  1. Like it man, Won a f 350 shell for mine off the bay, gonna give it brake fluid bath then repaint, want it to look as real as poss! dont gnow what color yet but my Mustang is gonna be yellow!! Aaaah Yeah!
  2. Looks better in my opinion! Think you should trim the front body mounts though!!! I have a new shell on the way will post pics when i paint it! got my beadlocks today , , , ,Yahoo! only done 1 wheel upto now, takes forever!
  3. Guess what the postman bought me today, Yeah thats wright, Nothing . . . . Zilcho . . . . Nil , zip , Nyada . . . Diddley squat !!!! Have purchased 4 items off the bay totaling 70'something quid, over a week ago, and what do i get!. . . . . . . So if i have purchased an item off you from ebay if u post it, that kinda helps!!! Suppose tale of the story is 'When u get. . . be happy'
  4. Li-po batteries are mainly used with brushless systems at the mo, not too sure how they perform with brushed, Motors and esc's need to be matched to a certain degree, esc has to be classed at less turns than the motor (you probably already know this) many motors can be found on ebay including tamiyas own motors and other variants of 540 cans (motors), stock (in the box motor) will be a 27 turn J Motor, Lesss turns = more speed, have seen motors as little as 7 turn, real fast but drain battery real quick! As your only just getting into it again id recoment a tamiya RZ motor with a 21 turn esc, Make sure u ball race the car as plastic bearings will melt!!!! Happy driving! Im sure ur son will love it!
  5. Sweet truck Hombr'e! When u take it out i hope u wear a big hat, platform boots with fish in the soles and walk with a cane! Real Bling,
  6. With shaft driven u loose a little power and torque in the gear boxes, belt drive eliminates some of this so are more efficient at delivering speed/power, belts can be found on ebay, bout a 5'er ! if your going competitive belt drive is best, but not sure if the difference is that noticeable! Hope this helps!
  7. Hi there, Was just wondering what the difference was beetween 190 and 200 mm body shells, are they measuring the width?????? Reason i ask, i have a TL-01 and want to know what will be best fit! Many thanks for any advise u can give!
  8. Just got these off the bay for the Det, front and rears 12 pounds posted from Australia!!!!
  9. I say Name and shame, Even if its to make sure i dont sell him any of my cars , Its your duty, if not for me do it for R/C owners I know, I know, I should get an oscar for that speech!!!
  10. Im not putting lights in my twin, but got a mustang shell coming for my TL-01 , its just screaming out for lights! When this is done its gonna look the shnizzle!!!!
  11. Hi there, Take the top off the truck and post a pic in the monster truck forum, me and the boys will be happy to let u know what your truck has had done to it, as previously stated (Piggy back shocks) they might be off another truck 'e-maxx' or the likes, looks in good health though! i have one of these! theyre great fun and almost unbreakable!!! ALMOST!!!
  12. Now this truck is definately getting there, If i send u a self adressed envelope can u send me some snow, we have none in manchester at the mo' . . . . Ha Ha Looks like fun was had! Still waiting on my beadlocks (black bolts is the future!!!!!)
  13. Hi Ryan, This is something i have looked into, My servi is ok at the mo' but ive thought about upgrading, ebay is probably the place to start, dont buy a cheap one!!! bepending on your budget there are a few to choose from, just make sure it is a high torque servo with fast reaction times, and also make sure it is the correct size as there are some larger servos on the market! Hope this helps! If youve hopped up your det, it would be nice to see some pics!
  14. Kinda looks a lil cheesey, dont do it man, truck looks way cool as is, sometimes subbtle works best, When i get my beads im gonna paint the screw heads black along with the embossed wrighting!! Other thoughts . . . . . Paint the locking disks!!!!!!
  15. I give u another month, and youl be so into r/c cars you will have upgraded 50% of your truck!!! Understanding timing and mechanics of motors is easy once u get the gist! the further in the rotational direction the end bell is turned the more speed u get, less turn = more power, stronger magnets = more speed and/or power! Bushes and com: better connection = more electricity which = stronger magnet which = (u should have the gist) if not, do a little research, it will pay off in the long run! Post us some pics PAVSTER! Its a bug! you just cant help yourself! Have just started my second car! got it for freemans of my brother, its a little battered and no shell but soon, and it will come alive! Its a tl01 but that thread is for another forum! (postings in general)
  16. Thanks for the reply, Because of this i think im gonna roll with it and restore to a cool car (hopefully) will post a few pics once ive made some progress, Thanks again!
  17. Thanks all, Ended up getting super e truck esc and 2 x tamiya tz's! She now flies!!!!!!! Whoo Hooo!!!!!!
  18. Thanks Blue, think im gonna paint em blue
  19. Nice one fellas , thanks Is it worth spending money on this chassis to make it good, or is it better to purchase a descent chassis to start from?
  20. Hi All, Im quite new to the touring car r/c world but wanted to put a car together, got this for nuffin but not sure what it is (me thinks tt 01 tl 01) could anyone help me clear things up! Also is this chassis any good, dont ming doing some mods but not sure if a different chassis would be better, i have a modded twin det so im not a complete noob when it comes to r/c! want to build a fast touring car (not necessarily for competition but for racing and fun! Any help will be great, Thanks, Johnny.
  21. Love the wheels man! Mine should be here in about a week or so! not got new tyres yet though as im beeing a little picky ( or just tight ) and not found the right ones! What u doin on it next?
  22. If u havent already, put the shock clips in, making suspension firmer therefore less roll, so less likely to tipple! Else go oil shocks and lower the truck(see my thread in monster truck section) just dont lower too far as tyres rub the body!
  23. Like adam says, they are plentiful on ebay, for generic parts(knuckles, c hubs), buy the tl01parts( as they are a few quid cheaper) and same component! Motors: Like anything else in this world u get what u pay for, tamiya motors may not be the fastest in the world but bet u cant show me an equivelant motor (rpm/torque) with as good a run time, they just seem to be a solid efficient motor, The ansmanns will be fine but u cant tune/replace components as easy! ;( but they are great for bashing! also to replace one is cheaper than brushes and a skim
  24. Well, decision made on connectors, gonna stick with tamiya: 1 cos im lazy, 2 cos ill have to change on chargers, 3 any other batts / chargers i get will probably be tamiya plugs! Thanks for advice anyhow, Got some beadlocks coming in the post, anyone know any cheep 2.2 tyres that will fit! think the spikes on the oe tyres r a tad cheesey Also does anyone have for sale a body shell, twin det, blackfoot truck type! More pics to come in about two week or so!
