  1. Update - The root of the problem has been found. Whilst building up the kit, I put M03 universal driveshafts inplace of the kit dogbones. They turned out to be a little too long. When I fitted the dogbones, the suspension was fine with no binding. Problem solved !!
  2. Just a thought, the steering is also very tight, I've used standard TT01 front knuckles, should I be using M03 ones ???
  3. Hi, Just bought one of these conversion kits as I wanted a 4 wheel drive mini. I'm having major suspension binding issues, anyone else having this problem ? I've tried shortening the upper arms pins but this hasn't sorted the problem out. Anyone got a solution ? Also, I noticed that building the arms as per the manual has them out of line with the dogbones, therefore they have had to be fitted the opposite way round. I also had the wheelbase problem, and I've fitted aTtamiya Mini shell which has the front wheels a bit too far forward. When I get it finished, I'll post some pics. Thanks for your help. 4. The one on the 192 is JR Hobbies. It is quite a way down the 192. He's English from Newcastle. There is one near Downtown called Colonial Photo Hobby on Mills Avenue which is quite good and good for all modelling.
  5. Hi Craig, I see you want some TA05 hop-ups, which ones do you want ? I've bought a used TA05 which I've decided I don't want. It has alloy parts such as motor mounts, diff mounts, motor guard, and an alloy & carbon steering kit. It has TFR shocks, low friction aramid belts and a spare carbon chassis. See ya soon, Ian
  6. Check out this listing :- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...E:IT&ih=025 A used, good condition TT01
  7. Hi, A bit of an update. I've been "running" it for 3 weeks now but haven't had much success due to other problems. One thing I can say though is it is not just a "different" TT01. The set up is totally different, different suspension, different tyres etc which gives the car a totally new angle to work with. I'm still working on set ups and still getting used to it but I'll keep you updated. Regards, 32819toon
  8. Hi Vince, Try Humbrol rattle cans. You can clear coat over decals, but you'd need to leave the decals for 24 hours to let them shrink first, and then put thin coats over the whole shell, which will also protect your paint. Do quite a few coats as thin coats will need a good build up to get a good thick coating for both the paint and the clear coat. See you tomorrow night, Ian
  9. thorpe12000, thanks for your comments about the graphite comversion kit. You're the only one who has anything positive to say about it. I'm glad you also let your club mates have a drive as it will improve the perception of this very underated car. I'm waiting for delivery of mine and I really can't see why people should see it as being uncompetitive. At my club everyone says "it's still a TT01" Well with upgrades, it doesn't have much Tamiya left at all. Hobbyshops such as RCMart sell parts really cheaply so upgrading doesn't cost nearly as much as going out and buying a new car. My club is a pretty informal one with people using Pan Cars and old touring cars so I'm looking forward to putting a modified motor in and having a go against them. I'll let you know how I get on.
