Hi any idea what the next member awards theme will be? As apart from setting fire to my models I had no pics I could enter into this one []. Its just between my mate and I we have about 7 models waiting to be photographed, a full winters worth of work. I know its very hard to decide on a topic for these awards without it just being the same cars every month, but I do feel (personally[:I]) that there is alot of the models that seem to just say pass the entry rules of fire. And also by the slow uptake of places it also seems that there isnt alot of us on here that want to set our models on fire[:0]. If im in the minority im sorry it is just a personal thing.

Well thats helped me alot[]. As normal in here there is an answer to every question. As a group I think we must know everything in the world lol. One question left though, what Brake Horse Power has a Zebra got? ..... []

Hi, now many of you may think im a bit stupid but I really dont know [:I]. Is 1 Brake Horse Power, the power of one horse as in the animal with four legs a bit like a Zebra []? Its just my Schumacher Fusion Nitro RC car has 2.5 HP. However I think 2 and a half horses would be able to pull a real car, (well two would anyway as you dont get many half horses round here[]) but there is no way my fusion would be able to pull a real car [V]. Also you see the odd car with 500 BHP are they saying that that car could pull the same weight as 500 horses [xx(]?? cos I dont think the car would stand a chance?

Think Shodog is right. My cars havent seen the light of day for well over 3 month now so I have mainly been buying bodys just for somthing to do over the winter. I should start to pick up soon.

Hello mate This may be of no help at all, and you may already know this. The HPI Saxo body is a shorter body than most other HPI's it fits on a shorter chassis than say the rs4 pro 2. You may be able to take your car to your local hobby shop and ask if you can try it on for fit. Thants what I do when I can. []

Yeah Twin your right I hate it when you go in the chat room and there is a few people in there and you say "hello"..... "hello"... and nothing? [!] Its a chat room! People shouldnt go in the chat room if they are just going to go off and do somthing else. Im sorry if this seems a bit harsh buts it just somthing that has got to me over the last few month.[:I]

Halfords cars paints have saved my scin many times in 1.1 and 1.10 scales. I dont know if they are the best but they are the best ive found. Much better than cheap corner motor spares shop types. I will be showing my Juggernaut 2 body painted with halfords paint soon on here.

Why not just put a playstation 2 in then you have a cd player, dvd player and games console. Should fit in your glove box or in the boot and then you can still have your head unit for normal use.

I dont see why we carnt have a section for 1.1 cars if people dont like it, dont look, or add to that section. I think it would be interseting to see what real cars people drive. And at the end of the day like he said there is already alot of 1.1 cars on here anyway. Which shows how many people WOULD like this section. I would think that most people who are into rc cars are also into 1.1 cars. If we are going to be picky why dont we get rid of all the other makes of rc cars? This site (i think) is all about us getting on as freinds and to do that it would be nice to talk about and see other things than rc rc rc.

This has been talked about many times. And in the end it is down to what you like. Personaly I dont take on board any argument that electric is better than nitro. The only one I do take is the noise. But only when your in a situation where noise is a problem. But at the end of the day everyone has there own opinion. Its just that all the people who say electric is better have the wrong opinion. []

As long as you run in it propoerly like it tells you in the manual you should have no problems at all with it. I have a Fusion (which is basicaly the same but a touring car same engine gearbox and most of the chassis) and a Menace and have had no real problems apart from the 3 speed transmittion which schumacher do replace if it goes wrong. The other problem on the menace is that the belt starts to slip on hard braking almost straight out of the box. But again schumacher will send you out a bigger tensioning wheel if you write to them or ring them. But they may now be selling the cars with these bigger wheels as it was a problem with all menaces. The only other thing and this will depend on where your running it is that on a feild if it isnt totaly flat when you hit a small bump or hill the front comes up and can flip so i put two battery cells in the front of mine to keep it down. All the parts i just get off the schumacher web site they are a bit more expencive but you can order them from home and they normaly land on the doorstep in about a day. Schumachers are also very simple to take apart and put back together dont be scared to take it to bits as i was because when you do you will realise they are no where near as bad as you think. I have never had any need to touch the thunder tiger engine as nothing has ever went wrong with either of them. apart from maybe adjusting the mixture on a very cold day. One thing i can say is to buy a fast drill for starting i have a slow one and am forever having to use my mates fast one cos mine wont start it. Not sure of costs but when you get it and see the tank. one full tank on mine lasts 9 mins. so the cost is nothing you wont go back to electric once you start with the menace. [] Other than that just go out and have fun. They really are insanly fast. So be carefull.

Hello mate i have a Menace what do you want to know? Yes they do 70mph and yes when you crash doing 70mph it costs alot of money. anything else []

I dont own a digy cam. I would have loved to take some pictures of it through all this. None of you will beleave what a state it was in. Now its got all the detailing done apart from door handles as i want to leave them colour coded. and all the decals which i want to put on are on. (Its going on a schumacher Menace so no point in putting Juggernaurt 2 decals on) Then im just waiting for my screw bag to come from the states so i can put it all together. Not sure if i should wait before i put a picture in my showroom till i get some decent wheels as the ones that are on the menace arnt the best looking.

OK. now the body is sanded and the detailing on the front cab is done. The results are amazing. As my mate who owns a car spraying garage would say "its like glass" []I carnt beleave i have done it. I just wish i had done it black. Ill start on the rear tomorrow.

Laquer is on, just need to polish it now with some fine sand paper. I carnt beleave its the same body i was going to put in the bin a few days ago. Really happy with the end result even though its a bit of a dull colour.

Cos its just as easy to mist the front part in put it down then do the rear put it down and the front is dry and so on. Then you put the whole thing together and laquer it so you get it uniform.

Well now ive put the paint on the front and rear bodys. Looks great []. All i have to do now it paint the rear hatch and put the laquer on [8)]. Lets hope it doesnt go wrong now....

Well lads thanks for all the great advice []. What I have done so far is to put the front part of the body in brake fluid, and took all the paint off. Then I sanded it down till it was smooth. Then coat, by coat Ive put on primer, then sanded it with wet and dry. I folded the corner of the paper over to get into the detail work. So far it seems to be doing well. Fingers crossed [8)]. Im going to get some paint tomorrow so if anyone is interested Ill let you know how well it ends up. With any luck I may get it in my showroom yet. If all else fails Ill just have to put it down as a bad job and buy another body []. Think Ill get someone else to paint it though, and never buy another hard body as long as I live [!]. What a clart on...

Well I got one. My first hard body. Juggernaut 2. £70 with everything brand new in the bags. I have been dredding painting it since I won the auction. It arrived yesterday and as I was off work I set about building it []. Spent 3 hours painting all the detail work on the grille and bumpers and they turned out great []. Then I start on the body itself and thats when it all went so so wrong [V]. The main reson why im not good at painting on the outside of things is because I have no patience [:I]. I apply the gun metal grey metalic and its looking great. Let it dry and its very dull, so I decide to go to the LHS to buy some laquer. I apply the laquer and leave it for an hour to go off. When I come back the body now is a kind of zebra mixture of flat and metalic grey. Im gutted. So stupid me thinks Ill paint over the top with real car paint. Got a tin from the garage spary the body and once again looks stunning []. Give it a few coats of real car laqure and the paint starts to run down the sides [V]. Even more gutted [][]. So I search for some brake fluid in the garage. Non. so I use turps and a tooth brush but it seems to have burnt a layer of plastic from the body leaving a rough surface and deap marks. I know this is entirely my own fault but is there anything I can do? Please help. Thanks

Just to add a bit to this. I got my Juggernaut 2 body from the states yesterday cost £70 with p&p No charges. []
