Graupner Ultramat 14 Computer Peak Charger
Malakite replied to Malakite's topic in General discussions
Hi brilliant thanks for the advice. No I don't have those heads, have the posted me the wrong ones I wonder? Any ideas where I could purchase the ones you have posted up from? Thanks -
Excellent i'll have a look as i'm referring to a set of stickers for a Marui Ninja so they are obviously not Tamiya ones!

Would someone actually show me via a pic what these adaptors look like, I have no idea!
-
I would love to get a couple of copies of some old decals, is this possible and if so how much does it cost?

Graupner Ultramat 14 Computer Peak Charger
Malakite replied to Malakite's topic in General discussions
Also I wondered if I should just get a dirt cheap easy to use charger instead, or would that just fry my batteries all too quickly? -
Fair point, and you are so right about cars just going off into the trees etc for no reason!
-
In terms of cost though, would you say it's still an excellent buy?
-
Thanks, but a super stock rz 23 motor for example, is still a very fast motor, or would you recommend a 19 turn motor as being of similar cost and speed?

A while ago I sought advice on here for what a good charger would be. Most of you seemed to think the Graupner Ultramat 14 Computer Peak Charger was a good level charger. I have purchased this and use it to charge my 7.2 NiCd 3600Mah batteries. Graupner Ultramat 14 Computer Peak Charger The problem is I needed to purchase battery connection leads for it which I got at the same time as the charger. The touble is that they constantly lift up off the charger, even if ever-so-slightly, causing the charging connection to break and then I have to fiddle for ages just to get the connection again to charge my battery. I have to say it is a right old royal pain and wondered if anyone had this charger and the same problem, or how they overcame it? I thought the battery connection leads would fit in snuggly but they just literally have to be poked inside the lead slots on the top of the charger and constantly lift off the contact points. Also I wondered what the highest voltage setting I should apply when charging batteries is? At the moment im charging my 7.2V at a rate that takes about 40mins to fully charge, as I dont want to cook the batteries, but I expect I could charge them a lot quicker - does anyone know?! Many thanks and sorry to be a pain

Brilliant replies thanks! Spider monkeys..rofl! OK so i'lls tick the ESC in all old cars then (will have to buy a couple more) but isn't it better to keep original cars exactly how they were? Does an ESC just make the efficiency better or is there a difference with speed etc also then?
-
Geez now im confused. So in a nutshell, the more turns means the more turns of wire inside the motor on its spindle, which means what, faster speeds or lower speeds? Would a 23 turn motor be a faster or slower motor than say a 19 turn, or does it not work like that?
-
Got ya, just like me buying an old Marui Ninja NIB so I could re-live my childhood! So is the super stock rz 23 turn available now then and the best on the market I take it? I want to upgrade a couple of my cars so want to buy a good motor or two
-
Can I ask, are these motors the best things ever made, or is it just sentimental feelings towards them? If they are still the best, why on earth has Tamiya not started reproduction of these?
-
OK yet other ESCs you can have a smaller receiver without the BEC?
-
SO hold on, do I need to use a BEC receiver with a TEU101BK, or are you saying you I can use a receiver without BEC with this speed controller?
-
Hi, I am looking at hopping up and experimenting with various cars I have. I would like to get a couple of upgraded motors as I have already bullraced most of my models now. What motor/s would you all recommend? Is the Technigold motor a quality motor and one of the best to purchase, or would you recommend others instead? I have a Re-re lunchbox bullraced, a re-re Hornet bullraced, a Marui Ninja soon to be bullraced, and a Marui Galaxy fit for the scrap heap just now! Also do the new Lipo batteries enable cars to go even faster, or is it just that they last longer?
-
Thanks. Hmm so basically unless you want to greayy old style you would always make sure you have a eceiver with a BEC then, i'm suprised you can even but receivers without now to be honest?
-
Hi guys, I am not sure I have this right. Do you only need a receiver with a BEC if you are running a manual speed controller? I'm not really sure what else you would need the function for? I notice that receivers without the BEC feature are literally half the size, but does that mean you require a separate 4AA battery pack in the car to operate it? I'm confused (doesn't tale much!) Thanks

The Nottingham area hey? Brilliant! Me too! How often do you guys meet for races/fun, and where abouts exactly?
-
You can PM me his number too and i'll call him and ask what the score is exactly with the kits and let you all know?
-
Wow works well in a 19 turn motor hey? I presume the lower the turn motor the more powerful/faster it is? If so are the Tamiya Technigold motors some of the best/fastest motors you can get? I remember I had something like a Palma Yokomo motor years ago and it made my old Monster Beetle go SOOO quickly!! Also can I ask what 'BEC' unit is?

Hi guys, I have a Marui Ninja NIB and also a couple of old ones that do not have shells. Seeing as I can't find any shells online anywhere, I wondered if it's possible to take my NIB shell to a manufacturer and get some more made/copied? Is this possible and if so is it really expensive?! Thanks!

Hi everyone, I have just received a beaten up Marui Galaxy off ebay that is need of restoration. The trouble is i'm not sure what parts are missing etc. Can anyone help with what I may or may not need? Some parts are broken etc but it will be a great project. Does anyone actually own one? Are they fast / good to drive etc? If anyone knows of a manual I could get my hands on i'm sure that would help! Marui models were great and I am also in the process of restoring a Ninja (my first childhood car!). Many thanks in advance everyone
-
Yes i'm going to stick an ESC in for sure, have one waiting. The trouble is that without an instruction manual i'm not sure what else is currently missing from the car. Any ideas where I may be able to source one from? Better still would be to find it on a PDF format? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Brilliant, thanks for the reply
