  1. It actually doesn't have to be a hump pack. I 5 cell will fit fine if you line the cells up side by side. Just my 2 cents. Sparky[]
  2. Hello JB, The kit you bought was relatively inexpensive so there was not much of a savings to be had. For a more expensive kit, the savings might be greater. Also, you don't always buy overseas just to save pricing - another reason is kit availability and hard to find items. Joe
  3. Hi All, I'm looking for a built Sand Scorcher - it can be new built or restored nicely, it doesn't matter as long as it looks nice. I'll pay upwards of $800 for the right one. I also have cars for trade. Please contact me. Cheers, Joe []
  4. Hello All, I'm looking for a very nice and well built Sand Scorcher - does not need to be perfect but I'll pay more if it is. Willing to spend $400-$700 depending upon condition. Thanks, Joe/Sparky
  5. Hi Guys, I am about to receive a vintage futaba wheel radio - my question is "will an esc" work with this? Are there any issues? Also, how do these wheel radio's work for fun backyard running around? Thanks, Sparky []
  6. Simen - very nicely done! I am really liking these more interesting and creative types of "mods" - like ToyMkr's Sand Rover and such. Simen - you are truly a Tamiya Expert now! Sewing is a good thing [] MR Tamiya himself would be proud.... and it helps the cause when you can bench 250 lbs! Best Regards, Sparky.
  7. Thank you all - this is good information. Sparky
  8. Hi All, I'm looking for an ESC that I can use in all my cars, SR, SS, WW and Dyna Storm. The problem is that the Dyna Storm has a 13 Turn motor. Does anyone know of an ESC that will work well with the 13 turn motor and the others - but doesn't cost too, too much (under $100?) Also, I do want reverse. Thanks guys, [] Sparky
  9. If you not going to race - a very solid charger is the MRC Brain. It's only about $50 and I think the new Super Brain for $60 or so will also charge Lithium ION's. Both have a ton of features and with the weak dollar - it's an even greater bargain. If you're going to race you may need to spend $100-$150 for something more competitive. Just my 2 cents. Spark.
  10. Question, Now and then I see some NIB Tamtech's on ebay. Does anyone that has experience with these know if the batteries still hold a decent charge? If not, can you make new battery packs for these? Does anyone have experience with this? Or is it better to just give up on the Tamtechs? Please advise. Sparky [:I]
  11. Hi All, I was on Tower Hobbies yesterday and saw that the Dyna Storm is now discontinued. Do you think that they are just discontuing due to low sales or is Tamiya discontiuning this re-release now? Also, does anyone know when the Super Clod will be out? Are there any videos available on it yet? Thanks, Sparky[]
  12. Hello All, Here's a little change of pace - for you vintage Tamiyas what vintage radio controllers do you prefer and why - for instance, who likes vintage Acoms? or Kraft? or vintage Futaba Wheel? Intersted to hear what you like and why. Sparky.[8D]
  13. I think it need to re-post this since I worded this wrong initially. I am looking for a very nice condition Futaba Vintage am Wheel Radio complete with servos. I will pay nicely for this. Please contact me if you have one that you want to trade for or recieve nice cash payment. Best Regards, Sparky []
  14. Yes - that's it, Tamiya Racer. Do you or anyone have one that they want to sell for a nice $. Sparky! []
  15. I will pay handsomely for a very nice Futaba wheel radio with servos. Thanks, Sparky []
