  1. Wonderful picture. Just to show how accurate early Tamiya models were.

  4. Cool! I just saw and rated it! Have a great Thursday! EB --
  5. Hey Alistair! I felt the same way about Monster Trucks back in the day! I will be checking your YouTube channel. As a matter of fact, I'm there now... watching some of your cool videos! Have a nice day! EB --
  6. Hey Lars, Thanks for the great links. I'm also a member of Monster Mayhem, but I must admit I never saw those great pictures before. Anyway, while I agree Tamiya might have not been inspired by only one Monster truck from the mid 80's, I have to disagree with you when it comes to which truck looks more like a Clod. The Clod Buster does not have side mirrors (but if you look at the picture #4, both, Samson 1 and Bear foot had the same side mirrors!), and the cowboy image on the doors does not look at all like Samson's. Bear Foot also had a blower (that I believe you're calling three-inlet hood scoop?) and the tailgate was just like the Clod (Now, it's really interesting for me to find a different version of Samson --plain tailgate-- that you show in the links). But what I believe is more decisive is the year-model of the truck. If you look closely at the fourth picture I attached (front side by side comparison of all three monster trucks. L to R: Bear Foot, Clod Buster, Samson 1), you'll see the Chevrolet truck that Tamiya made a scale of is a Silverado from 1986 (original ad picture #2), which is Bear Foot. The fourth picture shows that Samson 1 was a Chevrolet truck from another year, judging by the equal double lamps on each side of the grill. Now, of course, Bear Foot was not red. But still, apart of the color, picture #4 tells me that Bear Foot 1987 looked more like the Clod Buster. Thanks, Lars. By the way, I think your Tamiya site is awesome! Have a great Tuesday!! EB --
  7. Hay y'all, Okay, I have been discussing the Clod Buster inspirational 1:1 Monster truck with fellow Tamiya fans. I decided to upload some pics to show that the 1987 4x4x4 Clod Buster model is actually a Bear Foot 1:10. Now don't be fooled by the red color! Just look closely at the body. The Bear Foot that had the same body as the Clod Buster used that 1986 C-30 silverado body until it rolled over in Anaheim, CA 1987. That might be one of the reasons some people don't remember the Bear Foot I'm talking about. I'll include pictures this time, though. As for Samson 1, it is a different Chevrolet truck. VERY similar, and also of red color. The rear bed door of the Samson 1 says a lot: it's the chrome Chevrolet type, which is definitely NOT the one in the 1987 Clod Buster, nor in the Bear Foot (see pictures). The Samson 1 had different front lights, too. Well, all is there in the pictures. If anybody have more pictures of the Bear Foot, or Samson 1 Monster trucks it will be nice to see them. My two cents. Y'all have a great week! EB --
  8. Just got new shelves. I have these four, and another five that are not in the picture (two Black Foot trucks, one Midnight Pumpkin, another Monster Beetle, and one Mad Cap buggy). Y'all have a great day! EB --
  9. Hey Y'all, Last Christmas I got me as a present a box full of Clod Buster junk. So I made one, and restore it. I love how this thing runs, but I am experiencing an issue when it comes to steering. The rear wheels don't return to straight as fast as the front ones. Now the rear axle has a standard servo saver, while the one I have in front is made of aluminum. Any idea on what would be the problem? The first test run of my 4x4x4 Clod Buster: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gr6_7dUBPLI Y'all have a great day! EB --
  10. Forgot to say: I'm after Black Foot, Clod Buster, Brat, and Super Champ junk. Take care, EB --
  11. Hey there. I have extra towers and many other used parts in good condition. Do you have a list of what you have and need? Later, EB --
  12. I wonder if anybody of you have any other pictures of the 1:1 Toyota pick-up. It would be nice to see more examples of the real thing.
  13. VERY nice truck. But it lacks something: the rear cab. Matter of tastes, I guess. Y'All have a nice day! EB --
  14. This is my Toyota high-Lift. Maybe it can give you an idea?
  15. Bruiser decals don't look good on the Hilux because it lacks the rear cab. You might better like to try the Mountaineer ones? Anyway, please post some pictures of your truck when you can! All the best! EB --
  16. Hey Kevin, how're you doing! Well, if you can find some info on these that would be very appreciated. You have a nice Tuesday!
  17. Surely, that sweet lil thing will end up over $500 !!! :-)
  18. I have scans for the Sand Scorcher, and so I'm sure this is not. It must be from the early 80s, no later, but not as old as the 1979 Sand Scorcher VW buggy. Thanks anyway, trucknut!
  19. Thanks, trucknut! Well, here's a small image of what is coming. Any idea of what it is?
  20. Hey Y'All, A friend of mine is selling to me a bag with old Tamiya parts. There's this piece of a decal sheet that has one that says "EAT DIRT!" along others, like STP, and Valvoline. Anybody knows from what tamiya model is this? Thanks in advance!
  21. Howdy blaketron, Well, the size of wheels depends on what do you have in mind when building your 1979 SR-5 Toyota Pick-up model. I used 2.2 Kyosho wheels with Bruiser tires and they are not "too big". As a matter of fact, they are the perfect scale representation of a Firestone All Traction Utility 48 incher. Of course, what I had in mind when building my truck was a mid-80's Californian Mudbog racer -that's the reason why 48 inchers do look scale in my truck. You have a nice day! EB --
  22. Hiya MonsterYeti, Here's how I "corrected" my Hilux High-Lift. Wheels are 2.2 Kyosho with Bruiser tires. See this posting: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=81160&id=13236 Best regards, EB --
  23. Hey Suzy, how are you. I have the old red ones. I am not really interested in buying new ones. Basically, I want to bring life back to the oil filled dampers just because I remember they used to be a must back in the day. :-) Oh, and by the way, I don't think the Clod Junkyard have the replacement for these metal parts, but even if they had, they overcharge shipping too much for sending things here. Even if it's a tiny metal part, which is pretty sad. Have a great week! EB --
  24. Hey everyone, I am now restoring a 1987 Tamiya Clod Buster 4x4x4 monster truck and I recently got for peanuts a battered Bullhead chassis. Axles and gears are alright, but when I dismantled the 8 non-working yellow shocks I found that there was something more than just rust there. Seven of the metal parts had the tip broken, therefore I can not use these anymore. All of the other parts, o'rings and plastics, are in very good condition. Now all I want to know if there is any chance to find these metal parts used or new somewhere? Thanks in advance and y'all have a great Sunday! EB --
  25. Sadly, the Clod Junkyard does not ship here. :-( But I still need these parts, also the plastic chrome FRONT BUMPER. Used would be okay, as long as they are not broken. Thanks in advance!
