  1. Hi all, I am still determined to find myself a bashing buddy down here. To help my plight I have taken some shots of todays Fowl Mead Tamiya Bash! -Yeah, still only 1 dedicated member! Had a cracking time with the Fire Dragon, practicing power slides on the loose surface...until one of the rear shocks popped out! Got some good jumps too (check out the ramps!) some sweet landings and some not so sweet! If anyone knows of other/better venues then please post! Bashing Heaven or What????????
  2. I'd vote vintage. I like to bring a smile to people's faces when they recognise it in the park!
  3. Nice one Paul. Your Mastermind Special Subject; Tamiya Gearboxes of the 80's!
  4. Ha Ha! Welcome aboard! Looks good. Are you building a runner or shelfer?
  5. Hi guys, These gearboxes came with an ebay lot. Want to sell them on, but don't know which buggy they are from! Thanks 28Yok
  6. Thanks 94eg! Great advice. I am glad I can get tyres that can do both on/off road. I expect the increased width will increase traction in both situations(?) I felt so guilty that I had 'raped' my Fire Dragon that I stripped down both gearboxes and re greased them!!! Guilt trip over.
  7. EZRun ate My Tyres!!!!!!!!!!!! I took my Fire Dragon, out on tarmac for the first time tonight. It was amazing, so much faster than my offroad attempts. It was so crazy I just had to knock on my neighbours door so he could experience the insanity! At the end of the run (which I am glad to say I was getting the hang of it) I noticed a new challenge; My tyres where worn half way down the spikes... Now these were pretty much brand new before the 15 mins. I reckon another 2/3 runs and my tyres will be down to slicks! Although this is funny, I need some advice. What new tyres should I get that will wear slower?????? Maybe new wheels too?
  8. Thanks everyone for their info on how they get screws! In the end I used boltmeup on ebay. Thanks RB.
  9. Hi Guys, Thought I'd post a pic of my Wild Dagger. I won it as a wreck on ebay months ago and have recently got around to sorting it out. The shell was a royal mess so I had to paint over it. Got some 100mm shocks to replace the original ones -they seemed to have about 3mm of travel!!- and have just bought 2 HPI GT 550 motors. Still got to get an ESC, receiver and a few other bits... Looking fwd to hitting the beach! Anyone else care to expose their dagger?
  10. Nice video! The clod seem to be the best climber there. Is yours stock there? Thanks!
  11. Thanks, I have passed this info on! The Dual Hunter has a face only a mother could love!
  12. Cheers guys! I guess this is in fact a normal phenomenon and I can cancel my appointment with my Dr Anyone care to post some new Clod Footage???? PS Biggus Ditchus -Is that a battleship?
  13. LOL! Yeah, no paint definitely puts a brake on things! Lots of colours in Halfords. I took along a colour swab with me so I could match it.
  14. I can't stop thinking about the Clod. Why???? It is slow, but I want one! This is completely irrational. Does anyone else have these attacks of "Clod lust" I think it will be my next buy.... ...just gotta sell something first...! I'm off to lie down, and think about the Clodbuster!
  15. Thanks Kingpin! The halfords plastic primer gives a nice smooth matt finish for the paint. "The bright red monster truck with gold wheels??.....That'll be the Daewoo!"
  16. Thanks guys. I am always short of a screw or two. I am looking fwd to having plenty of screws in the future. Sorry -couldn't help myself!
  17. Cheers guys, all good advice. Maybe I can source a Twin detonator body? Or are they like hens teeth too??!
  18. Been busy working on the resto today. I have to say that it is now looking quite lovely, new even! The decals arrived a couple of days ago and I hadn't got round to ordering the paint (TS8). As I am really impatient I went to Halfords and got the closest match I could find: Daewoo Super Red. A bit of a risk, but I am very happy with the result. The quality if the decals is very good, film is thicker than stock. The adhesive under the clear film is very transparent and shows less of a white outline around decals than my experience with stock decals. Still got to do the silver and black around the windows. I have now lacquered the body too. Pics to follow nxt time. Ps, anyone got a sunroof??? 28yok
  19. Hi all, My neighbour wants a Twin Det for his son for Christmas. Can't seem to find one online. Any ideas??? Cheers 28yok
  20. Mrs 28yok, has been out to the beach with the Pumpkin, and quite enjoys it! Unfortunately my Tamiya 'addiction' is not looked upon sympathetically. I have found that selling other things to bring money in helps take the edge off when she finds out that I have bought yet another car!!!!! :P
  21. Big Time! Although that could be down to my motor and batts!
