Thanks for the ideas lads. I guess Ill have to try to mask all those moldings then. Darn, I would have loved to just paint the chrome with a tiny brush, back it with the same brush and then spray the background color all over. But you are right in asking the Spazstix guys. Cant hurt to give it a try.

Hi, do you have any experiences painting the Spazstix chrome paint with a brush? I have a Chevy body with lots of moldings that would be easier to paint with a thin brush rather than use an aerosol spray. Thin trim strips are difficult to mask and the chrome would not have to be absolutely perfect. How about larger areas if I add paint thinner and retarder?

Thanks for the info, great car! Red over gold might be just it. I think I will get mayself some rest pieces of polycarb and try out a few variations.

Hi all, I am looking for a deep red color darker than the normal tamiya red. Perhaps with some metal effect. Anyway, I thought about using the translucent red with gun metal backing. Do you know this would come out or do you know of any showroom pictures? Maybe I should use silver backing instead but I think that would be too light. Or do you have any other recommendation? LRP also makes what they call Ice Colour, I suppose it is similar to Tamiyas Translucent colors?

Thanks for the thoughts, it does seems that the whole point is in the end the battery holder. Buying a TA02 FRP kit just to get this plastic part seems redicolous so I will try to find another way. Top force J-parts (9115041) TA02 J-parts (0115177)

Hi all, is it possible to fit the 9115041 Top Force J parts to TA02 carbon chassis plates? The catch is that the 53166 FRP chassis set is quite rare and who wants the whole set if he will replace the FRP plates for carbon and many of the plastic parts for alloy any way. But the 0115177 J parts of the set (battery holder etc.) is evidently not available alone at all. Has anyone done this, is it actually possible? The pictures I have seen indicate that some parts are identical and others arent. Or maybe the battery holder can be improvised in a different way?

Hi all, I have been looking for the TA02 FRP chassis kit + the TA02 carbon chassis plates, but as these are quite difficult to find I would also be interested in a complete TA02 chassis with these parts (mint cond.). Ah yes thanks, I misunderstood and thought the FRP kit is both, plates an extra parts. So I need both, TA02 4WD FRP Chassis Kit set and plates. Darn I did not see that FRP kit on Ebay I would have gone for it!

Hi all, I am loking for a carbon chassis conversion kit for the TA02 chassis. I believe this is the Ref. 53166? I had no luck on ebay so far. From earlier posts I read that I could also try to get the plates and some required parts but it seems even more difficult to get all those single parts so I am going for the complete kit. Can you help me with a hint or shop reference were I might find the conversion kit?
