  1. Sound advice from Sosidge, really no point in purchasing something thats not being raced at your local club. How can you possibly race a nitro when all of your local clubs are racing electric & vice versa or purchase a buggy but clubs are racing only touring cars. ;)

  2. I dunno if any of you have ever been to Sun Valley race track??

They have an awesome facility with both humongas on-road and off-road race tracks, ample parking space, large pitting area. The jumps on their off-road track are nothing short of amazing and would be cool to take airial shots of car whilst in full flight.

It would be cool if any of you want to check it out first and see if my conclusions is valid for what i would propose the nest meeting place, i kindda have reservations of having cars run loose on sand far too abrasive for the sort of things we run?

  3. they did the blizzard.

You're right! but comeon, there's not exactly a big fan base of "blizzard" collectors here as compared to the "Optima" now is there? I have no idea what could've motivated them to re-release that, to test the water an all.

For those of you who are hard core RC10 (associated) more to the point, the "M.I.P 4wd conversion" kit. I once sent out a long email to the guy who owns it. Sent him everything and i mean everything, to try and convince him in re-releasing that now collectors kit and all he had answered me with was "Not interested" i couldnt understand his mentality behind the reason, i mean it's not exactly gonna be short on takers and with the 4wd conversion kits going over the $1000 mark? thats crazy.

I do hope Kyosho has'nt fallen into this mindset about cars of their yesteryears, which is why i think we really are fortunate that Tamiya has given us a 2nd chance to own cars that we once had owned or missed out on.

  4. Im just wondering when and if other rc manufacturers will jump in the re-release bandwagon which tamiya is doing very well in?

The only other obvious manufacturer that could possibly throw their hats in, is Kyosho? And if they ever do, what better car to re-release nonother than the Optima? Is it because no ones given them any attention since this site is solely called what it is? Surely they must have stumbled into this site and seen everything that goes on here? Hows about ebay? the amount of times you see an NIB optima fetch well over the $500 range.

I wonder if any other manufacturers will ever jump on? I highly doubt it but the optimist that i am, perhaps one will step into the circle?

    Your thoughts?

  5. what difference does frequencies make i never new it actually affected performance?, and even if it was illegal how many police are gona stroll around in there shift checking peoples rc transmitter.

The idea with keeping them separate is safety, particularly with aircraft. A large, fuel-powered airplane can easily kill a man if it goes out of control and hits somebody who's not expecting it. That will definitely involve a police investigation, and they won't care how great a deal you got on a 40MHz radio when they find one in your airplane (under all the blood). Same goes for using air frequencies in your cars, it's not hard to shoot down a plane, and you may never know you've done it.

Here in the States we have 60 channels on the 72 MHz band for aircraft, 30 on 75MHz for cars & boats, as well as the 27MHz and 2.4GHz bands.

Just to clariffy, will my 40mhz FM radio be ok then? cheers

  6. Times when your into your Final, your dead last on the grid but all is not lost when you find yourself leading or in second place into the second or third lap by a good margin when all of a sudden (FFS) race director announces to racers "Please stop drivers, computer glitch. we're having a restart"!! [:@]

Times like those where my heart shrank and want to pass out [:'(]

  7. Pardon me James, i came from across the pond and so my region Geographics isnt up to scratch but what state is OC? Oklahoma City? I bet thats a fair drive? [:S]

Having stayed here for a year now, i can see how and why not many peeps turn up for these tamiya meets. What i mean is, there is sooo much to freaking do here and not enough time to do it in lmao. Given that there were only 7 of you in the pic, you guys managed to bring a lot and quality i might add including the small rc in the pic. I take it thats InetRC (crouching down at the front row?) think i saw a pic of him on another rc forum [8-|]

  8. Ive just about been under every kind of weather there is and i dont think theres anything worse than having 110 Degrees Faranheit trackside [6], anyone who went to the HRH Shootout at san fernando valley will know exactly what im talking about. [:D]
