  1. I hope there is a rere Juggernaut coming down the line as well.
  2. Thanks! i am really stoked about the Bruiser. I have been into RC for almost 20 years and have never actually seen a bruiser in the flesh I really liked the Hilift Hilux and regret selling mine. I hope its true to the original and not some wacky re-hash based on the DT-02
  3. DO you think they (Tamiya) will correct the width of the axles? Corrrect me if i'm wrong but doesn't the OG Bruiser, Mountaneer, blazer, etc, differ in axle widths between the front and rear?
  4. YEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Bruiser is finally being released! NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! It will be so expensive I doubt I will be abble to afford it any time soon My guess s $499.99 or more.
  5. I think this is completely awesome. RC4WD Mojave $399.99 is a little steep, but I am getting one! I love how they left the tailgail free of the embossed 'TOYOTA" badge just like the actual special edition Hilux Mojave they sold in the US. I really like RC4WD scale parts and beadlock wheels. I have used them on a lot of my builds.
  6. Here's mine...that I hace now sold I have had a few of the CC01, they are a lot of fun. I think I had more fun building them than driving Mine would high-center very easily and I would get intereference form the LED module somtimes.
  7. I think tonight, while i'm work on the Scorcher, i'll dig up some old Ian Brown, Mr. Scruff, Kero 1, DJ Food, or Clutchy Hopkins.
  8. Oh man, I havn't listen to Ultravox in ages! WHen I hear the song Vienna it reminds my of building a Tamiya 1/24 Supra model kit. Probably because I listen to that song over and over while I was building it.
  9. Yeah, it's an unfortunate nick-name, but since my last name starts with G it fits I guess. I have been called that for as long as I can remember. It never fails, I introduce myself and people will say: "Like Kenny G, the guy who plays the sax?". Then they raise their hands to their mouth and they make the "playing the sax gestgure", followed by: "Can you play us a song?". In the past I somtimes had to fight the urge to punch them in the weinner.
  10. Okay, i'll admit that this is a time wasting topic, but I wonder what everyone listens to while they enjoy building their Tamiya's. Tonight while I am working on my my Shelf Scorcher project I thought I would venture back to the early '90's-'00's and get nostalgic with some Boards of Canada, DJ Shadow, and a little Portishead. I like the down-tempo genre...helps me relax. If I am feeling a little silly i'll watch some of the vintage Tamiya promotional videos on YouTube. Shelf Scorcher WIP
  11. I personally think it will be a new website layout, however, i hope its a whole bunch of re-re's like a classic 3-speed to the juggernaugt 2-and new products like a TRF SCT and a 1/5 gas buggy
  12. Toyota Celica GT4 Monte Carlo TL01. I wish I still had it NIB.
  13. I want to attach 1.5 wheels with a 12mm hex to my re-re Sand Scorcher. Is it possible? I found these from RC Channel: Rc Channel adapters Unfortuantley they only work wth RC Channel wheels. Any help is much appreciated.
  14. Ugh...just did mine. Maybe its time to change my forum(s) name.
  15. ...3...2...1...its a TRF re-re Holiday Buggy
  16. Well, hurry up and buy and restore a vintage 3-speed
  17. If you're in the US, and are lookiing to get an SS, I would get one now. Towerhobbies has them for $284.99 -$30, but it only lasts until july 31st. i just bought one and with the standard shipping it only came to $264.99. Thats a great deal in my book, and I figure the SS will be gonzo soon.
  18. I did not know that the body was molded in color, thats a really good idea. I bought this a couple of weeks ago since they were a pretty good deal at towerhobbies ($234.99 shipped). I was going to save to go with a Scorcher body i have to make a glorious Shelf Scorcher, however, my son went nuts when he saw it (porbably the same way I did when I saw my first Tamiya kit in those huge glossy-white boxes with the colorful and beautiful art-work). Anywa, he "helped" me build it. And by "helped" i mean he kept loosing screws and taking off with the body, but he feels like he helped none the less, and that's what it is really about I guess. I plan on giving it to him for his 4th birthday. I figured it wont be too fast and we can upgrade it with the ball diff ad some better shocks eventually.
  19. I think a good choice (although more expensive) is a CC01 like the Land cruiser or Bronco. Very slow with a 55T motor, it helps minimize roll-overs and jumps. My son loved to drive mine, however, he had a hard time holding the transmitter. Someone should invent a miniature transmitter for liitle hands. I wish I hadn't sold it now.
  20. I got up this morning and inspected the body up close. Its in pretty good shape. The cracks are pretty small and could be repaired. The front glass, unfortunately, has 3 of the 4 mount places broken.. The chrome has moderate wear. the chassis is in really good shape. The tires, on the other hand, feel like a dried-out twinkie and are probably rubbish. I think ill clean it up a bit, but I might sell it and see if I can get enough for a NIB re-re Sand Scorcher.
  21. So I have had a little hiatus form RC for a while. On a whim I went and checked out my LHS to see what was new. He had a re-re Scorcher body kit on sale for $30 so I nabbed it even though I had no idea what I was going to with it since I don't even have any RC's at the monent. Next I just happen to be cruising a local classifieds web site that has come up with a few vintage gems for cheap in the past. I found this ranger on the site one night listening to Boards of Canada and just chillin. The guy was originally asking $450 and after a few weeks he dropped the price to $200 I thought "what the badword" and just went a bought it from him almost site un seen, We made the transaction in a dark parking lot and I didnt get a good look at it. I got home and it seems a little worse off than it did in the pics online. It cam with a slew of extra stuffs and vintage radio gear. The body has a couple of cracks abd scuffs. The chassis and mechanicals seem okay, I need to give it a thorough cleaning. The box is in a poor state. I have been out of the loop for a while on vintage prices. I am not sure it I got my money's worth. At least I have an OG Ranger, my first SRB.
  22. OOo, thanks. Oh man...Well maybe they wont be too popular and we'll see some bargans pop up.
