  1. I also spotted an HPI Lancia Stratos shell and bought it as well. I have heard that these are a tough fit on the M-chassis, but if I can't make it work I'll save it for something else. It was too cool to pass up.

I also bought the HPI Stratos, hoping it would fit the M06, but it didn't, so I had to buy the M05RA and fit it to that! Shucks!

Completed the build, with my son in one Sunday afternoon.

Just need to complete electrics, and take some pix.

  2. Yes kit springs will fit.

    You also have a wide range of other options too, 53163, 53333, 53630, 31, 32, 33 & 49382 (whew, I'm sure that's not all of them either)

The M06 Pro kit comes with 42168, the same spec as 53333, but black overall.

    I really appreciate your info.

I'll research a bit more before deciding where to spend my money.

  3. The 84118 set doesn't come with springs, but they are cheaper generally. If you already have springs then they will suit you fine.

And they're a lovely black Ltd. Ed. finish too ;)

    Black is good.

Would I be able to use the kit springs on these dampers?

  4. My M06 Pro is at the PO waiting for me to collect it tomorrow.

    Can't wait!!

    This my first M chassis.

    I've built 2 DF03's and started a Hilift F350.

This will have the Renault body, but I'm yet to purchase it.

Can anyone please advise on what alternative Dampers can be fitted to replace the brittle see-thru ones?

  5. GPM #DF3008: Alloy Front Gear Box Lower Mount With Screws (from asiatees.com). 2 of the screws are too long and need 1mm filed from them in this set. Stops the hinges breaking off the front gearbox mount. This will move the stresses of a crash to the tub however, breaking the tub where it mounts to the front diff.

I can support this theory. Having upgraded to Alloy front gearbox lower mount following break of the plastic one, my son's friend's lack of control caused this...........

Fortunately a spare chassis was quickly sourced from Time Tunnel, and I had the satisfaction of completing a quick rebuild.

  6. Does any1 know of a good larger sized bumper upgrade for the DF03?

I can recommend the T Bone Racing bumpers. Available for Front and rear of the Dark Impact (DF03).

Made and sold by T Bone Racing in USA.

Search on Ebay for Dark Impact Bumpers or seller - tbrbumpers

They currently have Front & rear set on Ebay. Made from Nylon. described as virtually indestructible, they will replace foc if you do manage to break it.

    Supplied with countersunk screws.

I have this fitted to both of my son's Dark Impacts.

We have managed to break two, usually by full speed crash into the kerb, and have received replacements without question.

I can provide more pictures or if you want to email T Bone direct pm me for their email address.

  7. A fella called Nigel just e-mailed me with some great pictures of the Jet Hopper 2 ;-

    That will be me.

Glad the pictures were of interest.

I've since moved on to DF03, Dark Impact, and have built two for my sons, who still want more speed.

I enjoy the build, and have now started a F350.

So does anyone have pictures of their Jet Hopper?
