can you use a lipo battery? if so.........540!

i just ordered some gears off ebay, .4 module and tamiya black gears. but thanks for the offer. I put in red soft springs in the rear with quite a bit of preload. DANG!!!!! this thing handles like a champ!!!

what other tamiya parts can i use to make the tread wider on my TL-01? I am using a hpi 67 camaro body and i need to get the rear out to 110 mm wide, and the front to 100mm wide any help would be great! I am using the hpi vintage wheels too.

nice alfa. be careful on the track. boxy nose is not at all forgiving to collisions. mine got smashed pretty badly. tamiya 23t is plenty fast for ta03. Try running creme gears for smoother tranny. Gear diff is fine and gets the job done. Just put in some anti wear grease to slow the diff down.
yea thats a repro body that was 55 dollars and shipping was steep. i will use a beater hpi something or other shell instead. as for the geardiff i shimmed them out and slightly tightend the front up just a little more, ( a trick i use on my mini cooper m03) i gotta say this chassis handles well if you tune it right

you keep wreckin it??? theres no better hop up than improving your driving skill!!
hope this helps!! -

well i finally got the ta-03f running with a repro alfa 155 body from jasons store. I put a black can in it with a 21 tooth pinion it is pretty fast just slightly slower than my FF-01. ive got purple super hard springs in front and yellow mediums in rear, with the droop right where i want it. it handles awesome one the asphalt with hpi pro compound radials, and super slicks on the carpet at my lhs!! i dont even have ball diffs in it either. it is the plastic tub, but with a few carbon upgrades, i made the stainless steel swaybars myself and they work great also. I will have pics soon and I will add more hop ups later on maybe a 23 tun motor

jasons store has great tamiya stuff but his customer service in answering emails sucks....... just thought id point that out, i have had 2 small problems with defective tamiya parts hi lift ring gear being one of them and got a replacement with no problems!

after you do bearings another good idea is carbon gear shafts and drive shaft. save a ton of weight and quicker throttle response, you can find that on ebay if your lhs doesnt carry it

What are some good pinion options, or what should i start with, I will be running a 27 turn to 23 turn tamiya motor. the ta03 chassis i just bought from ebay did not come with a pinion or motor (no big deal) i have found plenty .4 modules there, also what was stock pinion size? how many teeth?
is this chassis still competitive in the frp pro outfit? j/w.......

why would they be banned from drift comps??? are they that good at drifting? i may even consider this

Good advice guys!!! best forum yet! ok i got the car in the mail today, it has bearings but no hopups, i buy lots of stuff online anyway. as for racing okay maybe not a winner but ill try. I have an FF01 that handles great! i figured this chassis would do the same (maybe not) due to the motor up front. it does have an unusual suspension design what up with that ??
i may just restore this ride to the audi touring car since that looks wicked. Oh yea i drooled over this kit when i was in highschool and couldnt afford it then, but at least i have one now! -
what are the weak pionts on the ta-03 chassis? i just won one on ebay and it will be my first belt drive touring car chassis. Any hopups i should have? all advice is good advice, I do plan on racing it when my lhs holds parking lot races this summer!

hope this helps!!
