  1. Opened shrinkwrap but kit is unbuilt. No body/wings included. Looking to trade for a Kyosho ZX-5 FS or FS2.

Could also use an RB5 SP2 upgrade kit.

Can add $ to even out the trade, if needed.

    Will add pics later.

  2. I'm looking for the following, don't need to be new, just decent enough for the shelf:

    RC10:

    white front susp mounts

    white wide-track front arms

    black buggy nose plate

    Pro Radiant:

    Front axles

    Front drive shafts

    1 front knuckle

    Rear arms

    Undertray for saddle chassis

Trade or cash. I'm in Toronto, Canada. Thanks

  3. What a great find! How come I didn't see this local ad?! :)

I'm about 15mins West of you, in Scarborough.

I got a similar lot as what you got, about a month ago. Local too, but the stuff was used.

There's a few of us in Toronto that meet every other Sunday morning, if weather permits. If you're interested in meeting some local guys (and find out who else is watching the local classifieds! hahaha). We setup a parking lot track and pretty much run whatever chassis. Guys bring some vintage cars for show and tell, some vintage and modern runners. And most have their own "trade boxes", too.

  4. No more thinking needed whether to build an RR or SS body! I'm doing both! Found myself a fairly complete vintage RR roller with body for the same whopping sum of $40 (SRBs seem to be going cheap 'round here?). Again, missing radio box cover.

The body looks good EXCEPT for the crack on where the body mount on the rear is screwed, so it should be a fairly easy fix.

Anybody have or know where I can get a set of lights for the RR? I need 3. It'd be nice not to have to buy a body set just for the lights.

    Pics to come soon!

  5. I'm seeing a few threads about TA01s/02s lately. Looks like the touring cars will be the next trend of collectibles in the next decade?

I have this pair of unis that came in a Taisan TA02SW chassis. Funny cause 1 of them is in the car (dogbone on the other side) and the other one is in the box with the sleeve not looking like it's supposed to be. I actually thought it's a bearing spacer stuck in the axle and thought of forcing it out. It looks very similar to the 53172. I'll take a pic tonight and let you guys tell me what it is.

  6. Update! Gave the chassis a thorough cleanup. Happy to see that parts are still in excellent condition, probably hardly been run..

Here she is now. Trying to make it look not too flashy and shiny to get that vintage look.. Still waiting to complete the radio box parts and body will be painted soon..

  7. I have a Subaru Impreza Kyosho SuperTen. It's partly disassembled but I believe it only needs front shock tower. LMK if interested and I'll take pics.

Where are you located though? If you're not in Canada/US, shipping might be more expensive than what I'd sell the car for.

  8. Believe it or not, I'm still debating with myself whether to go for an SS or RR shell, for the same reason as giving the MK1 chassis justice. But seeing how much the chassis is unique and rare to an extent, I'm now leaning towards going with RR instead. Thanks guys for your opinions! The only drawback is that the re-re RR decals are ugly. I like the Blue RR better with the ISS/Bel-Ray decals.

I'm aware of what the front tyres are worth, I sold 4 pairs on ebay in the last year for around $80/pair. I'll probably be able to exchange the shell at the LHS for a RR set since the latter is cheaper.

I have a question: How does the re-re radio box differ from the original, aside from the very light tinting? I'll probably drop the idea of finding an original cover and just buy the complete re-re set.

I found all that I need on Jason's store, except for the cam-lock springs. I prefer to order all of them in one shot.

Oh, I didn't expect that anybody would give me parts for free. I was buying.

    Hmnnn....

I would sell the 2010 shell and buy a re-re Rough Rider shell instead, there are two very important reasons why.

    1) Thats a MKI SRB.

    2) You have what look to be near perfect RR front tyres.

Your $40 is very safe but the shell will require Sand Scorcher wheels and tyres and this may make you sell those fronts - great for people like me very very bad for you they are collectable very very collectable.

Buy new (unless you where looking for someone to give them to you?):

    Cam-locks

    Well nuts

    Front body post RR

As for the radio tub one will come along soon.

Please try not to destroy this piece of history chasing the looks of a 2 bit current car.

  9. looks like a great start to your scorcher build

you gonna get the SS wheels/tyres too?

I actually like the Sand Blasters better (specially with the letters filled). If I ever run it, I'll probably get a set of SS tires.

It's a MK1 SRB chassis, nice find! Personally I wouldn't want to put a SS2010 body on it when it's such an early chassis!

    Cheers,

    Alistair G.

I've thought of the same thing, but the scorcher body has been with me for 3 months so I'll just use that. Plus if I get an RR body, then I'll have to get another SRB chassis. B)

Nice find, can you post pics of the two ideas you have for paint schemes... the Shodog and toyota ones...

    This is shodog's:

    378460038.jpg

The Prerunners you can find in the reference page. They have red, orange and yellow straight stripes..

  10. Who doesn't want a Sand Scorcher?! One of the most collectible model ever made by Tamiya. I always wanted one but even with the re-res at $300, it still isn't cheap. So the plan was to find a roller at a good price..

3 months after getting a bodyset, this chassis showed up in the local classifieds for a whopping sum of $40.

It's a Rough Rider chassis, an early one with a black bumper. I remember these bumpers go for a bit of money then, before the re-res. The condition was better than I expected with only some radio box parts missing.

I'm all ears for paint scheme ideas. So far I'm thinking Baja style stripes like Shodog's 4wd scorcher or similar to Tamiya's Toyota Prerunner..

    I need:

    Radio box cover

    Cam-locks

    2 Well nuts

    Front body post

So if anybody has these parts, please let me know. This should be a fun project! It's my first SRB.
