  1. Hi Matisse,

Thanks for the info! I have an account with Ansmann so I will see what their new 09 list reveals.

I would also like to say that the store is now open for business! I want to say thanks to everyone for their input and support in helping me get it running.

I will be looking to add more products over time based on the success of the store.

I hope I can serve you!

  2. I have a Wild Dagger, which is the same as the Dual Hunter; apart from the shell. I am running 2x 14.4v GT550 HPI motors and 2x 7.2v battery packs. It was a little work, in that I had to dremel another battery slot above the 1st one. Other than that, the motors just screw in to replace the standard ones, and I bought the HPI dual motor ESC. Motors were 7 each and the ESC was 60. Speed wise it is just a bit slower than my brushless FD! Have just locked both diffs. Am looking fwd to getting it off road!

  3. The Grasshopper doesn't state if it comes with an ESC. I haven't checked all models. If you offer it with an ESC (which I imagine you do, as you source from the UK disty) then it would be a good idea to offer a discount (say 10) for supply without an ESC.

Also, when someone buys with an ESC and radio gear, they only need one servo.

Whatever words of encouragement people may give, however sincere they may seem, remember one thing : they want it cheap.

Each item you can sell separately as spares later on with a margin too.

    All the best, P.

Thanks Loaded, I will look into it.

  4. I am getting closer to being ready to open soon, and wondered if anyone wanted to write a review on a tamiya model on my site?

We have a reviews section with the idea of supplying 'customer to customer' info about each model, although I have a few models, I would rather customers could read reviews and experiences from others rather than just me!

If anyone is interested my site is www.rcmonster.co.uk to write a review go to the model (you will have to register 1st) you want to write about and you will see a 'write a review on this product' in the top right corner under a keyboard icon. There is a word limit of around 180 words. If you submit a review it will not appear straight away. Obviously it gets 'filtered' 1st, but I won't go changing what you write about your experiences.

I have already written a review on my pumpkin (1st love!) and found it a fun experience. So anymore pumpkin or other tamiya reviewers out there????? :)

Would love to know your experiences!

    Thanks

ps got my 1st lot of stock, really exciting, I have to keep telling myself that it is just 'Stock' or 'Units' not fun...! B)

  5. Thanks Loaded and Terry. Spoke with Hob Co and they said that they do supply acoms. However, for acoms servos other retailers are probably sourcing somewhere else to be able to sell at the prices they do! So am still on the search for a competitive servo supplier.

Have been busy with the search engine optimisation. A bit of a black art! Am half way through the 1st book (of 2) and am managing to get some encouraging results so far. :P

Should be receiving my 1st stock order this week.

Hope everyone had a good christmas. Can't believe 2009 is here already...!

  6. Hi all,

as you may be aware, I am in the process of launching my own hobby store. I have hit a bit of a cashflow crisis and am building the funds to get the site SEO'd which is going to hold up the launch date a bit.

I thought that maybe someone on the forum can do this for me in exchange for cheap Tamiya kits/bits -I obviously get my Tamiya at trade price

If anyone is interested in this pm me and maybe we can come to some sort of agreement.

    Happy Christmas,

    28 Yok

  7. Hi all,

As part of my Wild dagger resto I have decided to lock the diffs to make it an off road monster! I bought two diff lock posi things off ebay which you put into the diff gear to replace the 3 small metal cogs and the 2 larger outer ones.

The part fits fine, but my problem is that the hole is a different shape to the cups which should slot in!

More oblong than round. Can anyone suggest some new drive cups that will fit????

    Thanks

  8. Tested the FD with its new wheels and tyres! What an improvement! 1st off, the DI wheels are black so look like the originals at a glance, also they are slightly larger in diameter so better ground clearance. The tyres have sponges so are a bit firmer, and the tread is flatter in profile but softer. So much more grip. On tarmac the FD squats at the back under acceleration and sticks, sometimes leaning a wheel in the air. On loose surfaces there is much more forward motion and less wheelspin; I have also noticed that they kick up less dirt compared with the originals.

Got through 4 battery packs before the ESC over heated. What fantastic fun! ;)

    Oh, and nothing broke!
