Today .. i waited for a buyer.. 2 tanks ( Gepard and Leopard ) where suppose to change hands today. ( allows me to fund the repairs of the others who stay ) Well, this was actually the 2e time.. as last week , a guy was also suppose to show up to pick them up. Today.. again a no show.. what is it with people, making a appointment, and not showing up.. at least the first one cancelled a few hours before.. The other one just.. well.. - nothing - Maybe i just expect a bit to much of "collectors with the same hobby" .. i do not know ...

True, sad story is, once up a time , i actually was repairing crt monitors for my work ! And was even considered by others, good at it. ( real long story.. boring.. but.. basically, without any electronic education .. i was , in a large company, litterly, solder-repairing and repairing monitors ) In those times you just "rolled into it" and well.. somebody figured that .. ( his words ) , i had a sense for the job so .. i got it ( weard .. but ... ) Its not hard once you get your head around it and understand what the parts do , and .. should do.. and if not, fix it. Once smd really hit the market.. i litterly could just not keep up ( and.. company closing down anyway so... ) i went back to being a cook . ( no.. no joke ) But, my luck is that the MFU board in my case, is a single layer ( 2 sided however, but minimal parts. ) , and my guess ( slightly educated ) , is that a proper tech can diagnose and fix the issue . But, today did manage to find a company that want to have a go at it. Worth the 30 euro's to try it.

Repairing stuff gets "unusual " as it usually cheaper to replace the whole thing. Funny fact out of the last few days , i got this 56020 with a mfu what got waterboarded by the wife.. ( don't ask ) Now, its a SMD board , so out of my range of repairs and diagnose ( im old school ;p ) , It is above my abilities to do it myself. So, i was looking for a company ( they use to have those tv / audio repair shops ) to take a peek at it. ( i have a idea its a easy fix , and suspect what the issue is ) I spend a long time, just finding -a shop- who still repairs at component level . These days, they replace the board or the screen.. or scrap it straight away . Shame.. i would happy pay 100,- euro to repair a board costing new 260,- euro. So much stuff you can just repair easy .. what does not need replacement ( and , new off the factory ) But then, im from the generation who repairs stuff / fixes / builds stuff when they need to.. Seems these days its the norm to replace entire units. ** feeling old ** ... and not even 40 yet ..

I used for most old blackfoot style tires for stands , with added benefit, due the "fly" i could put longer cars on a more narrow shelf ( make the front wheels hover over the edge ) Kind of looked "in style" also , using rc tires as stands

Mad Ax actually has a good point ( thats, how i read it anyway ) I would love to have solar panels on my roof ( to reduce electricity cost ) , bonus.. better for the flowers and animals. .. but i can't afford them.. I would love to drive a tesla , or a cheaper electric car. no more gas to pay, and the government pays my road tax.. and cheap insurance ( also government pays a bit for that ) Not to mention ,they pay a large chunk of the actual buy price of it ! Hey, i could even charge them with my wished for solar panels ! .. but i can't afford it... I would love to buy free-range meat , it taste's better anyway .. but i can't afford it.. Same as the bio foods.. yep, it actually taste better.. however .. .. i can't afford it .. ect.. What they did do around here, is increase the house-hold-gas price, ( for that co2 story ) , as a tax .. Also they increased the tax on electricity .. to .. motivate people to put solar panels up... What prevents me from saving any money for.. say.. solar panels.. as i got to pay up the extra tax .. ( can only spend it 1x .. right ? ) And sad joke is, im considered having a medium income.. nearly 2x as the minimal wage. Imagine the real low income people trying to do it..

Yep, i noticed, a tad bit over hobby budget atm ( mostly also as the dude who today should pick up some stuff with me, was a no-show ) ... * shakes fist * Baghdad Basher got waterboarded .. how.. ironical ;p * added, ordered a small esc for -cheap- .. ( 8 euro or something ).. See if i can "fix" it with that.. * just got to remember to shut down the bec, else im going to have another intrestring day ;p * On the other hand.. 6v and 6v is still.. 6v ..

Follow up.. Considering .. well, guess so.. the part of the mfu is -dead - .. i still have the sound effect and a working motor. The motor works like .. a regular rc car motor ( its just .. really tiny ;p ) If i could find.. a real small car esc , i COULD just attempt to wire it in between ( oh badword , space is already so limited ) , and have a esc control the turret motor... ( and got to live with the fact that the recoil just won't work anymore )

Tested.. good news.. motors work ( 7.2V ) Bad news. think i found something .. and im now official over my head with it My best guess is, water came in ( thanks wife.. ) , and fried the part of the board.. What, could be possible, as thats the part the cable's come out for the .. yes, turret rotation and recoil motor. As its SMD .. im way in over my head , im old school ( can fix the bigger stuff )

Any idea what voltage there rated ? 5v ? ( i learned ;p ) Added.. im slightly afraid for the mfu unit, as i can't get any voltage reading on the plug going to the motors ( like.. none .. )

In truth, would love it.. Im the only -person- into rc into a very large radius.. kind of .. always -play- alone .. Would love to bash with a few. ( there is a club a good drive away, however they "don't want me" so.. yeah.. ) ( having the wrong brand of car and tx sets or some bla bla bla )

IT LIVES.. ok.. partial .. So far, cleaned, did some battle damage repairs , and installed a fresh battery ( the old one was really.. unrecoverable ) So far so good.. that thing is noisy ! forgot about that ;p * rrooaaarrr * But.. now i ran into a dual-issue ( who, i think are related ) Even after recalibration , the turret rotation motor, and the recoil motor won't work. ( i do get the sound effect, so the "control" should work good ) So far cleaned the inside of the tank out, checked the connectors.. still no-show Any suggestion where to look ? Before it went into hibernation it was working fine.

I put it different , if the partner wants you to quit with your intrest / hobby .. I would say, that is not the correct partner for me.

depends where you go for, old-style it would look fine . ( old king hauler .. old merc .. that stuff ) ( low group.. 4 gears.. ) mid group 4.. high group 4 .. that would look fine on a old rig. ( and accurate ) modern trucks , you won't see or even notice the shift . they shift just as fast / flawless as a normal automatic car gearbox. If you see them shift, the driver is screwing around in manual or the gearbox is about to break down.

Well, when my now wife came to my house the first time.. she was .. shocked ( ok, i kind of lived in a rc toy store with a bed in it ) lets face it.. it was.. to much. But.. before that , well.. kind of already realized i got a bit overboard with hoarding tasty seksy rc models .. mostly.. Tamiya's So when it started to get real, i stored and sold a lot.. mostly as some other non related issue's popped up.. and i had to basically .. hibernate any form of hobby and focus on keeping a roof above our head and keeping food on the table. Got to make choices somewhere . But , now .. returning.. and no, wife don't care .. "silly toys" .. so be it , can't say i have to much intrest in her hobby ( watching tv shows ) .. so .. fair enough But yeah, she already is very aware im into toys anyway, she just accepts it.. - not to much choice ;p ;p - She knows im a big kid.. ( motorbikes.. rc toys .. gaming ) .. But then again, and yes.. i do use that.. " you prefer me getting smashed in a bar then? The thing is with those windmills ( im true Don Quichot on those ) Its a NIMBY .. they erected a few of those huge eye sore's very close to my house, and the sound and light annoyance is huge. * wap ... flash ... wap .. flash. wap .flash. wap ... flash * .. that.. in the day.. in the silent night ( rural area ) .. its just wap...wap..wap..wap... And they enjoy slaying birds real happy ( can show some nasty pics of some rare birds laying quite... dead under them ).. So, my point is always .. of course, you can have your wind energy .. but you are going to put it in your own backyard if the guy next door find it a good plan also. I prefer solar panels.. while i do know they have a habit of setting the house on fire there fixed on, ( 3 in the last year in this area ) , so , please do so, just not to close to my roof ( these thing burn hard by the way ) Once i get them, im going to put them on the garage roof.. i just hope the windmill won't give to much shadow on it..

One of those models that really do not need a hot motor Try it first with the silver can . or maybe a sport tuned.. Proceed from there if it lives ;p And yes, really , really flat surface is a must.

Well, if you translate the page , it simulates a gearbox. ( so what it will do , probably , is "hold" a sec.. then go faster again.. ) like you up / downshift a old truck ( new one's got gearboxes just as fast as a regular car ;p ) So, *technical* speaking, it should then show 12 gears ( but only 3 are geared )

I don't see a issue, i recently punished ( driving skills .. not so good ) some models who where sitting on a shelf / in a box for over 10 years.. Slapped some gas in it, some small fixes.. and off they go .. And those where already older models before they went into the box ! NIB they are far better protected

Hope so ,as it does sound real good ( quality wise ) , not like a tin-can , if that sound loop can be fixed.. it has potential

I do not watch tv anymore , serieus .. really... ( bit did not like soaps anyway ;p waist of time... annnnyyyway ) I already know how -bad- people are , if its really vital im quite certain i hear the explosion or sirens go off. Or it gets mentioned somewhere where i am. ( hiding ? maybe.. but .. for me it works ! ) The issue with the degradable plastics , it has a flaw.. like Soya for animal food and meat replacements.. They cut down forrest to grow it, and it sucks down tons of fresh water. .. ( still less then life stock btw ! ) - says the meat eater .. - Farmed fish , also a issue.. the food they get are waist products .. usually , yes.. polluted.. guess who then eats the Pollution. ( if you want to stop eating fish.. and looking for a excuse.. check how they breed salmon or panga ) - personally, while my soul is rotten.. i eat everything with legs or that swims.. but i do not even eat salmon from a farm ... and that does say something - Look ,there no -fixed- ways to deal with stuff.. say we go drive all electric cars... next week. We still got to build and charge those battery's ! ( and.. re-use them later on ) Personally, i just drive a old car.. its already build, and the parts i need to keep it going, is far less of a footprint then ordering a new one off -tesla- ( not to mention, once its really done.. in the end its just a pile of alloys and metal.. and some plastics .. ) .. If you got to scrap a tesla, your stuck with a huge *** battery , for where at current technical state.. are no real good ways to get rid of them . We are just with to many ... and we are breeding our self into extinction . taking with us the entire planet . ( dark ? ... well.. yeah.. but.. its true .. ) The good news however is.. we, our kids, and there kids , maybe even there kids going to be ok.. im slightly worried for after that.. ( unless we get a sweet seksy asteroid on our heads first , or some bbq-sun flame )

If you want to have a easy effect on *your* footprint ( serieus, forget about the odd kits.. you would do this for "token" ) When you go to the supermarket, try to buy without packing ( fruit, veggie's ) .. Or, buy glass packed ( jars ) Or even better, just buy it straight from a farmer ( better price for him , and reduce the transport by huge chunks ) Just go on a bike, not on your straight 6 German car ;p * like the hipsters do in our area * .. travel 200km , to the rural area, to buy a bag of apples and claim "im good for nature". Big compagnie's ( like ahold ) are also aware of this, and actually doing quite some effort to reduce the packing waist. Mostly just to reduce cost, as packing takes up quite a chunk of profits.. but.. thats another story ;p And please o please. this is like real serieus.. ( speaking reducing footprint ) Do not dump your used up battery's in the bin .. really, do turn those in.. as soon they hit the regular waist lines there *toxic like badword* Rather trow a can of used car oil in the bin , then a few AA's . ( the oil gets hot enough to burn neutral, at burn, the battery's release there -heavy- metals )

But look on the bright side.. A nice good volcano eruption still dumps more co2 / methane and fine dust into the atmosphere even us humans can do in ( i think it was 1 or 2 years ?? ) Yes, our climate is changing.. ( im nearing the 40, and remember how the weather was.. and how it is now ) .. YET .. climate always changing, it is a cyclus . We had a cold period.. with a bit of luck ( ) we get a warmer cycle now. People going to hate me for this.. But.. yes, i think humans like me and.. you are in basic aids for this planet.. The correct medication would be some nice sweet virus , couple of disasters to cull the herde by a huge chunk. Look on the bright side, one king size solar flare of our sun and most of our gear is toast.. It's going to be -smelly- for a while, but it would clean up the planet really nice. ( yes, this sounds dark ) But .. we are with to many, our tech makes us so healthy and extend our lives so long, that the population growth is.. well.. to much for our planet to handle.

Ah no problem , its actually sometimes good i think to hear from "a other side" ( and not what the adds and sweet speakers tell you ) Not to mention, some of this stuff.. said at my work sites.. i would probably get canned real fast. ( all have a intrest in keeping it a bit in the dark / shady parts of .... life ) But ... serieus .. forget the "envoiremental print" our hobby makes.. its -nil- You want to do something ? - Do not have children - Do not eat meat - Do not use product what contains ammonia - Do not use fertilizers ( chemical one's , cow **** is fine ) - Do not use products that need aluminium , copper or ... well.. any metal at all. - Do not fly in airplanes , or use anything that is moved by a container ship Now... Then do that with a entire continent . ... then your "doing something".. While i sound sour now... what "we speak about now" is 0.00000001% work.. of course , i am also a bit colored, as due my work.. i see what goes wrong

Correct ( partial ) , they still accept it, however it must be -clean- and, not by the old ways.. have other products mixed inside. In short, they stop accepting the polluted plastics , metals, big bags ect . And most collection points are not suitable to clean it before bailing / packing / selling it. And, manual ( and machine ) sorting is possible, however hilarious expensive due work hours and the rare equipment required for this task. If you would invent / build a machine, that perfectly segregates plastics ( basically, anything non-magnetic ..) You could be a very very wealthy person in a very short time. ( sensor / camera systems already work, but there to slow and inaccurate , most segregation at this time is still a manual job.. long conveyer belts with people doing it by the eye. ) A job done in most European country's by people out of low wage country's , as "native" people simply refuse to do this work, even when unemployed. But.. this swinging very far from the topic now ;p

While i was reading this... i remembered something out of another topic. Should show to the trained eye how its done i think ( what technic they use to ... draw them ? )
