  1. Very nice resto - well done! It would look even better with the tire lettering done
  2. Definitely leave it as is - part of the original history of that car and a period solution for that known problem!
  3. It was a common part to replace back in the day - I remember in the early 80's my Scorcher had white rod ends as that's all the LHS had in stock at the time when I needed to replace them. For some reason I remember a lot of R/C planes that had white rod ends, not sure why. So there were always loads of those in the shops.
  4. Awesome! And grey bumpers back too - even better
  5. It's not economically viable so just diverts resources away from where the company makes money. I can definitely see a time when companies will licence you to make your own via Shapeways etc though. No-brainer, just not sure that market is quite ready yet.
  6. Shameless bump...
  7. Preferably new, but will consider used if in really good condition. Thanks!
  8. Thank Mark, but no that's not the one - I particularly want the AP35.
  9. It's the oldies with 3 blue relays. Needed to complete a nostalgia project
  10. Absolutely stunning !
  11. Nice startup! If you want to sell the Scorcher licence plates I'm after a set
  12. Any condition.... thanks
  13. Really? That's unusual. Re-re gearbox ?
  14. -1 It will not fit. You will need to adapt the gearcase to fit a modern motor in a vintage SRB. http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=63500
  15. Due to the recent plating experiment I need to replace a set of arms and uprights for a vintage SRB if anyone has a set.... ? Thanks!
  16. It's not correct - the Sport Tuned will not fit a vintage SRB without modifying the gearcase unfortunately. I think I can probably fix that problem, if I can find a motor that can fit. I guess I'm back to sourcing a vintage motor of the right dimensions. Anyone know of any? Thanks!
  17. <bump> Anyone know ? Thanks
  18. Thanks OTC. The copper plating first is an interesting idea. I might give that a try next time. Ultimately I'd like to do a plated vintage Scorcher in precious metal (white gold or Rhodium), so this is a test and learn phase for me which can go wrong at low cost
  19. Hi guys, Without modding the gearcase, are there any new motors out there that will fit a vintage SRB ? Something lightly tuned, like a Sport Tuned equivalent. Also, anything new out there slightly smaller diameter than normal and that will fit ? I'm trying to find something that I can use with the Rogue Element motor cover part (the dead short between tabs is another problem I'll have to solve, but that's for another day!). Thanks!
  20. Anyone have any that they'd like to sell on? Looking for the original/vintage ones.... Thanks!
  21. Gearbox and rear suspension pot-metal was high in Alu with a trace of zinc which was removed with an acid bath before plating:- Problem was the front arms and uprights were a totally different metal, but ended up in the same acid bath and melted:- Lesson learned : use a spectrometer on each part individually before attempting this That said, results are awesome where it's worked. The gear case and other successfully plated parts look amazing - photos don't do justice..... This was for all vintage parts - no idea what the re-re pot metal is like ?
  22. No need to feel embarrassed at all Chris - especially considering you don't get paid to keep TamiyaClub online. Stuff happens. I think you did us all proud in the way that you handled it.
  23. After new, old, single or in pairs. Will consider anything - let me know what you have! PayPal cash waiting. Thanks.
