  1. The rally car is an Opel Manta 'B' 400 made by GM Europe in the early to late 80's. Bodyshell there is made by Carson of Germany. Had IMO the best rally livery ever when it carried the Andrews Heat for Hire colours. On another note, that trailer is absolutely gorgeous, I would love something like that for the Mk.2 Escort I'm building. I might just have to have a bash at soldering something now but I know it'll be nothing like that... Martyn
  2. So definitely off then? Seems like the weather is not so bad as it was earlier here, but I am over an hour away here in Wales. Missed out on my first Clumber meet two weeks ago due to the weather too...
  3. Still good. I'll be there from late morning on I think. The weather may be a bit changeable so want to make the most of the day. Bringing a DF03, Bajahopper, one or two TA01 tourers and my brand new Axial SCX10 TR See you all tomorrow... Martyn
  4. Lets do it. 14th is fine by me and the sandworks looks good. Martyn.
  5. I'm up for a bash anytime. Got a location map for this spot Ade? Would love to get some sand on my bajahopper now it's finished and my new axial crawler has yet to leave its box In fact I haven't run anything since last time at Ainsdale, just bought, built and painted... So yeah, anytime, anyplace Martyn
  6. Thanks a lot Mark. Still no email but I can log in to the forum now See you on a meet soon I hope. Martyn.
  7. Thanks Mark I will keep an eye on the clumbermeets forum then. I have tried to register on the forum and it seemed to work but I've had no email that I assume you need to activate the account. Not in spam folder either...
  8. Oh ok. Sounds like I might be best staying here then. That's a shame, I was hoping the weather was a bit better over there, can't be helped. I'd happily come up next week, but I've a christening on Sunday... Looks like I'll have to wait until the one after that. What are the chances of another meet before Xmas? I opened my birthday present a week early for today, a shiny rtr Axial Scx10. It needs to get dirty Hope to meet you all soon. Martyn.
  9. Well hopefully someone will be there today despite the weather. Long way to go if not but what the heck, there's nothing on telly Balloons and vaseline at the ready... We're heading up in a short while. Martyn
  10. Cheers for that. See you tomorrow morning then. Keep an eye out for a red Fiat Coupe. Martyn
  11. Thanks for getting back to us on here. I've been trying to register on clumbermeets and failing all day. I've charged my batteries and dusted my cars so I'll see you up there tomorrow. Is it pretty obvious where you guys meet once I get there or not? Satnav will get me to the park itself. Cheers. Martyn
  12. Hi there. I could be interested in attending this. It's been a bit quiet meet-wise up this way recently and it'd be good to meet some more TCers anyway. What time do things kick off over there? It's a 106 mile trek so would need to plan to make the most of the day. What sort of stuff do you run at Clumber too? Got tourers and buggies but may be able to blag my b'day present a week early - my first crawler Martyn
  13. About this time last year I was in exactly the same position as you. Being given an M-04 Giulia for my birthday got me back into RC after a 20 year absence. As soon as the paint was dry I got the itch for something I could throw about. So for Xmas I ended up with the DF-03 Dark Impact and have to say it was an extremely enjoyable build, and a very usable and competent off-roader to boot. WARNING: cut up your credit cards or find a lot of spare room, as this can quickly spiral out of control. I never planned back then to send my collection into double figures already, but here I am hundreds of pounds down and no room left, with one of these babies to look forward to in a couple of weeks... YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
  14. Yep. LEDs included clickety click Martyn
  15. Just seen it! So cool. You just beat me to the punch posting ;-) Anyone who missed it should be able to catch it on Five's website a bit later.
  16. Wow! Thanks a million for this link. I had no idea anyone made a Fiat Coupe shell. I'm chuffed to bits I can actually recreate my 1:1. I'll post up on the FCCUK forum too. Don't know if we have any RC enthusiasts there, but if not I bet this'll start some off Martyn
  17. Hi Blacque Jacque, No access to a scanner, so I've took photos of the instructions and uploaded them to TCphotos for you. Back of packet Instruction manual Hope that's useful to you Martyn
  18. PM sent fella. Martyn
  19. I had a mate with a GTE too. I don't remember ever going in a straight line in it. The Manta 400 was one of the top rally cars when I saw my first RAC so I have fond memories of them. As for this shell, I don't want to damage it bashing so I think I might get one of Retro Racing's Mk.2 Escorts and stick the Manta on a shelf chassis. I would like to know the history of Carson making these shells though. Thanks for the pics Sideways, I like the black and gold. Kind of JPS-like. Martyn
  20. I recently bought what was advertised on a website as a Carson Manta bodyshell. This was going to go on a TA01 runner chassis as a rally replica basher. Assuming it was the '400' shell I snapped it up, but when it arrived it turned out to be an Opel Manta 'A' rather than the typical 'B'. I didn't even know these were made and haven't managed to track down any information on it at all. I'm more than happy with the shell but as I can't find any other reference to it I'm in two minds what to do with it. Can anyone tell me if it's rare at all, has anyone else got one?
  21. Hi all. Any news on another meet any time soon? I could do with a deadline to spur me into actually finishing one of my three runner projects. Two Pilot Escorts - one for me, one for my girlfriend - and what started out as a standard rere Grasshopper and has turned into a Rising-DF-Grass-Hornet-03-Hopper-Fighter (Soon to add Baja to that). Been faffing around with them for too long. Oh, and my girlfriends daughter wants to play too... Martyn
  22. That was a great meet, I really enjoyed myself and it was a pleasure to meet you all. I've really caught the bashing bug now. When's the next one...? Martyn
  23. Hi all, first post here. About time I christened my cars with a bash so I'm gonna try my best to get to this one. Be gentle with me... Martyn
