's looking good and some more parts are due to be added very shortly... I'm not allowed to say what they are but you can be sure I'll post here as soon as they are up! I still need to create the links page that we had before but I'll do that this week.
  17. I have lots of eBay conspiracy theories! Do you think some competitive sellers are the non-paying bidders? Imagine I'm selling a Monster Beetle (God forbid...) and it's the only good condition shelfer up for auction in a 7 day period apart from say, one other. I bid up the other auction to what seems like an over the average price. If I send the other auction sky high it can only reflect better on mine and it will also put others off the competitors auction, therefore pushing them towards my auction instead. If I win it then I just don't pay! I think it goes on anyway. I've also noticed a trend with somone putting in a really silly bid just to see where someone else's maximum is and then retracting that bid automatically almost immediately afterwards citing a typo as an excuse. This allows them to see the current high bidder's maximum bid and then get ready to snipe it at the last moment. I think some sellers also use this tactic to push up the price in certain cases - if the current price is for example £20 and I'm winning, but my max is £50, once someone else has come in above me and then retracted their bid the auction will be left on my highest bid at £50, not back to the original £20 before Mr Retraction popped by. As the original winning bidder I might be tempted to up my maximum price after seeing a retraction too, just in case someone is sniping... As for shill bidding - eBay are fairly wise to it but only to a point. They track it automatically where they can I think. My account is associated with perhaps 2 main IP addresses - my home and work. If items I am selling receive bids from a different account, but on the same IP, then it'll be flagged up. But IP spoofing and dynamic IP addresses can circumvent this instantly. Besides, would you police something that earned you more money? I'm not sure it's in eBay's interests to investigate artificial price bumping too strongly. In short I think there are many, many ways for people to get screwed using the current system and I know pretty much every other honest seller feels the same! Unfortunately there simply is no other well known worldwide competition and that allows eBay to think about their profits before their customers. eBay have played it very shrewed, equal balance of power between seller and buyer initially and then slowly slipping towards protecting the buyer, until they are practically shill bidding auctions themselves To top it all off, while fees remain stupidly high for the seller, more and more will resort to such underhanded tactics to increase the final value of their auctions...
  18. So the site now has a links page - http://www.50calibercustoms.net/links.html and I've been busy on a few other bits and pieces too * Search has been relocated to the left hand column, underneath the suppliers list, to make it consistent over all of the pages * Kevin, Mike and Dan each have a dedicated contact page now, as opposed to a mailto: link before (stops spam bots) * I updated some of the text on various pages and added a picture to the About Us page * I've added Google Statistics to every web-page, it'll take 24 hours to kick in but it's the best tracking solution available * I played around with the formatting of various pages and generally made it more aesthetically pleasing More coming shortly...! Loaded is away for a few days I think, so his page has been delayed a little.
  19. Why not try a gearbox that has already been made to fit the space frame chassis? I think the Bush Devil uses the same A Parts chassis, but it has a totally different gearbox and rear suspension setup. Just a thought...
  20. Kev - just drop me a PM for my email or use this form - http://www.50calibercustoms.net/contactpete.html - to drop me a line via the website I'll get your page updated as soon as you send through the content. You'll need my email if you have other pics you'd prefer to use or if you have some additional ones. I've been flat out this weekend, lots of friends round and lots to do! Hence not getting any links page up yet. I'll work on it over the next week though, I have some updates to do for ARB and we need to get Loaded's parts up (still waiting for content on that too....). If those who want links have a logo or some text they would like to use, again just let me know. Oh, my .50 Caliber Talon's arrived at the weekend (cheers Don!) and they are perfect!! I have to use Frog stoppers for the moment but I know Don has tweaked the design a little for the production parts and they use the original plastic P stoppers for those who want to.
  21. As it happens I was checking out radshape myself last night - liking the Hotshot bumpers so much I almost bought a Hotshot so I could get one haha! I think they are some great ideas WW and I'll have a chat with Don. Some people might already have their own websites etc but free promotion is no bad thing, unless of course they don't like competition from any others we might be showcasing. However I think a links page is a very good idea, so even if we don't actively promote someone's parts or offerings, we can at least recognise and acknowledge their work. All good suggestions - keep them coming!
  22. Good to have you on board, Paul. I'll get your page up over the next couple of days! I should also add that I'm waiting for Google to index the site at the moment, as soon as they have the search function will work (I hope!). Built Tamiya Tough.... With .50 Caliber Stuff!
  23. Cheers I usually sell websites rather than build them but it's a pet hobby, along with all things Tamiya I love all things "computer" too. I'd really like to see Paul/Loaded promoting some of his chromed bits and pieces and there was a guy on flea-bay who created some nice alloy mounts for the Lunchie, I'll give him a shout this evening to see if he wants to be featured. But any and all builders and makers of parts are welcome, the more the merrier! Pete
  24. I've been busy working on a website project recently and it's pretty much there now so I'd like to share with you all the new URL for .50 Caliber Customs! - http://www.50calibercustoms.net (you may have the old .com domain in your bookmarks, that now automatically redirects to the new .net domain) I'm not the guy behind the site, that would be Don, but I did build the website for him as a favour. It helps him, it helps me and hopefully it will help you guys too! Don has created some fantastic parts for the Tamiya ORV and SRB range (check out the cnc'd aluminum rear trailing arms for the ORV!!!) and he has lots of other bits in the pipeline. However the website exists as a place for others to showcase their parts too, so you will notice that I have a page for my G1 parts and Mikea96 is also featured with his aluminum parts. If you have parts that you've created that you would like to promote on the site please get in touch! I know Don would love for it to be a well used resource and if it saves everyone from having to deal with rip-off eBay fees all the better. There are no concerns over competition, so if you produce a part the same as someone else they will both be featured - competition is healthy! The top concern is quality - Don is a stickler for detail and he goes above and beyond any normal testing process to ensure that all of his products are top-notch in every regard. There are still a few tweaks I need to do to the website but it's pretty much there, we hope you all enjoy .50 Caliber Customs as much as we do! We welcome any and all comments, suggestions and feedback! Cheers Pete
