No problem. I still say thank you, SegaFalcon.

Yes, you should replace them bevel gears.
They're not expensive and, best of all, you're going to feel the beetle runs just like the first time.
Enjoy your beetle. It really is a nice Tamiya.

Go with Shodog... vinegar or lemon juice will remove hardwater salts.
If needs be a quick wipe with a damp cloth and a little bicarb will get off bigger stains too.
Thanks Wills.
At first I thought in asking you about this via PM, but I bothered you with too many questions already.
Anyway I will put the decals on this truck this week.
Have a great Sunday!

No problem then, Ill paint up a bit of ABS and leave it out in the rain. Ill have a go with a few things once its water marked and see what happens.
That would be great, man. I'll wait for your comment before trying anything.
Have a great weekend,

Is it enamel or acryllic?
Hiya Segafalcon,
It's Testors and it says "Enamel".

I have bent thing back by putting them on a flat surface and using a hammer to straighten
Thank you Shodog.
Actually, that was what I had in mind at first, but this is a rather hard piece of steel. I mean, not just like a regular nail... Bearing in mind it's a precision part in the tranny, if the thing is not completely straighten up it will certainly affect the runnning. Am I wrong?

What kind of paint is it?
It's Testors paint. So far the only paint that you can find here in my country -if anybody can believe such thing. We have postal restrictions over spray cans and so I have never had the chance to use original Tamiya paints! Add to that these people at the local hobby store they don't have all the colors available, so you have to paint your body shells using the colors available here, no options. I.E. I always liked metallic paints, but here we don't have any of that. And no chance to get them from abroad too. It's that bad.
Best regards,

I'm fixing a transmission of a Black Foot truck that was hit by a 1:1 car. Everything is ready now except for one small detail. The tiny inside shaft of the transmission is bent. Any clue as to how can I straight it up? It doesn't seem easy at all. The part number is BM1. Anybody knows if there is any problem when running the truck without this part?
Thanks in advance,

I used one of my trucks the other day and it was raining. When I came back home I just left the truck sitting there and it got dry itself. I noticed a couple of days ago some water stains all over the body. At first I thought they would go after some soft-cloth wiping but was shocked to find out they just won't go. Any clue as to what to do to get them off? I mean, something rather than stripping the body and paint it again...
Thanks and y'all have a great Saturday!

Many guys I know have had the same problems with Bboykorea382. This seller has lots of good items at good prices, but I never trusted him and so I never ordered a thing from him.
I'm living in Santiago de Chile, far down in South America, and I got a High-Lift from a Hong Kong dealer last April. I wasn't accustomed to order things as expensive as this truck from overseas, but decided to give it a try. At first, my TC buddy, Crash Cramer, told me Stellamodels was the best seller. Well, I tried to get it from Stella but after three e-mails they decided not to sell me. So I sent a question about shipping costs to RC Empire and that was it. For $424, ten days after that first e-mail I received the box, marked as a gift and valued at $50. No delays, no custom ****, just the brand new fresh-factory High-Lift kit ready for me to lay my hands all over it.
Been a good eBayer since 1998 and to this day I still have 100% positive feedback. I know most of you have hade good experiences with Stellamodels, but if I ever buy another new kit, I'll go directly to RC Empire.
Y'all have a great weekend!

Do you made more of these for sale too?

Mines well out of the way!
But it does fit lengthways between the chassis rails
By the way, why don't you put up some pictures of the custom interiors you do, Dready?

Decided to make a little modification on my High-Lift tonight. From the -many- things I never liked about this model, one of the most annoying ones was that battery compartment right down in the middle of the truck -you could see it a mile away! Well, I thought I should do something to solve it, after all, there's plenty of space to find a solution below the pick-up bed. So I give it a thought, drilled a couple of holes on the batt comp and then just bolted it on the chassis. You can now slide the battery from the left side and can even use the original lock part, but since that is chromed its a looker just on top of the rear left tire so I decided to use a piece of black plastic instead and bolt it on one of the battcomp orig holes. I can say I'm happy with the results.
How many of you tried similar solutions?
Y'all have a great day!

Hiya Ryan,
What a cool job. And I agree completely with you, them lexan bodies just don't do as nice as an ABS. Anyway, would you please post a couple of more pictures of it. One of the interior and a side view would be helpful to see how that body fits the CR-01.
Cheers!

Take the springs out of the dampers too, they dont do anything useful unless you're carrying the weight of the MFU or want really stiff suspension!
Talkin' about dampers, I always wondered why on earth most of the Tamiya models have them in a reverse position. The Bruiser comes to mind as one of the very few that had them dampers placed in the right position. Also, I truly believe Tamiya designers should have been more meticulous regarding the size of the dampers, cause you don't get to see many Yotas out there with dampers like the red ones included in the kit.
Cheers,

Actually, I'm VERY happy with them spares. For the price of the kit that's the least thing Tamiya could have done. The older kits had little or no spares at all, like two washers extra and such.
BTW, what do y'all think of the "hog heaven" decal? I thought it was pretty sarcastic.
Cheers,

Nice for a monster truck, but not for a scaler

Well, it all depends on what kind of pick-up truck do you want to represent in scale.
Mine is actually a scale of an early 80's california Mudbog racer, not a monster truck.
You see these scale tires represent 48 inchers.

Title says it all.
I'm after five decals to cover the naked rollbar lights of my Hi-Lux High-Lift.
I know the Clod and Super Clod had them. Also the Mountaineer model had them.
Anything will do as long as it's a complete set of five decals.
Thanks!
Wielen Dank!

RC4wd stompers or crushers look perfect in my opinion - better than big 2.2's
Nice yellow truck, but I don't agree!
This truck was made for 2.2 wheels with Tamiya 1985 All-traction utility Tires.
Y'all take care,

Hey guys whats with the leaf suspension on the Totota Hilux some of the leafs seem to splay apart once fitted and some stay together ...any ideas why this has happened if I leave it the way it is will it be noticeable once finished or should I take action and put the small cable ties on ( that are supplied ) Thank guys

Stuart
Hi Stuart,
Never mind with them cable ties. I just re-placed the leafs but just like the real cars use them: the longer one (main spring) just has to be on top. That way I solved the problems you mention (same ones I had). I must admit I had to read twice the manual on the leaf spring section because I have never seen a real car having shorter leafs on top of the main one. What ever was thinking the Tamiya designer????
Have a nice day!

Congrats on the excellent paint job done on this one!
You know if there was no Bruiser version of the Toyota Hi-Lux I would have thought it was a nice truck. Right up when I got the High-Lift box out of the package, first thought come to mind was that this surfer-themed truck was rather depressing, like "look what they done to their highest achievement in the history of RC modeling!"
But still I have to admit that doing the art box paint scheme is very difficult. And you've done a great job there.

DO NOT USE WD40
THANKS FOR THE INFO!

Glycerine or pure silicone oil.
Hiya Terry,
Nothing here yet by the way, but I just wanted to know about spraying WD-40 over the tires. Will it prevent tires go dry rot or not?
