  1. Looks like fun! Can you give me info on the wheels you're running?

Hi there. Yep the wheels and tyres are from a Dark Impact. I was running brushless for a while and the old wheels kept cracking under the power. These ones are tougher, have foam inserts in the tyres and have a grippier compound. I did need to get some hex-type adaptors to get the wheels to fit though as the original FD adaptors are not compatible.

  2. Hi all,

Its been a while. I hope you are all in fine form :( I have been busy with working a new job and having a kid too; 8MontholdKid. I got a bit dissolutioned with all my Tamiya models breaking on me -all my fault- might I add! As I wanted more speed, more power and bigger and bigger jumps LOL! So I bought an eRevo to take all the punishment I wanted to dish out. However, although massively capable, the revo is characterless and has no charisma. I have really missed building Tamiya kits, and my restored Monster Beetle -which I sold on ebay to get the revo.

I see the Sand Scorcher has been re-released and I have asked 28yoWife if I could have one...seems to have the green light :D

As a relatively new guy to Tamiya, I don't remember this one from the 1st time around. My first question is whether this kit is good value for money? It seems a little pricey, although the metal parts must add some robustness to the package. I am planning to use it on grass only, in summer with a sport tuned motor...no punishing this time!

I see the Rough rider comes in at a similar price. Any major differences except looks?

Also. Does anyone think that the Monster Beetle will ever be re-released? -Go on, humour me!

    Cheers

  3. I'm gutted I missed it. I will interesting to compare the full size erevo vs the 1/16th version. Great pic's and driving.

Is that erevo the stock brushed version?

Hi arh21! Where was your slash when we needed it??! Yeah the pics were of the stock brushed 1/8th scale model. 1/16 looks cool tho. :(

    Next time.

  4. Awesome pics - they really came out well!

Been doing some looking around on You Tube for videos of the E-Revo. That and the drive I had this morning, three words are making themselves known in my cerebellum:

    "I. WANT. ONE"

    :(

Ha ha, the dark side is calling. I will say tho that it doesnt have any of the charm or charisma you get from a Tamiya model, but a great model to get reckless with. Ebay usually has some 2nd hand ones for some money off list. :D

  5. Steel Rat, great to meet you and your muscle cars! Nice driving on the Revo too. Had a good time and esp enjoyed landing some flukey jumps with the Fire Dragon...and it didn't even break anything...! Your 'Bull Fighter' was good fun and mighty fast too, good old 2WD reminds me of my pumpkin days...

eRevo was a blast as usual, just need to get another set of 8.4v batts for longer running. Looking fwd to the next meet. Glad you solved your electrical gremlins.
