  1. my LHS antics had at least 5 brats on the shelf last time i was there but now it says there is only one in Plymouth. i do not believe that for a second as there were so many in the Worcester antics. if you want one give them a ring on this number 01905 22075 sure they will sort you out with one.
  2. shell fully painted. i must admit that at the moment i do not like it that much. i think the stickers will make it a lot better.
  3. Give that man a cookie, well done. we seem to be getting good at this! Your go sgt.barnes, what you got for us?
  4. Ok then now i can have a go. (sorry about that) changed my image as the first was a bit too easy. (BMW 530d m sport touring, but i would off accepted M5 as the exhausts are the same) here is my entry. any guesses?
  5. So you are "nearly married" but you get a bigger kick from tamiya than you do from girls?
  6. The way I see it is that if you get a bigger kick from tamiya than you do from girls, you are a nerd. I therefor am not even close to being a nerd
  7. Well the bottom is done. Henry likes it, but he still says i should of gone for red! Due to my bad masking skills some paint is not where it is supposed to be, nothing a little thinner on a cotton bud will not sort.
  8. got some good masking tape but it is so hard to put on! i give up
  9. will go to halfords and have a look for some good tape in a bit then. if i was in charge of tamiya all shells would come pre masked.
  10. is that this one mate? http://www.modelsport.co.uk/?CallFunction=...w=BiggerPicture
  11. Masking this thing is a pain in the ***. i spent almost an hour doing it this morning only to find the tape was not sticky enough. so it all had to come off. Has anyone else noticed that the worst thing you can use to mask something is masking tape? it does not flex it folds, and paint seeps under it. can i use electrical tape?
  12. i would, that would be tearing up the beech in no time if it were mine!
  13. Thanks HBM. i was going to email ansmann but it just said "windows cannot perform task as the default mail client is not set up correctly" or so something like that. Looks like i will be ordering one of those today!
  14. My mates would call me a geek if they knew how much i was into it. i have one mate who is fine with it as he flys rc planes and heli's. we might have a race like top gear, his plane vs my frog (see rather unpopular built thread http://www.tamiyaclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=47480 ) I hide my neatly arranged tools if someone Else comes around though. To be honest i do not see what my mates who are not into rc do all day. i think they just play on the xbox, ps3 or wii and watch TV all day. Surely if you are out having fun with your RC and they are sat in front of the TV all day then they are the geeks?
  15. I got some pic 'n' mix in the cup form. its hard not to eat them though! My dad has a Woolworth's car wash set that he was given for Xmas by someone. but he says its not going anywhere near his new BMW so i will keep it and sell it on ebay!
  16. I did not know there was such a thing as a efficient belt drive!
  17. Hello everyone. After getting some Christmas money I am in the market for a very good charger. This ansmann xbase deluxe has been highly recommended by a few people on the tamiya club. But as you can see in this picture on fusion hobbies it has a 2 pin type wall plug. I have seen it with the same plug on lots of other websites as well. My question is will it come with a UK 3 pin wall plug, or will i have to swap them over? also can anyone recommend any other good chargers? Thanks in advance for any help.
  18. thanks. i have just found out that with some resealable zip ties i can Mount my camera to the bumper really well. so i will maybe put up a video for the drivers perspective. i hope the temp picks up before i have to go back to school so i can get this shell painted!
  19. Decent solder is the solder that has lead in it. there is no good lead free solder in the world. (at all) you can still get it from some places, a mate gets all my lead solder free from work as he works for an electronics company. Lead free solder is useless.
  20. The rear wheels would just not go into the tyres. but luckily my 24 year old cousin was coming over from London and he built an original frog at my age, so i asked him and he did it instantly! The shell has been cut out but it is too cold to paint at the mo
  21. If it says its maximum the charger can charge is 1400mah battery then yes, charging a higher one will damage your charger and maybe your battery as well.
  22. Well its done except for the shell. took it out for a quick spin and it flies! as for the radio..... well nothing else would of done would it?
  23. No it will not be box art, i am having a light blue strip along the bottom. ( it saves a lot of explaining about why my racing buggy has pink on it! ) any way here are some updates pringles anyone? no rear wheels yet as they will not fit into the tires, anyone know how to fit them?
