  1. Thanks for the tips! I guess I should have mentioned, the Dark Impact has got a few upgrades, including a slipper clutch, carbon front suspension brace, and aluminum rear suspension brace, so I think it should be good for a hotter motor. One thing I've noticed is that the front wheels seem quite loose though as far play in the steering and where the upright attaches to the hub. Is this normal or should I replace the cheap plastic C bracket with something more sturdy? I know there is a hop-up for that part, but is it worth it? The servo saver is also garbage and needs to be replaced so I'll do that soon. I'll have to get some dry lube, as I've never used that before.
  2. Hi, been lurking a while, so first post here... I'm getting back into the hobby after being away from it for a good 20 years or so. I've never had anything more advanced than a hornet/lunchbox. So I picked up a super hornet a few months ago and started bashing that for a while, but then I decided to get something a little more "modern", so I picked up a DF03 Dark Impact off ebay, pretty cheaply, and transferred most everything over to that. It's more or less stock, with a silver can motor and a TEU101BK ESC. I've been toying with it a bit, but yesterday I ran it through some serious muck in a ball park and now comes the question of what do you need to do for maintenance on these buggies? Do you guys have a regular routine where you pull things apart and oil/grease them every so often? If so, what parts need attention? I've never had a car with dogbones (or even 4wd) so I don't even know what grease/oil to use on those or if they need anything at all? On another note, this buggy seems like it would really like a hotter motor, so I'll probably pick up a used Novak GTX ESC and 19T motor - would this be a decent combo for this buggy or should I just save my pennies and go brushless - EZRUN 60A perhaps.
