I run EZ run too. Using a 3900 or 4500 mha gives about 15-20mins run time.

A glass of red and inspiration strikes! Have been faffing with getting the spots attached. Originally I was using the holes from the original bar in the front suspension turret, but using these holes with screws at 90 degrees did not allow the shell to sit properly. In the end I drilled two small holes in the front bumper and knocked up a 'n' shaped bar out of odds and ends. I am really pleased with the result which looks good and is sturdy. The only gripe is that the are currently lower than the originals, but I can easily rectify this later if need be. Pics tomorrow as camera battery is charging. 28

Twin Det Hop Ups
28yoKid replied to Pavster's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
Hi Pavster, I too have a 14.4v Wild Dagger. I cut an extra hole above the battery compartment so the other battery fits on top of the other. This means the balance is the same so handling isn't odd. I have also upgraded the shocks to 110mm ones. -
Great 1st build, you should be really chuffed! Loving the green wheels too! Did you let the missus have a go...?!

Hi all, just thought I'd add some pics of the resto. Since last pics, new "glass", sunroof and rear boot handle. Still lots of bits to go such as wipers and spots, but I figure do a bit at a time... Would make a nice living room ornament I think! PS why is there a hole in the sunroof? Is it for cooling?

Hi all! Glad to see MB restos are in full flow! After some lean months I have restarted my resto project. Finally added a sunroof and rear boot handle (trunk in the US)! Am pleased to see the bug taking shape. Hopefully in time for a summer sunday run by the beach. Does anyone know what colour the number plate surrounds should be? Will post some new pigs when I get home this pm. 28 I meant pics **** blackberry!

Monster Beetle Rebuild
28yoKid replied to Jack_Truck's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
Nice work! What did you buff the paint with to make it have a shiny finish? -
I think the Dual Hunter has a face only its mother could love. But I am sure it is a hoot to drive. I have a dagger! Are you gonna buy one?

No mid-air photos????

Dear all, thanks for the supportive replies! I have a long list of 'projects' behind me that haven't come off, but I will always try another bright idea... I guess the timing is a bit wrong for me as we have our 1st baby coming in June, so although we could have raised the extra investment, it is more a time for saving! In the meantime I am going for a better job to get the pennies in, and once the baby dust has settled I may try something else. 28

Hi All, I would like to update on my store. Unfortunately I have to report that I have not been successful in getting it off the ground. My main reasons for failure were: 1) Undercapitalisation ie. not enough to commit to fast delivery times and competitive pricing (via buying in volume). Although I carried a small inventory, I did not have enough cars or volume to be competitive. I think this nut can be cracked, but you would need 000's of stock to commit and a very long term view. 2) Lack of fwd planning, I am ashamed to say that I did not plan this business very carefully. I assumed that if I buy at a wholesale price and sell at a retail price, I can make a margin. This is not necessarily the case. The market is so price competitive that any retailers need to be selling in volume to make money. The experience has been fun though! I have learned search engine optimization, (type 'radio controlled tamiya' into yahoo, Ranking No 1!, 18th in google), and have got my RC bits at cost for a while too If I had more , I think I could have succeeded, however, with the long timescales for seeing a return on my investment, I have chosen to close. I still love Tamiya and am enjoying running and building them too. I also have no regrets as it has been a really interesting and fun experience. Just got to try and hide the remaining stock from the wife! As a side point, the website is for sale + 1 month support from developer included, it can be used to sell anything of course, pm me if interested. Cheers 28YOK

what do you prefer-Lunchbox or Pumpkin?
28yoKid replied to Shodog's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
Both have their own character! I think the Lunchbox looks better going over obstacles, but the MP looks better whizzing around...?! -
Wild Dagger Diff Lock Problem....
28yoKid replied to 28yoKid's topic in Monster Trucks, 4x4, Wheelie Rigs and Crawlers
OK, I fitted the new shaft drive things. So both diffs are locked! I ran it on carpet and one of the dog bones snapped! Must have been the combo of superglued tyres and 14.4v twin motors Ordered some new reinforced ones off the bay, and am looking fwd to checking out it's new off road powers! -
Hi guys, sorry to have missed the last bash. Had no runners and a christening! Not to worry, have finally got my wild dagger moving again, only to have the dogbones break! Should have it moving for the next one tho. When is it? All the best 28 yok

Hi all, MadAx kindly wrote me an article 'Beginners Guide to RC'. I have put it on the site under Useful RC Links. Are there any other articles you would like to see? Or do you think you would like to write one? If so, successful applicants will be rewarded by a Tamiya model of their choice at cost. Also I have added a bashing site section where people can share locations of good bashing sites that they know. If you are happy to share please check add a location: http://www.rcmonster.co.uk/rc-bashing-sites-page-8 Have a great weekend 28yok!
