Hi guys, I'm after getting some bullet connectors for my Marui Samurai engine, but I just can't see them readily available online, even on ebay! Am I searching the wrong name or are they not available?? ANy thoughts even alternative suggestions would be great!

-
Tamiya part number #51000
Forget the original, some of its bits are on hard to find/expensive parts trees
Brilliant, have ordered, many thanks

-
DOH the whole thing has snapped now! Any ideas how I can obtain a strengthened one or at the very least an original servo saver for it??

-
I ordered a Tamiya AA battery drill!
What are the ones with the scale you are talking about then??
-
Brilliant, thanks guys

-
The one i have "Black with green sticker", runs on ball bearings and runs strong, i have no dyno to test it but seems something like a 19T. Will post some pictures.
Bye
WWD
How would these motors have compare to a technigold then?

I have an old Parma Yokomo motor, is black and has a sticker on it with yokomo written in fluo green. I've no idea of the specs, number of turns, RPMs.....
Any one can help?
Bye.
WWD

Thats right it was a Parma Yokomo 'modified'! I have no idea the turns etc also, but I'd love to find out! Mine was like a dark red colour but it was all like graphics/stickers?

I am wanting to drill holes in my new Countach body, but instead of keep using my large main electric drill, I wondered if anyone could recommend a small hand held model one, I presume they do exist?? I just can't find one!
Also to save starting another thread, does anyone know the best way to remove Tamiya spray paint from a Poly shell? I used their 'masking stickers' on the windows, yet a couple seem to have leaked and paint has got through
I would just want something to brush on lightly to remove the excess paint! Any suggestions would be very helpful! Thanks as ever

Ok, here's my view, my opinions, my estimates, all of them wrong.

A re-release of:
the Super Champ = Nice. It was my first Tamiya and "hobby grade" R/C kit. I'll buy two. Not startling, though, since the chassis is so similar to the BC and SS. I'd say 50% probability of re-release.
the original SRB-based F-150 = Yeah, ok. I'll get one. Not startling, though. I don't remember it being as popular as the other SRBs. 30% probability of re-release.
the original Toyota HiLux = Startling. Would never expect it at least not in all metal like the original. 5% probability of re-release.
the original Toyota HiLux with the plastic 3-speed transmission and straight chassis rails = Meh. I might buy one, not sure. I already have a Toyota High Lift and it might be too similar. Not startling. Disappointment type of feeling, really. 8% probability.
the Fox = Cool. I'll buy one. Not startling. I hope it is coming. 65% probability.
the Wild One = Cool. I'll buy one. Not startling. I hope it is coming. 65% probability.
the FAV = Pass. Not startling. Was never interested. 60% probability.
the Holiday Buggy = Pass. Not startling. Was never interested. 70% probability.
the Sand Rover = Pass. Not startling. Was never interested. 70% probability.
the Astute = Ok. Maybe buy one. Not startling. 45% probability.
the original Falcon = Cool. I'll buy one. Not startling. I hope it is coming. 50% probability.
the Bruiser = Startling. Would never expect it at least not in all metal like the original. 20% probability.
the Bruiser with the plastic 3-speed transmission and straight chassis rails = Same as the plastic HiLux above. Meh. 25% probability.
the Blazing Blazer = Startling, because it was never a very popular model. I doubt this one. 5% probability.
Any others I missed?
Thinking about that was fun, even though I'm totally wrong!
Good post, makes interesting reading, and you are as correct as anyone of us guessing

-
It was called something like 'Yokohuma'? or something...can anyone help me find out what it was?? Any ideas?
-
Super thanks guys! One quick Q, do I need a specific high torque servo saver in order for it to be compatible with the Monster Beetle??
Also Vagabondstar - how have you managed to get a larger Avatar than I??!

Is it an issue with the servo mount or the servo horn? If its the servo mount maybe you could try using a 3mm machine screw straight through the servo mount hole and the mounting bars (may need drillling out), with a nut on the underside, if the rear adjustable mounting bar is loose try shimming it with some very thin plastic card. If the servo horn itself is loose you could check you still have the thick plastic washer uder the screw that holds the horn on, if not find a metal or plastic replacement. Or maybe the thread inside the splined gear that you screw it into is stripped. I have 5 ORV chassis and dont have a single problem with any of them (in respect to servo issues only! lol) but the steering does take some punishment on these, as the wheels are heavy and wide they put alot of leverage on the steering servo. I regularly check it both while running and after. Hope some of this turns out helpful. Ben
Thanks for the insight! yes all the steering horn is complete including the plastic bearing underneath, it just seems SOOOO loose

-
The rear servo stay should be adjustable so you should be able to put in a new servo without much problem. You just can't use 2 different sized servos if you still use the MSC.
Hi mate,
Pleased to say that's not a problem as I have an Electronic Speed Controller

Does anyone think I should purchase a new set of plastic sleeves for the steering servo? Anyone know what parts tree that would be?
-
I've had problems with the steering on my beetle in that the entire servo steering horn seems unstable and extremely loose. I glued the entire lot together as one part had snapped, yet even where the screw goes into the top of the servo doesn't appear all that firm. I've tired another Servo to see if that was the issue, but again they are second hand and I'm wondering if this means it's because they are a little worn where the tapping screw goes in? Trouble is I would need to find a brand new OLD servo (accoms) and it would need to be the larger variety as I don't know if there is a kit that would allow a smaller more modern servo to fit into the beetle - any ideas on how to solve the problem would be greatly appreciated

For now I have resulted in applying Tamiya screw lock into the servo to try and hold the whole thong together!!

When you're logged into the forums, up top, just right of centre you'll see My Controls
Click that
Then, in the left hand margin/column, look for Edit Signature
Paste what you copied from the fun page in there

Your comments seem to be set correctly now, just remember if you comment on your own models (if you're replying to a comment question) that you then have to go back to that page and add your own comments too.
Hi Twinset -thanks so much for the help, all seems to be working now I think - it's only taken me about two years to get everything sorted!
I think my comments replies should be visible, I just replied on one and also clicked the 'green' tick on someone comments which presumably means you have accepted their comment for others to view - is that correct?! -
go to the "fun" tab on the front page, select downloads,,scroll to the bottom, cut and paste which one you want to use back into your "edit signature" in your forum profile.
Hi mate, yup I was able to find that before many thanks, but the problem I have is that I cannot see where exactly in my profile, to paste the info into!
Also I noticed when I started uploading pictures to my showroom, that it originally said something along the lines of 'you cannot accept comments from non-members', but then that message disappeared! Do you know if that was a one-off, or do I need to change any settings, as now when I go and check it just says 'type to to leave a comment'??
Thanks again

This thread might be of help --> http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=56671

Brilliant, all sorted, I've now uploaded my cars to the showroom, I wasn't a fully fledged member before, that was the problem!! Now I just need to work out how to add a signature under my name in the forums so that I can add a link to my showroom, any ideas?

-
It was mainly a reaction to your "startling" comment. The FAV/Wild One/Holiday Buggy/Sand Rover/Astute are a given if you ask me and don't constitute as being a startling re-release.
I've always been in the "never in a million years" camp with regard to the re-emergence of the old 3 speeds but I have the feeling that the SRB project went much better than anticipated and they may be prepared to take the risk of a re-re Bruiser with a price tag of ~£350 and a few design improvements here and there.
I don't believe 1980s production issues and costs can be applied to 2010. Not saying I'm convinced it will happen, just that I'm now prepared to consider the possibility.
The one area we know is not an issue is that of licencing.
Well said, agree with that!

If you cannot find the bearings you require please email us with your details. We are listing FULL bearing sets every week, and we may have what you need right now. Email shop@rcbearings.co.uk

Brilliant!

-
The only trouble I can't find a contact email address or form for RCbearings! I wanted to ask them for certain dimensions for an old Marui I need bearings for as mentioned. Am I missing something at all? Where is the link on their website??
-
I bought the bearing set for my High Lift from Joaquim (Walawala store as it was at the time).
Bearing quality is fine, it took 2 1/2 weeks to get to the UK, not unreasonable from Macau, & pricing was good.
However, when you factor in the shipping costs and timescale involved, there is no advantage in buying from him for me. Time itself has value to me, difficult to quantify, but a value nonetheless.
Having compared what I paid at Walawalastore some months back to RCBearings' price today for a rubber shielded ABEC3 High Lift set, including shipping costs, RCBearings are £0.50p cheaper, not much in itself, but 1 or 2 day delivery compared to 14+ is very significant.
Geez I'll say! Fair enough I didn't know there was that little margin in it, that's amazing!
-
I must be missing something here, why cannot I not seem to upgrade/make my own showroom?
Thanks!

Update - I now have a Turbo Panther and a Turbo Panther II, sourced them both from ebay, both in excellent condition
