F350 Bodied Clod Buster
mongoose1983 replied to mongoose1983's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
It was extended 30mm. I believe my Japanese buddy (Kohki) used metal bars at the bottom of the chassis to bolt the links further, that might be the reason the shocks look angled as well. Anyway, I think you can drop him a line anytime, and he will be able to explain it better. I just decided to share the video because I really believe it is a beautiful Clod Buster Monster truck. -
My Japanese buddy Kohki just uploaded a video to show how to modify a CC-01 chassis. Previous to this F-350 model, he had a very nice Pajero crawler. Y'all have a nice day! EB --

My Original Frog, Brought Back To Life
mongoose1983 replied to Ribbit's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
I PMd you a couple of useful links for the restoration process of the 1984 Frog. Anyway, I found this alternate painting scheme for the Frog suggested in Tamiya's 1985 Radiocontrol guide book: -
Hey. I'm looking for a cheap old and used transmitter to match a Japanese Futaba receiver. Preferably a Futaba FP-T4L (or FP-T5L). Might consider one that has broken parts on the outside with the condition it powers on. I'm after one because somebody sold a broken one to me You all have a good Monday! EB --

My Original Frog, Brought Back To Life
mongoose1983 replied to Ribbit's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
The decal sheets that have been re-worked for the re-release of many classic Tamiya cars are very much a turn-off. As a matter of fact, Tamiya will re-release very soon their classic 1979 Rough Rider Funco buggy and they are including a sheet with sponsors that were NOT the ones that were trendy back in the 70's in desert races like Baja 1000 or the Mint 400. Makes me wonder who is behind such HORRIBLE thing. Still, if what you want is the original decals I think you should try either eBay, or the nice TamiyaClub repros. -
My Original Frog, Brought Back To Life

Hey, JB. Nice to e-meet you! Well, I checked my extras and the mount I had was not the Frog one. But I have the original 1984 driver's helmet that you can attach to the lexan body (as you can see in the picture I used it when I made a driver for my 1982 Super Champ, but now I have the original driver -I just have not had the time to paint and install it). Anyway, the torso of the driver I have is the one in the same Frog Z sprue but was used in another model, the Tamiya Grasshopper. I also have an extra A7 piece to attach the switch to the lexan body that I can also send. I just sent a message to my buddy in Michigan who deals with Frog used and new parts. If he can help me with the posts, I will have them sent to you ASAP. By the way, I dunno if VR told you what I said, but that one is a sweet motor indeed! Best regards, EB -- -

Hey you! If you're the person I think you are (JB??), and you are still in need of a driver for your Frog, I can send you one, and I am not sure, but seemingly I have the other bits you are after. I have to check the tool box with extra Tamiya parts to confirm I have them. You have a great Sunday! EB -- PS. Have a look at the differences of the original and rerelease decal sheets for the Frog: -
COOL!

BTW, I have two Monster Beetles, and I can tell the metal that goes over the S-saver really does not do much. The help it provides is mostly aesthetic. I guess some fellow MB owner will confirm this if you ask around. Have a nice one! EB --

This happened because the ORV chassis set up was originally meant to go with small-lighter wheels. The Pumpkin/LunchBox wheel and tire combination is not only much heavier, but also far too soft. If you was going to make this modification you should have taken the short way and use the proper MudBlaster front shock tower because the larger --and properly balanced- uprights were designed to hold a much bigger/heavier wheels. The servo saver must be larger, and so the steering linkage. I like your Monster Brat. Hope you can find the way to get it working soon. Bets regards, EB --

I think Kokhi has some pictures in one of his videos showing how the modification should be done. Or you can always drop him a message -I know he will reply any questions. Best regards, EB --

Nice BLACK FOOT! With period Futaba gear. The only way it should be done! Have a good Tuesday! EB --

Q On Bruiser Front Bumper Supports
mongoose1983 replied to mongoose1983's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Well, as you can see in the pic, these are made of aluminum. I wonder if anybody out there knows where can I find them? Y'all have a great Monday! -
Well, I rarely like modifications on classic models, but so far I am not against this one. The result is a cheap and very nice vintage VW beach buggy.
-
Hey you! I have these ones in VGC up for trade. Best regards, EB --
-
Hey, I have all the front parts of a Mud Blaster so yuo can modify your truck for a bigger tire/wheel combination. I would take some used brat parts in a trade. Best regards, EB --

How To Maintain Old Rc Truck Tires
mongoose1983 replied to todd21's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
Hey you, The last months I have seen on eBay.com someone in Asia selling cheap softer Bruiser repro tires. They have the same tread, though. I have not used them, and don't know anybody who did, so I am not sure they are any better regarding the grip. Anybody in the know? Y'all have a good Sunday! EB -- -
Hey, Mike. You still have these bits? Best regards, EB --
