Great Idea Jon. I hadn't thought of rating for ease of building, but that is obviously a nice touch. I will def see if I can incorporate it. Not sure my wife would let me build one of each tho -even in the name of business research??! Maybe I could ask people who had already built the kit to leave their reviews on building/running? Thanks everyone for your inputs...keep it coming...! The review product feature has just been added!

Brilliant! I had to stop half way through for a toilet break, but I finished it! No seriously, great advice. Thanks.

Which Esc/motor To Create Fire Breathing Fire Dragon?
28yoKid replied to 28yoKid's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Ahhh! Thats what that plate means! Seriously though, I think I will need wider tyres first. -
Thanks for the advice, I agree with all the points you made... I have other sources of income, so this is a fun venture, if I can cover my costs or even make some profit I will be very pleased + the experience will be the main benefit for me. I will definitely give people the option to have different levels of postage. I don't want to make money off postage! Somehow this seems wrong. At the moment (after speaking to a few distributors) Tamiya will be the main focus. ....Ah point 6. I think I will take my chances! Imagine the cost of sending the boys round? $800 for a hammock...

Which Esc/motor To Create Fire Breathing Fire Dragon?

Only the standard pinion seems big enough to make contact with the spur. Just as well as it is already a flurry of wheelspin! -

Broke it again! Every run so far with the FD has ended prematurely with broken bits! Is this common with this kit type? Last 2 times the shocks came apart and I lost bits. I think I need to upgrade to some alu shocks maybe? -
I will look into it. New to me!

I totally understand that! I was in the same boat 2 months ago. Looking at parts I didn't know would fit or not! I have an idea for that one. I was thinking of having a number of hop-up kits for each model. Eg Lunchbox, Kit 1 = Bearings and ceramic grease, Kit 2 ST540 +m CVAs +KIT 1, Kit 3= Brushless + ESC +Kit 1...etc...This could also extend to wheel and tyre packages too. That way depending on the level of performance you want you just order the kit and everything is there and most importantly IT FITS!

Thanks again for all the feedback and well wishes! I expect the site will start off with Kits and then slowly take on new products like wheels, spares...etc... as I work it out..! I will ensure there is enough info per item..I really hate that too, a picture on its own is never enough info to buy on! I will pass all the feedback so far to my web dev to see if these features can be incorporated into the first build. Any other suggestions???????????

Thanks Guys, I will be looking at other brands as well as Tamiya. I have been advised that to stick with just Tamiya (as I had wanted) would be a bit if a dumb business move! Getting the site built this week. Not sure how long until operational, but will keep you posted. Thanks for the feedback and advice so far, I will take it all on board, keep it coming!

Hi all, as you may know, I got into Tamiya a few months ago after childhood memories made me buy my 1st Pumpkin. Since then I have really enjoyed Tamiya and RC and find myself devoting a lot of my free time to improving and running my trucks! I have often thought, "what if I could do this for a living?". SO I am going to make a stab at it and am in the process of starting my own online store! So what I would like to know from you all is: 1) Is there anything that you want that online hobby stores do not provide for you? 2) Is there anything that online stores do do, but it compromises your enjoyment/experience? 3) Is there anything I should consider that would make you come to my site? Thanks, 28 Yok

What Dremel-type Tool Do I Need?
28yoKid replied to 28yoKid's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
Hi Matt, I got a rotary tool from maplins for 25. It is 18v which isn't the basic one, but I would say go for something more powerful than 18v. -

Apparently chopping board (plastic) is the way to go. I just need to source one, cut the bracing shape, then bolt on to the chassis...apparently! On daggerweb, lots of home-made mods...not sure Delia would approve! -

Thanks Dazaa. Went for a cheap imitation, 18v tho. Anything less would have been too lame! As for how long it lasts, I will let you know Just got to find a way of reinforcing the chassis now...! -

Cheers Jonny, top advice. Will def look at that. And a 50% saving over the Dremel! -
Hi all, In line with my Wild Dagger resto, I am gonna be running 2 battery packs. I have been advised that I can cut another oval slot for the 2nd bat above the original bat space. To cut into the plastic chassis, I could use a saw, but am unlikely to be able to cut a proper oval shape! What type of tool could I use for best results? Someone mentioned a Dremel, but not up to date with those... Advice?

I never really considered changing tyres for different surfaces...seems obvious now! The FD is always oversteering, could be something to do with the brushless tho! Am getting used to the power now, lots of medium throttle. When it last went on grass, it was tearing the grass out!
