I’ve been making a little progress on this in my limited spare time. I didn’t have the piece for attaching a shift rod. I used a spare pinion with a long set screw and a ball connector on it.

I have not had the Pro II version, but I'm confident that those body sets will fit.

I'm ordering / collecting parts to build this in to a running truck. I don't have a Toyota body, but since this is a Tamiya hard body, I think this will be appropriate.

Thanks for the information. I wonder if I should leave the black paint or try to remove it. I don’t want to damage it.
It looks to me like like the steering is on the wrong side of the axle. I’ll have to swap that around. I also need to find a motor stay for the front of the motor. I have the driveshafts and 2 of the shocks. I’m missing pieces for the steering and shifting that I’ll need to find.

I was told that this is an original Mountaineer chassis with re-release wheels and tires. It obviously needs some work.
How can I verify that it is an original chassis?

Ran the first round of our Summer Series yesterday. Managed a third place finish with my TRF103.

Has anyone ever figured out why these came with Direct Connection decals? Did the 1:1 Toyota race trucks run Mopar engines?

It's got TLT axles, so maybe this counts as a Tamiya build ?? Custom chassis with several details to still finish up.

Sunday, we picked up more stuff and had a chance to see Euro Trucks, GT-2, and more Minis. Sadly, we had to go before F-1 started. We both have caught the bug pretty badly. She's building her TT-02 with racing in mind from the start and I'm planning my second car. I look forward to getting down to the HobbyPlex more frequently.
I'm glad to hear that. It is a lot of fun. Just as a heads up, nothing official, but they are trying to host another TCS race later this year. Possibly the 3rd weekend in August.
I was also running the m-chassis class.

So did you make to the HobbyPlex to catch any of the racing?
It was great weekend. I finished painting up this body Friday before the race.

Thank you, and yes, it is a great facility. Definitely one of the tops in the country.
