  1. I put the frog universals in my vintage WO. I would consider those. It's already coming with better dampers, finish out the bearings to complete a full set and I would say that unless you want to do alloy rims and bumper, that's enough.
  2. I know what you mean, although I'm no purist I just want to enjoy the car whether it's 20 years old or brand new. In cooltoy's case, he has a hybrid fav/wild one so it shouldn't really matter if he slaps some new parts on there right?
  3. Once people start breaking up kits to sell off parts, and rere parts become available, you're looking at at least $100-$150 to get it to where you probably want it. Still slightly cheaper than a rere kit, but you won't have the fun of cracking open a new box and building a kit.
  4. Weird, it says it includes 8. how many more are required to be a full set? 2 for each wheel was what I put on my vintage WO.
  5. Hey thanks for that, I did manage to get my Spektrum Z590 in there, but the thing is, It seems the steering arm won't have a practical way to travel. Could you possibly post up a picture of your setup? I also have to find a decent servo saver/horn to work for this application.
  6. Stella's sold out of the 1st batch already... I think my price here in the states at the shop I usually go to will still be about $180. This still translates to cheaper than I'd pay from Stella by a hair and that's with taxes. Although, I just checked my email and saw that Stella has written to tell me that he set aside one for me. What great customer service!
  7. I see one on ebay. You could get someone to buy it here and send it your way. You'd probably end up paying almost $100 in shipping in the end, but if you really want it, I'm sure myself or someone on here would be willing to help you out.
  8. I guess the "Other Makes" Forum is gone. I'm wondering what servo would best fit into an Associated B4. My spektrum Z590 seems to be a bit big and frankly I can't figure out how to make it work without drilling another set of holes in the chassis. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks guys.
  9. I like the $180 mark. A little less than the hotshot (as it should be) but a little more than the FAV because it will be coming with the upgraded shocks, bearings all around, a motor and possibly an esc as well.
  10. I have 2 of these for sale. Unused. One in original packaging and one out of the bag. I think they're priced fairly? http://www.ebay.com/itm/280907374627?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 If anyone international is interested, I'm sure it wouldn't be too much more for shipping. They're pretty small and light
  11. I saw this guy running a brushless beetle with some big tires at the dog beach once. The dogs couldn't catch up to it and it was a riot seeing them chasing it around. If I can dig up the pics I'll post one. I found a spot down near 4th and Park near the Lagoon they're working on. That trail that I think used to be train tracks. It would be ideal after it rains because it sure is dusty when it's dry. My last run still has my car dirty from it.
  12. You gotta be curious about how it handles in the powder though. So where do you typically run your cars?
  13. Very Cool. But I don't see you getting much run time out of this where you're located. I live in LB too. Thought I was the only TC'er who lived in LB
  14. The FAV shocks are $40-$45, but I think it's coming with a motor, esc and full bearings as well. I wouldn't be opposed to paying $180-$200, as I paid $190 for my Hotshot rere kit a few years back and think this kit is just as much of a gem and even dearer to my heart because it was my first Tamiya
  15. That price is ridiculous really. A few bucks less than the Super Hotshot? More than $100 above what the FAV cost? I understand it is coming with some parts that the FAV doesn't, (better shocks, a motor maybe). I do hope this price comes down considerably.
  16. I think that red would look great in the WO. Is this a 380 motor in a 540 can with fins like the ezrun?
  17. I wrote to Stella and he said he would notify me as soon as he got a release date for pre-ordering. I don't have to have this as soon as it is released but I would like to have it in the next few months. I have never awaited a re-release as eagerly as this one. Already looking forward to finishing my vintage with re-re parts and shelving that one to run the re-re. Like I said, I may have to get 2. One to have as a NIB and one to run, I will definitely source a set of vintage shocks to run on the runner because honestly, they weren't bad and the new ones look too different.
  18. yeah not thrilled with the new name. I didn't think they would be incorporating it into the decals. What is Major Pro? I think I'll get a repro decal sheet. Not the best but at least it will look better than what they've brought out. The dampers do look different
  19. I figured as much. The video quality that thing puts out is awesome. So you use it handheld?
  20. hmm... Interesting ince it is on Tamiyausa.com as a coming soon item. I'm curious about the XV-01.
  21. I noticed that too. I'm thinking with all of those servos he couldn't fit a proper motor in there. I think I read that there were 23 servos.
  22. What do you tape with? I like the wild angle.
  23. I don't know if this is the right place to put this but I thought this was kind of neat and maybe others would too. My only comment about it is, I think it would be cool if he could get the car to go faster. Japanese Designer builds real Transformer
  24. I'm going as low as $245 now and a flat $20 shipping to anywhere in the US. I will ship overseas, but I'm sure it would cost more.
  25. I love the recent re-releases for some reason. Most of them are kits I would buy if I could afford them. I would not buy the Holiday Buggy, but I would definitely get an Avante mostly because it looks cool and looks like a fun build. I will be getting the Wild One, maybe even 2 to do in 2 different color schemes as this was my very first kit as a kid. Overall, I'd agree. You can't please everyone, and the improvements made were based on testing and feedback. Tamiya seems like the only company with real heritage and one that wants to make sure that that doesn't die out. I would say that the last good consumer model (not pro) that was good was the DB01.
