Body Shell Repairs - Any Ideas On How To?!
Malakite replied to Malakite's topic in General discussions
Thanks for the tip, but surely you'd still still see a thin line round the edge as I'd never be able to cut neat perfect circles from a lexan shell that would fit flush - or am I missing a special tip on how to cut these?? -
Body Shell Repairs - Any Ideas On How To?!

I know what you mean, the holes the body shell instructions state to drill in the roof for the antenna are 6mm!! You only really need 3mm at most! Ridiculous! -

Lambourghini Shell On A Tt-01 Type E Chassis
Malakite replied to Malakite's topic in General discussions
Hi there, Yup I drilled the 'tic tac' shape part at the rear of the shell, and have since realised that had the wrong body arms (where the body clips go into) on the rear of the car, so I have changed those and now the back lines up with the holes ok BUT the front do not. could change the body clip arm thingies on the front, but you would still need to really tug on the shell to get it to pop over those arms at the front, so I'm wondering if something else is not quite right? When you say the 'lowest edge of the windscreen' do you mean the holes are literally by the windscreen so where the windscreen wiper decal is? Mine are nearer the bottom of the bonnet towards the front bumper, so is this wrong?!..... Also any ideas if the front holes ARE wrong, how I could fill them in at all? Thanks -
Lambourghini Shell On A Tt-01 Type E Chassis
Malakite replied to Malakite's topic in General discussions
Hi there, yes it is! I REALLY thought I had lined everything up, now its got holes in the wrong places, 6mm ones at that! The weird this is, if I line the shell up with the front chassis pins, it would appear that the shell would be perfectly lined up with the front wheels, but then the rear of the shell with 2 extra mini dents for drilling positions at the back, would not line up meaning I'd have to guess myself - is that right?! I hope that makes sense?! -
Hi guys, I've been slowly but surely making my Lambourghini shell with full light kit and spoiler kit. It was all going so well until I drilled the holes so that it would fit onto the TT-01 Type E chassis that I purchased for it, but the holes do not line up at all!! Even when I look at drilling the other available holes in the shell, it still would not line up it would appear. Has anyone tried this shell on the TT-01 Type E chassis and can advise? Also any ideas what I can use to fill in the now redundant holes I have drilled, or am I best leaving them so that I can use the shell with other chassis should I so wish in he future (although very doubtful!) Thanks and any advise really would be great!

30cms - out of interest, what way did you have the tyre tread on your Countach? You will notice that each tyre has a pattern facing forward on one side of the tyre, then one facing backward on the other side. You can only have two sets of tyres to have that forward/backward tread on the same side, so I wondered what set up you have - whether its on the front or back? Hope thats makes sense!!
-
Haha plus make the battery last about 2 mins!
-
Haha thats ok I've use dthem both luckly enough the COuntach sheel uses BOTH sets of 5mm then requires a further 4 sets of 3 mm, crazy, so in total TWELVE LIGHTS!!!!
-
Right looks like I just need 3mm although I think I should get half white and half orange as thats the colour of the light stickers
-
Thanks for looking but it says the cheapest shipping is $78!!!!!!!!!
-
Hi Rich - ahh right that makes sense then! Well it says number 3 on most although the TLU I have as you have stated, has 2 sets of lights, one red and one white, both with 5mm LEDs which fine perfectly, so that must mean I need 5mm ones?! Why are things never simple!!
-
Do I need just the 3mm do you know?? I can't work it out!!
-
Hi mate, so is it not cheaper to get these rather than the whole set then or just as cheap to do it with the full set each time??
-
Hi guys, I have 1 X Tamiya TLU-01 for my Lambourghini Countach i've been making. After starting to fit the lights, it would appear I need (shock horror!!) another FOUR SETS! I just wondered if you can purchase the lights separately to plug ito the control box that comes with the TLU-01 set, instead of the whole pack (which comes with the control unit etc) - does anyone know??!
-
Nice!
-
Brilliant, I've ordered from ebay, many thanks

I've slowly been building my Countach, but although the bodyset comes complete with the wheel hubs, it does not come with the tyres. Does anyone know the correct tyres to go with the hubs? Any help would be ace! Many thanks
-
Hi mate, yup its just a 540 silver can so i'll swap and have a try, thanks

FANTASTIC POST and one I fully agree with! These are absolute CLASSIC vintage cars, enjoy them and treat them well you will get far more enjoyment from running your Hunter than you would from building a brand new modern spec Tamiya, trust me on that!! I must get a Hunter to join my collection at some point!

Hi guys, Has anyone else had it whereby for some unknown reason, sometimes you hit 'forward' or 'reverse' and it just does not respond, then you take your thumb off the controls, the it will suddenly work the next time you try forward or reverse? I have no idea what the reason is behind this, but it's happening!! Once the car is moving in either direction, it will not cut out, it's only when I first try to move either way that sometimes there is just no response at all! Any ideas?

Does Anyone Know When New Re-re's Come Out/are Planned?
Malakite replied to Malakite's topic in Re-Release Discussions
Definitely. Also you'd be really miffed wouldn't you if you purchased an old classic Tamiya NIB for there to then be a re-re a couple of months later! I dare say that must have happened to a few people on here?!
