  1. You know you're obsessed when you analyze the ground everywhere you go to see if it's smooth enough to drive your 1/14th scale Scania without bashing the low bumper at the front of the cab on anything
  2. I have 2 reversing lights on my Scania R620 unit, so if you have one on your unit, then adding a reversing light to your trailer would not make much difference to the MFU. if I decide to do this mod I will remove one of the reversing lights from the unit and stick it in the tamiya trailer I am building at the moment there is a video of a Bruder trailer is here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4QLgxsMEAI and it shows the reversing lights on the unit, but no reversing light on the trailer,
  3. you could cut the wires to the units reversing lights and splice in a plug socket to go onto the back of the cab like the trailer light set and add the reversing lights to the trailer and plug them into the new socket on the back of the cab, just an idea I am considering
  4. I have moved the king pin back the length of the original rubbing plate, because with the trailer hooked up to the unit it did not look as though the unit was far enough under the trailer
  5. I am going to cut the balsa sheet into planks and then glue them to the grey deck supports after removing the plastic deck
  6. Hi mate the plastic decking is only temporary I have some Balsa wood sheet on order and am going to cut that into planks and glue that onto the grey support strips that is holding the plastic deck on
  7. I bought a tamiya 3 axle reefer and have built it as a flat bed leaving off the reefer body and stuff I used part off the front inner headboard and ally side piece to make a shorter headboard as in a 1:1 trailer the kit is built up in the normal way until you get above the deck part I am going to cover the deck with strips of Balsa wood to simulate planking the reason the unit is green is because it was bought and built as tank transporter with a bruder lowloader that has been stretched, the flat bed trailer will also end up green when it has been decked and the headboard finnished off
  8. thanks guys a you tube video of a test run using the bruder trailer that I added the tamiya trailer light set to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4QLgxsMEAI the truck is running on a 2.4 gig tx and reciever
  9. some more pictures, the truck is painted NATO green and black because it will be used to demonstrate loading and unloading the Leopard 2A6 at the public displays at the tank club that I belong to, the electronics in the tactor unit are only a tempory solution until the MF unit arrives, I have replaced the stock motor with a Novak 55 to slow the truck down after all it is a truck and not a F1 GP car
  10. I am building a scania R620 6X4 truck, an here are some pictures of the work so far in no particular order
  11. try building the Leopard 2A6 the gear box is a bit of a pain but is well worth the effort
  12. a very easy mod to do if your an electromagician which I am not, I got a mate who is, to do the mod for me for a couple of pints (after he had finnished the work)
  13. when you have finnished the build and take it to the shop and ask who is laughing now
  14. dfh
  15. the Leopard 2A6 is a great tank to build and drive
  16. all I have done is changed the tracks idler mounts and ball raced the road wheels the paint job is down to the guy I bought it from. I will have to put some American stars and unit No.s on it and also think of a name to call it and so on
  17. I have finished putting the tank back together after changing the tracks and sprockets also change the idler mounts and ball raced the road wheels
  18. thanks for that I got the Sherman this afternoon via parcel force and I am going to set it up the same way as I set up my Jagdpanther so that the drive and steering is on the right stick and the turret and gun is on the left stick I said in an earlier post that it was a kit but it is not it has been built and is second hand. with this in mind I am going to replace the tracks and sprockets with T66 type from impact and replace the bushes in the road wheels with ball races and replace the idler mount as well, again with the impact item, I am also looking at freeing up the return rollers as the are jammed tight and do not run as the should. I may also replace these with impact return rollers as well if the dismantling process damages them the attached picture is from the seller of the Sherman
  19. thanks Panther F' it is the full option kit I have a Tamiya Jagdpanther and found the four channel RC gear very easy to fit
  20. I am getting a Sherman soon and I wanted to know how easy is it to fit the four channel receiver to the tank.
