Please help indentifying this Manta Ray chassis
Funracer posted a topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
I found this hopped up Manta Ray about 2 years ago on Ebay. It came with a rotten Top Force body shell and a carton full of spares. I put it on the shelf in order to restore it some day. Recently I took a closer look at it and found that the chassis plates that I expected to be FRP are actually made of aluminum. They don't seem to be self made. Does anybody out there have any idea who the manufacturer of this chassis was? -
Hello fellow vintage Kyosho enthusiasts, I would like to get myself a T-shirt printed with a vintage ad featuring Joel Johnson. I found several ones on the internet with Joel and his world championship winning Ultima, Joel with Sanyo Nicads or Joel with Trinity motors (you know: "A pretty, puny, sissy, wimpy little motor didn't win Johnson the world champs" ), but all of them are rather small, in low resolution or are treated with a water mark. Does anybody out there have a scan of one of those ads in a high resolution that he/she could send me? Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks, Norbert

BMW M3 - Realistic Cockpit - Display Chassis - REBORN

I'm looking forward to see it finished. In my oppinion the E30 M3 is the epitome of a touring car. -
Hi, does anyone know when they will finally release the Vectra? I can hardly wait to get the body-shell.

Hi, I'm searching for touring car rims with huge offset in oder to fit a 200mm bodyshell to a TB-03. The only rims I could find are 26mm drifter rims by HPI, Yokomo etc. The problem is that there are only few capable 26mm tires around so I would prefer 24mm rims. Tamiya just offers 2mm offset ones, doesn anybody know if there are other makes offering wide rims? Cheers, Norbert

Hi taliesin, Thanks for your reply. I'm not racing on the track for now but might do it in the near future. Asking other guys on the track won't give any result because nobody is running 26mm tires anymore, 24mm is a must for serious racers in my region. I would like to run 26mm rims on my TB-03 with a 200mm body shell because they are easy to obtain with huge offset.24mm rims won't do the trick, it's all about the looks, but performance is also important since I don't want to be an obstacle on the track. I'm well aware that most likely no 26mm tire will be able to keep up with current 24mm tires. The LHS doesn't carry 26mm tires anymore so I will have to order them on the internet. The price isn't very important since actually no 26mm tire is that expensive. Anyway I would like to avoid buying 10 sets of tires just to find out that they are actually rubbish. I thought about Tamiya Type A or B reinforced slicks, are they any good?

I'm searching for 26mm touring car rubber tires to use on an outdoor track. They are still plenty around but I don't know which will perform really well. Any suggestions? Cheers, Norbert

Hi Michael, No need to search on Ebay, you can buy them directly from Kyosho (at least in Germany, don't know about Denmark) I don't think there are repros around Cheers Norbert

Hi Michael, Try Kyosho's PG-22 tyres for the rear. It seems like they are the original ones and still available from Kyosho. Cheers Norbert

Who collects decals/off-cuts/leftovers?
Funracer replied to BeetleLover's topic in Vintage Tamiya Discussion
I leave them uncut and just pile them up in a carton. This keeps them nice and flat and also protects them from light -
Awesome! Been after this BMW body shell for such a long time. I hope it will be availabe as an unpainted spare part.

Hi Everyone, My Ultima which I won on Ebay finally arrived. I guess it's a Ultima 2, perhaps you experts can correct me if I'm wrong. It's brand new but unfortunately not complete. (That's why I asked for the similarities of Ultima and Outrage previously) Now it's time to search for spares but since I don't have the manual I don't know which part numbers are actually missing. Does someone know if the manual can be found somewhere on the web or can sent me a scan? Anyway, the following items are obviously missing: Rear axles Dogbones Wheel hexes Body mounts Wing mounts Battery mounts Bumper Gear cover Did I forget something? If someone knows any of the mentioned part's order numbers please let me know. Any help is highly appreciated in order to reanimate this baby. Thanks in advance. Norbert

Can you tell which other Outrage parts fit to Ultimas? Is the suspension and gearbox basically the same? Unfortunately I cannot find a manual on the web in order to check by myself :-(

Hello my friends, Does it make sense to buy a NIB Outrage for spares for an Ultima II? I'm particular in need of rear achsles and the gear cover. Cheers Norbert
