It was a good day! It was good to meet some of you guys & see your cars/try out the track. I should be able to get to the next get together hopefully if back from visiting the family for Chrissy.

Hi & welcome. You've picked a great car as your first project!! You could maybe get a new body & keep this one for a runner although new bodys for these are expensive. Worth it though on a car like this IMO. Normally you would paint the clear lexan shells on the inside & the hard body shells on the outside. If there is too much damage to it you could use it as a runner as I said.

It's a done deal now, have just paid for it. Probably not a bad deal with the cheap buy price Will avoid Canadian ebay purchases from now on I think!! I look forward to the bikini babes dropping it off though! Wouldn't care what I paid if that was the case.

Thanks again everyone. It looks as though Canada's post is just expensive. I will think twice before bidding on items from there in the future. Maybe thats why I won it, everybody else knows the post prices. Lucky the winning price of US$179.99 isn't too high(I think?). Cheers.

Thanks for the replies & ideas fellas. The guy is also offering it for $80 with a 4-5 week wait & insurance of only $100(too long to wait). I think he has got his price off the Canada Post web site & to be fair is offering to reimburse me the savings once I have it & I'm happy but I don't like this way of doing things as it's a bit risky. It just seems too much compared to all the other cars I have bought from around the world although only one from memory from Canada. P.S. Sorry about the heading being spelt wrong, tried to change it but couldn't work out how to do this.

Hi everybody. Won myself a Nissan King Cab on the bay yesterday & have been quoted what I thought, an unreasonable amount for the postage. The car is in Canada, I'm in Australia & have been told it will be $115(I'm assuming $US) to get it over here. My question is, in your experience is postage expensive to have things sent from Canada? As I was the only bidder & got it at a reasonable if not cheap price I'm wondering if the seller is trying to make up for some losses on the low sale price? Thanks for your help & Merry Christmas to all!!

Planning on coming down for a run on Saturday. Just wondering what time your kicking off? Thanks.

Just found the thread on RCTECH also. Hopefully will get there on Saturday.

Hi Redzone. Thanks for the info. I think I actually ran into you & one of your mates one day about a year ago out at the on road track at Landsborrough. I am thinking seriously of coming to Boondal for a look on Saturday.

Hi Guys. I live on the Sunny Coast & have some old Tamiya's that need an outing. I've been thinking it would be good if there was somewhere to drive, someone getting together with some older Tamiya's. I would be interested coming down & having a bash with you guys.

Hi everybody, pretty new around here so please be kind. Just got to say I love this site!!! I have been looking on here every day for the last 18 months since I got back into R/C. Amazing what you can learn & find out on here. I'm always on here to research what I need to know. Was wondering if anybody could tell me the difference between the TNS chassis cars & the TG10MK-2, which one is better etc? I know one is prebuilt but other than that was interested to know if one was a more serious, better to drive, work on chassis than the other. Also is the TGR/TGX a better or worse chassis than the above 2. I know these are 1/8 scale(I think). I have a lot of different Tamiya models (I know!! I must start putting them in my showroom, just can't kick my ebay/tamiyaclub addiction to find the time to do it)mainly electrics but have only 2 nitros(TR-15T's that I havn't really driven) & was looking to get something nitro/onroad & a bit more serious to have a play with. Or is there another model I haven't mentioned that is better again?? I do have access to a proper bitumen R/C track handy to home so I don't have issues with having to run in public places or carparks etc. Would love to hear back from all the nitro users/fans out there on your views. Thanks.

I do see those tyre caps you are talking about on fleabay. I think tamiyaclub member & ebay seller europro has them normally.

Can someone please help me out with a few questions about the Stadium Thunder.
Firstly do the Blitzer Beetle and Stadium Blitzer have the same gear box internal gears? What other model has the same gearbox? Where does one source replacement gears from as I couldn't see any on the Bay?
I ask as I have just picjked up a second hand one and plan to convert it to a blitzer beetle if I can find some blitzer beetle body mounts.
Thanks
Kelvin
From what I can work out they should have the same gearbox internals. It's only the body, body mounts & wheels(colour) that differ. Also I'm pretty sure the bear hawk shares the same chassis with again different body. They shouldn't be too hard to source on the bay, try Tony's Tamiya Parts. I believe he's a member of this site also. You might want to consider leaving it as a Stadium Thunder as there isn't too many around although you can change back at any time I suppose.

I already have a lot of electric cars & to be honest I'm a bit addicted to anything tamiya(like everyone else around here it seems) & I don't have any on road nitros yet & was thinking of getting one. Just can't help myself, try to have something from each style of car/chassis. Although they have their problems you've got to love the smell & noise!! I did originally say too myself I wouldn't get any but have since got an hpi savage xl & the tr-15's I mentioned.

Hi all. Was wondering which on road nitro tamiya model was the best as far as standard hop ups, handling, speed, etc?? I don't have any yet(except tr-15t) & wanted opinons before lashing out & making a mistake. Thanks.

Hope everyone had a great Chrissy!! I should have asked about shipping costs before I bid but took the gamble I suppose, my fault for not checking. Most of the time I rely on people doing the right thing & this guy more than likely is but I was a bit shocked at the cost. You never know I may get a reimbursement. Thanks to everyone for your replies.
