Hi guys, After looking through all of my gear, I have FOUR totally different servos, I wonder if you could help! They are as follows:- Acoms IC AS-7 Acoms IC AS-12 Acoms IC AS-2 Acoms IC AS-17 Every single one is different n size (the smaller two by far at the AS-12 and AS-17's, of which the connectors appear to be the same). The other two have different sized connectors. I am totally unsure why I have these and what they could have been for? A couple are new so I must have had them from a packet of some sorts? I think moving forward I nned the servos to fit the standard 'TEU' speed controller that comes with the new Tamiya kits, so what servos would that be then? I need to buy a few more also for restore projects I would like to start, but I would need to know what receivers these would fit? Any ideas? I have lots of hand sets so it may be cheaper for me just to get a couple of servos and receivers instead of a whole handset package but not sure I'd need to do the sums I guess Thanks guys, oh and all of my models are on the old frequency, I don't really know what i'd need to do to get the new frequency and how I would go about that - any ideas? Would it require a whole new set of radio gear and crystals or could I just pop in new crystals etc? Thanks

Ahhh so in other words they have totally cheated? It's a case of a the bodyshell looking like the olf car but it sits on basically, a COMPLETELY different type of car altogether??

Ah right, do you mean a new type of plastic was used for the chasis though as opposed to a different 'design' of chassis?

I've got a countach body to spray and make, but no car for it to sit on!! What's the best body to buy for it any ideas?!

Geez - do you think that is because it was not very popular? At least when kits are re-released, it means people who buy and then sell are going to sell them cheaper than the complete originals yet effectively we have exactly the same car Surely there is a list somewhere of what cars have been re-released though??

I like most of you on here, love the re-re as its a reminder of our childhood. Over the past 3 years since I got back into this fantastic hobby, i've been trying to see what old cars will be re released, and what ones are not that I have desperately wanted, I've gone a either purchased BNIB (Marui Ninja!!), or second hand on ebay (Tamiya Monster Beetle!). I'd love to know what cars are available re-re and what ones may come out - is there any way of finding this out? Many thanks!

Don't think they are too specialised in terms of sizes, I guess what I need to do is count all of the screws (zzzzz) from the manual, and then try and get them from other kits etc?

Ok so I have worked out all the screw sizes etc from the manual, and the approximate amount that I need, but now I just need the screws. Does anyone have any ideas where I can purchase the scres from? DIY stores do not have the correct sizes. Am I just better of looking on ebay all of the time for packets that come up for sale?? Does anyone know the best way of getting hold of all the necessary screws etc to build a Samurai from scratch? I ask as a while ago I won a Samurai, all parts etc but it comes with NO screws at all! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated Thanks,

MAN what a great looking buggy this really is! I now have one to go along side my Ninja Such a great looking buggy, they both are A couple of questions for all you enthusiasts out there!:- I'd like to ball race my Samurai so I'm wondering if anyone knows the dimensions of the bearings for it?? Also the quantity I would need! Also I ordered some bearings off someone on ebay for the Ninja - I had been recommended them by one of you on here - can anyone remember then name of the ebay seller? Finally, does anyone know what tenac' bearings are? Are these just specific plastic ones or can a metal upgrade be made that would improve performance? Wow what an amazing collection you have! I have a few Ninjas, a Galaxy and a Samurai! Marui rock and I WISH we could see Marui re-release some of thier old RC cars but it won't happen, they only make BB guns now!

My father has one but its knackered to the point where it doesn't work properly It was a great little car - I can't see any pictures on the Internet about the car or any information and I just wondered if anyone else has one!!

Delta Peak - I think the energiser one has that as the light goes off when the battery is charged so I think that means it's a cut-off for over charging!

Ni-Mh is the way to go then no problem! The higher the mAh means the longer they will run for - check! So I basically need to make sure the charger I use with them is a delta peak charger? How can I tell if ones are this or not, simply as they would be advertised as beig so I take it? I must admit I have the same problem with my Energiser batteries too with the Charger, hey don't keep charge at all now, even though the lights go out to indicate the charge has finished - I presume there was always still a trickel charge going through them then??

I've got that charger but how can you charge AA batteries from it? Do you need a special adaptor?

Right ok that is making more sense now that's what I first thought! So what AA batteries and charger would you recommend as the best? Also as Grubby says - are these good batteries? I'm nore interested in lots of power rather than run time as they can be recharged So am I right in thinking I need to look for Ni-MH or Ni-Cad - also what's the difference? My friend aways used Ni-Cad and they were the best I thought! Thanks!

Hi yes mine is a Nikko also! So will the Lipos make it even faster then or just last longer?? Also does anyone have a link so I can see what they look like/where to buy them from/how much they cost? Also are you saying that my Energiser battery charger (that came with the energiser rechargeable batteries) will not charge other batteries to thier maximum/in the correct way??
