  1. WillyChang, thank you for your response. The car would just be something to tool around with-the only driving it would see would be the occasional run around my driveway. I figure for all my screwing around I am just going to get some type of 4wd buggy-something that can go on and off road, and keep the ferrari for looks. Theres just something about the f40 body that I love (same with all ferraris), same thing with the nsx, although it seems that the 4wd NSX are much easier to come by. And I figure as much as I like the Enzo-the F40 isnt getting any easier to find, or any cheaper, so I may as well keep my eyes on that first. Any other thoughts or suggestions let me know. Thanks all. Paul
  2. Well, I have decided to bite the bullit, and get into this. I have narrowed down my wants to either a 2wd nsx, or a Ferrari f40. Now I see on ebay someone has just the chassis for sale, and there are other parts which seem to be for both models. My question is this-as a brand spanking new enthusiast, should I wait for a complete example to show up, and just update that, or would it be in my best interest to just put one together from scratch, seeing as how they seem kinda hard to come by. Also, if anyone knows of any good hobby shops in the CT/NY area, let me know. Thanks in advance.
  3. David, thank you for the response. After taking the kit apart, it became very apparent that it was geared towards ease of use and not performance. However, it has proven to be a lot of fun to do doughnuts with it in my kitchen, and I cant wait for some nice weather to take it outside and screw around. I figure as a freebie its a good way to see how interested I am in the rc hobby, and if I find I enjoy it I am thinking I will invest in an Enzo. Again, thank you. Paul
  4. Hello all, I am new to this so bear with me. A friend of mine recently gave me this car (Tamiya Ferrari F40 QD item# 46015) and I am currently charging some new batteries for it. My questions are these-first, should I do anything before running the car? It has been sitting for at least a year, possibly longer. Second, although this car is just going to be for giggles around my driveway, is there anything I can do to it (I enjoy tooling around)? It would seem through my limited searching that the "real" Tamiya F40 is a much better platform, and I think if I enjoy fooling with this one I will look for one of them, or maybe get myself an Enzo Ferrari to build. However, it does say in the manual that there are "1150 size" bearings that can be purchased for the car, anyone know of anything else? Lastly, any advice or info anyone can give me will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
