  1. Hi Guys, I have purchased an old RC car that requires 'AA' batteries (X8)!. I remember as kids when I had one, buying normal batteries were useless, my friend had Uniross rechargeable ones and his car flew in comparison! I thought I'd ask if its down to particular akes of battery or more so the type (I imagine) of rechargeable battery that you use? Any help would be fabulous, many thanks in advance
  2. Hi guys, a quick question, on the box, does it state 1/16th scale by any chance?? If so what was the turbo panther actually based on? Was it a real buggy?? Thanks
  3. They really are great I always wanted one as a kid and got one a year ago re-re, it is such fun! Its good in that you need to have the skills to keep it upright (not easy!). I have uprated the suspension, stuck in an RZ motor and fully bullraced it! I didn't know you could fit a different pinion in it! Anyone got a link so I can purchase one? I have the original which is what, 11T I imagine??
  4. Geez I'll say!
  5. Interestingly someone else has the same speed controller and has the same issue as me?! Answers on a postcard please!!
  6. Yup I second this request. It would be great to see a list of both what has already come out and what is in the pipeline! Pity Tamiya don't offer a voting poll then re-release based on what the actual customers would like to see!!
  7. Hi guys I am trying to help one of my mates out with his Clod Buster! He got it off ebay and has yet to use it!! We have noticed there are four connectors including a separate battery box (which according to the instructions you don't have to use??). Obviously two of the connectors go from the servos to the receiver, and the other comes in from the switch (the lead from the other side of the switch must go into the battery box??). This leaves a spare lead sticking out of the manual speed controller with nowhere to plug it in?! Does this mean it is all connected up wrongly? Can anyone help us to sort the issue? The sun is out and we would love to take it to the beach!! Thanks, look forward to responses - something is not right, just not sure what?!
  8. That is incredible!! So was it from a normal model shop? Were there more there? I would have purchased the entrire shop at that price!!
  9. I hope so, it's just that I purchased it from them a couple of months ago, fingers crossed though!
  10. Hey no was not aimed at you. Just lots of posts here of people getting bargains and selling them on for a profit!
  11. Nope I turned it on and then pressed it. I'll try that tomorrow and let you know how I get on, many thanks
  12. They don't make them like they used to hey
  13. Hi thanks for your response. No thats the thing, even when I press the 'setup' button it's not working properly! I.e the lights do not flash - it's brand new I've never actually used it - I did set it up a couple of months ago all ready but had never taken the car out for a test drive as I was wating on a few ther parts! I'm wondering if the speed controller for whatever reason has decided to stop working Does anyone else have one of these and if so has this happened to you??
  14. I have to ask this question and hope I don;t offend anyone here I certainly don;t mean to, but seeing as we are all RC enthusiasts, can I ask why some of you woudl be getting great bargains with your car finds etc, then just selling them in almost straight away just to make some money?! I'd be so chuffed I had found such a great deal that I'd be holding onto it for life
  15. Has anyone got one of these? I thought I'd successfully set this up a few weeks ago, but tofay I went to use me car for the first time and it's not working! I followed the nstructions but the lights do not flash the sequence to state t is remembering any of the throttle movements I try and save to it. Has anyone else come across this problem? Many thanks
  16. In Sri Lanka?! Was it brand new and boxed?? How much did it cost if you don't mnd me asking?!
  17. Ahhh right I see, good job you said that I was totally lost
  18. Sorry to be a real nub nuts here, but I have no idea what an 'SRB' of a 'DF' are I'm afraid. Could someone let me know
  19. Hi James, Thanks for your response. Interesting read and makes perfect sense. For me then its a disappointing model in the fact that it was a land mark car, had the right kind of motor and styling, but just failed to live up to performance it was supposed to be offering in a way Still wouldn't mind one in my collection though of course
  20. I think I'll stick with Vintage as Im worried buying new just won't make me feel special when I drive them like the old cars do For me its about living old memories, but each to thier own of course
  21. In what way?
  22. I too prefer the Vintage, they defiately have more character
  23. I really like the old Bigwig, but was wondering if any of you have one, can explain why despite the Technigold motor in them, they were not overly fast? They were specially designed as a Tamiya landmark I remember, and were rather expensive compare t the other Tamiya cars around at the time, yet they were not that fast. Was it due to the sheer weight of it? I know they were supposed to be really good aerodynamically, but thier chassis did seem rather large, although of course it did house an 8.4V? Just a thought I've always had so I thought I'd post on here for some answers
  24. As with lots of you on here, I LOVE collecting Vintage - memories of my youth etc etc. I was however wondering if there really is that much difference nowadays with the newer Tamiya RC electric cars to that of their Vintage? I.E Has the car designs changed that much? Engineering wise/motor size/capacity etc etc? I don't think they could have done but then I only own Vintage so I wouldn't really know!
